Chase buffing his fire resistance to talk to Alexander in the lava not realizing he could've talked to him from the safety of the rocks.
Even funnier that the talk option popped up but he completely ignored it and talked to him like a real man

That Magma Wyrm @ Gelmir is a pain in the butt. I am glad Chase also had a bit of an annoying time with him. At least there you have plenty of room to move around, unlike the early-game one in Caelid where you pick up Moonveil
@@friendly_inlaw Magma wyrms are stupidly easy, one of the easier bosses in the entire game, I dont get how people struggle with it.
It is annoying with the charging attack especially that they often seem to forget every move other than this one, but its so slow and all you ever need to do is run to the side.
Yeah, its an annoying boss, but not difficult. Ever.

Anyway, I mean few (if any) field bosses are actually hard, but the magma wyrm is definitely more annoying than most specifically because of the charging attack you mentioned - it even dinged someone very experienced like Chase. Most people only manage one playthru, so they’re never particularly overlevelled or anything when they face them, and will have had only 2-3 magma wyrm encounters at most.
I swear I love this series. I’m waiting for new episodes like it’s an HBO show

Speaking of Rot... Chase can STILL go back to pick up "Flame, Cleanse me" to help deal with Poison and Rot buildup especially since he has some faith for casting already.
Very much enjoying the series though! Even more impressive to think that Chase has gotten this far and hasn't lost a single invasion yet... The skill is impressive!
(I'm not counting the one he accidentally jumped off a wall to a non-existent ledge lol)

Hell yeah it could be (as long as invading gives reasonable souls there), but it would be way harder than in ER. Everyone who is left still playing DS3 is a hardcore PVP lover of that game.

By far one of the most impressive runs I've seen! Always been a huge fan but the sheer fact that you can do so well at this, is baffling!! Just goes to show that everyone could do this themselves in PVP and PVE. If you've got the skill, it doesn't matter what the opponent/s use.

You can go to Jarburg for a bunch of pots and perfume ruins south of Gelmir for stuff. I’d also check a few quest lines that drop ancient stones at the end
So glad I found this series. Too much PVE has left me with some awful habits; watching a master of the fundamentals at play is hugely helping me unlearn them. Gratitude.
Watching Chase Demolish the Godskin Noble like his PvP foes shows what mastery of the basics look like. It truly shows that PvP in Souls does make you a better Souls player generally if you get good at it.
@@convergence1point yep, AI is too easy to outsmart with tactics that just get you killed against a real brain, and once you've got suboptimal responses conditioned into your "muscle memory", it's a lot harder to get them out than it was to get them in; panic rolling, for example.

Since you're pretty good at identifying high-level prey you should get some gold-pickled fowl feet to get better returns, they last for 3 minutes so you can pop them when you think they've exhausted their estus and combined with the gold scarab talisman your XP gains will be boosted 56% total. Patches sells the recipe book for them and he sells 3 feet too, each for only 600 gold. Considering your need to level up as you get closer to Leyndell, I don't think anyone would begrudge you a bit of fowl foot and gold firefly farming.
the antspur rapier would be a useful addition to your arsenal, and it's nearby the Shaded Castle.

Genuinely one of the best Elden ring series I’ve seen on yt, it’s so extensive in exploring the pve stuff while featuring some super skilful pvp, and it’s been cool to see how pvp goes at varying levels throughout the series

Haven't finished watching the video yet, but you mentioned there being nothing of interest to you in Volcano Manor at 12:35. Dagger Talisman is behind the stone key fog wall, which you could use to put overleveled phantoms down quickly. You just missed it at the start of the dark room.

Chase, you don't need to stand in the lava to talk to Alexander. Being on the rocks is close enough to make the talk promp appear.

Flamberge scales with dex and he's going strength, any extra blood loss is offset by the significantly lower base damage he would get

Please farm the Green Duelists outside the pvp arena at the Capital. The Duelist hammer and greataxe are amazing weapons. If you 2 hand the hammer and use a roar buff you get incredible chase down R2s like iron cleaver on steroids.
Dude I can honestly say I've enjoyed the series and I've even gotten a bit better at pvp since I've watched your videos and have tried more weapons out other than katanas and thrusting swords. Keep up the good work.

I’m still a few episodes behind, but just wanted to jump forward to say how awesome this series is! I got burnt out from Elden Ring PvP so I stopped watching content as well, but I should’ve known Chase would be the one to bring me back on lol. I already know how I’m gonna do my return playthrough once I finish getting this 100% in Tears of the Kingdom. If you’re on PS5 now I can only hope to match up with you one day lol.

Good thing to know that even an artist like Chase struggles against those super-delayed attacks - and the bell bearing hunter/Elemer. This guy is a terrifying encounter. Invader version at the isolated merchant´s shack is even more scaled up than the actual boss fight, for whatever reason. That being said, while hard to keep up the bleed pressure considering his superior control, you absolutle CAN make the guy bleed. All it takes is a dedicated arcane bleed build... and some lame L2 poleblade cheese :D

Magma Wyrm and other scaly creatures have a lower resistance to pierce, hence why the Claymore R2 was so effective.

You could progress Ranni's questline to grab the Gargoyle Twinblades - str-scaling twinblades that can do wild status buildup.
Another potential option is the Cleanrot Knight Sword to dual-wield with the antspur, as it's a str-scaling thrusting sword that can unlock the antspur's status buildup potential with the dual-wielding attack.
(I'm doing a str run atm with my sister so I'm having to think about this stuff a lot)

Talking to Ranni before finishing Seluvis quest made you miss the magic scorpion. And there is no going back to that.
