    Did this on a customer job, and I had to give it to you sir, that was a true life hack you did by cutting that middle portion out of the dash, unfortunately I couldn’t do that to someone else’s car so It was a true nightmare changing that Evaporator.

      If you took in to a dealership they would have cut it out. Its in the Acura and Honda manuals to do so.

      @@pyrocl0 Geez really? I didn’t want to since im extremely OCD with my work, I like to leave everything original as possible, it’s doable, but its a whole lot better than tearing the dash apart like other cars!

    I found that if you pulled out on the hose that goes thru the firewall and keep it from going into the hole and removing the carpet back that the housing went in a lot easier. Thanks a lot for the video, it was a great help. Took me about 2.5 hours to take it out and about 2.0 hours to put it back in.

    My TL 2012 leaks from that area for sure I can hear the leak when I fill it with air. You think it's the same process?

      Should be very close to it. Maybe some screws in different spots but should be very close.

    After a year of ac compressor being out I’m finally replacing it, do I have to also replace the evaporator, expansion valve and the ac condenser. That’s what I was told but not sure, also do I have to flush the entire system before adding anything into to it?

      Sounds like you have a pretty bad leak. It honestly could be anything, damaged pipe, condenser, evaporator, or etc. Your best bet is to take it to a professional to diagnose it and then maybe do your own repair.

      Ur best bet is finding a diagram online and finding out what the part number is then search the part number on eBay.

      Yeah, I got rid of the car about a year and a half ago. Definitely was a nice car to drive and miss it. I see myself getting another Acura in the near future.

      I took it to a shop. A family friend, he did a diagnosis on it and told me I need to replace it.

      @@Daddicated they probably put a probe to detect freon and found there's leak near the passenger side interior. Great job. Subbed! I'll probably make a video for my 2009 TSX.

    Having trouble installing that cover back on where the evaporator goes also was a hassle to remove , any tips on putting it back on not aligning well I had it on good but then didn’t line up from under the hood

      for the evap cover I ended up breaking off the lower guide tabs (either on the cover or the housing) because I couldn't get the piece lined up putting it together.

    Do you know anything about ac leaks or some liquid leak underneath the tsx? How to fix?

      No unfortunately I don’t. It could be anything from oil gasket to ac. Your best bet is to take to mechanic for a diagnosis to tell you exactly what it is.

    Is this pretty much the same process for a 2006 RSX-S? I know the RSX and TSX use the same compressor but not sure if the hoses and blower and all that are the same.

      I'm not sure about RSX. I know this is similar to Honda Accords. I would imagine that it would be similar to RSX tho but not sure.

    You should replace that expansion valve anytime you have that apart. That is the orifice tube for system to turn liquid refrigerant to vapor. They recommend replacing when anything fails in ac system.
    And the receiver dryer bolted to the condenser.

      Daddicated i work at Napa. There like $30 or so. The filter dryer is like $20 or so.
      There pretty cheap. Im replacing my compressor in 04 TL. Denso recommendations replacing those items for warranty coverage. I got a ebay ac clutch. Lasted 2 weeks and failed. So I purchased a new Denso compressor.

    Just finished this repair. There are eight (8) screws in the evaporator housing, not nine. The screw you fabricated the long screwdriver for does not have anything to do with the evaporator housing. The video was very helpful other than that.

      lol. For me it worked but that's because I knew the problem was my evaporator. I had a mechanic diagnose the problem and tell me that the evaporator was bad.

      Kenneth Gonzalez it was a family friend that used to live here. Unfortunately he moved away to a different city about 5 hours away from us. But most mechanics should be able to diagnose ac issues.

      No I’m not sure but I would have to guess it would be very similar to a tsx. And probably is in the same spot. You can check under the hood to see where your pressure lines run to if it’s the same as mine then most likely it’s the same.

      Whats the symptoms to know you evap is bad? Id replaced everything every single part on my a/c system except the evap.. and still doesnt work also the relays are new.. so im thinking it my be the evap

    have a 2004 Acura TSX I replaced the Compressor and after connecting everything, Electrical connections and all, the lights won't turn on, the interior lights won't function, the power windows won't function, the only thing that works are the hazard lights, can you tell me what the problem could be?

      No idea. Are you sure you didn’t disconnect another connector somewhere down the line? Or maybe damaged a wire harness. Also check your fuse box and make sure all of the fuses and relays are working properly.

In your opinion can I get by without changing out the expansion valve? I really don't know how long I will have this vehicle, I just want some cold air for now, not for the next five years.

      Mine was held by two socket head cap screws so all you need is an Allen key.

      No I don’t. Mine ran fine for awhile after I replace the evaporator.

      @@Daddicated Similar evaporator and blower fan housings, but that plastic piece you cut out has a metal piece going all the way across behind the plastic.

      If I remember correctly, it had a leak and wasn't working. I had a friend mechanic identify that I need to replace it.

    PAG oil is for the A/C compressor not for the evaporator.

      You do need to add pag oil to any component if replacing with new .(condenser,accum, evap,comp. specs are in the manual)
