As hard as this dialogue goes, I kinda like the moment in the original game where Peter kinda just pauses when Martin says that. Like his words were so powerful they gave Peter a short moment of clarity. The pride he would’ve felt hearing about miles and seeing how much li had changed being just enough to push back the anger, if only for a brief moment
I felt that there was a huge missed opportunity for Miles and Peter to connect over a kind of mutual hatred for Li…because he cost them both their parental figures. That’s not something that just gets brushed off like that.

All this game, Winnes up doing is mocking him. Like that mj/ scream fight where she blames him for her problems. Or bullying him about not being able to keep a job. I think a small storyline like that could be cool if it was given more attention. They just kind of throw it in, in the middle of the venom plot line.

Don’t get me wrong Li does have some sympathetic qualities with his backstory but the moment he coordinated that bombing at city hall and killing Miles father and god knows how many other peoples family members and loved ones the sympathy ends because he had no problem inflicting the same pain done to him by Norman Osborn onto someone else and unlike Norman he can’t hide behind the accident. He did this all knowing what the consequences would be and still proceeded so he is no better then Norman

Man, this dialogue holds nothing back, and I love it for that reason. They were a bit quick to let Martin off the hook when you think about it. Otto may have released Devil’s Breath onto the city, but Martin Li gave him the fuse to the bomb. In the end, his actions in SPIDER-MAN 2 hardly make up for his actions in SPIDER-MAN 1.
I think you missed the point. Miles clearly states he’s just trying to protect his family. Every time someone mentions him getting revenge, he shuts that idea down immediately. And Martin took his dad away. Of course he’d be angry at him.
Peter lost an aunt and Miles lost a father. You can't really weigh one life against the other or measure the pain of the loss really but going by actions of the perpetrators, it makes sense why Miles is angrier at Li. He blames himself for everything most of all, but I feel like Peter more sees Otto as responsible May's death due to him letting the virus loose than anything. While Li kicked some events in motion the ones who had a more direct hand in peters losses it would obviously have be Norman pushing Otto so far and Otto himself giving into his darker more selfish self. Meanwhile Li had his men directly bomb Jefferson's medal ceremony, nearly killed Miles and his mother too in the process, and had his men cut up and shoot alot of innocence people there as well all while Miles watched helplessly and saw his father's destroyed body while May at least passed in some sort of piece, Jeff died bloodied and burned for Miles to see. I think it makes sense Miles is more mad at him.

The game should had another set of missions to establish more the agressive/symbiote peter against other enemy in the city. Something like that; 1) First half of symbiote spiderman arc: Like the game does, peter is learning about the suit and chasing lizard to help harry. Then he beats lizard and learns that the symbiote is an alien and decides to keep it 2) Second half: Peter abandon harry and MJ for a few days.. maybe a week or 10 days, to give time to have harry truly getting fucked up of his illness. In that time spiderman does a lot of violent things to some villains in town and ends that arc with kraven boss battle and everything that happens against miles.

And people are praising it and calling the original writing bad. It's just little kids who think Spider-Man swearing all the time is badass. It's just so cringey, and it's obvious they didn't understand the game's actual story at all.
@@_veloxity91 Well I do agree that the original writing wasn't as impactful as it should've been. The most umph I really felt with Bully Lowenthal was the pop some more pills scene but I would've liked for him to be more corrupted and I think the rest of this video's dialogue works in that case. But the swearing's unnecessary and makes it less impactful because it feels like it's trying too hard. Maturing is realizing that swear words usually just make you sound immature

1 Critique is probably the cursing. Not against the idea of having it but I'd prefer if it were relegated to a single moment and not every interaction. Honestly the dialogue sounds fine without it
Agreed. Having it used once or twice is fine because it adds shock value, but to use it over and over like a drunken sailor or a COD player cheapens it.

Well everything that Norman did was bad in the first game that's the reason Martin Li became Mr. negative. So Peter used that to say," you became the same thing you want to destroy you little piece of sh*t"

After their fight Li went to find Peter and never revealed he knew the identity of the other Spiderman during this scene.
So Peter still wouldn't name drop Miles as he doesn't know that Li knows.

Another thing is that when he saved Norman from falling to his demise, he kinda threw him down hard rather than gently like he does with other civilians, pete already knew Norman was kinda evil or at the most not as good as he say way before the city never sleeps DLC.
