I legit just finished this series after taking a long break from ER. Stopped before patch 1.09. I came back and watched this series, and it made me realize that you should use St. Trina's Torch
They had us in the first half, I'm not gonna lie.

Chase getting the cleanrot chest piece and the halo scythe from the same knight was crazy.
He also casually got an imp head earlier in the series which is nuts those things are a B to get just check their rates on the wiki. It took me like three farming sessions to get all of them to finally drop. But if that stone armor in the dlc is obtainable from that npc it’s going to be worth it though.
This is the series I liked the most. Glad to hear it might be starting back up.

I love how Chase's commentary during the Malenia fight just gets more and more incoherent and panicked as the fight stretches onwards.
Also, calling Malenia an asshole when she starts her last waterfowl must be the most foulmouthed thing Chase has said on this channel, like, ever. :D

I love how chill Chase is when fighting the Ulcerated tree spirit. That shit makes me sooo mad mostly because he’s so large he is invisible and the unbeatable enemy in every FromSoft game, the camera

Final Boss fight was a cinematic masterpiece
It’s finally happened!
The build I’m taking into the DLC is a RL150 str/fth character. 60/30 split to be exact. 30 fth gives you access to many buff and defense incantations, as well as most if not all str/fth scaling weapons. They’re good to have, but my main weapon is primarily the Claymore regardless.
Did you try using St Trnias torch meta?

Holy hell, I was actually rewatching the whooe of this series and finished part 21 yesterday and was wondering when this episode was coming.
God tier gamer bro! Melania fight is one of the hardest in the game and getting her on the first try is phenomenal! Best Elden Ring player by a country mile!

It wouldve been hilarious for Chase to intentionally grab and sell the St. Trinas torch and act like no one has ever mentioned it.
This series taught me a lot, tho i'm using the combat knowledge only when theres invader while in co-op, i feel more confident in player vs player situation now
From that 2nd beacon that you lit in Ordinia you can use jar cannon or any great bow and knock those annoying archers off the roofs. Makes it much easier.

On the other hand, did you hear about a Dark soul 3 mod called Dark Souls: Archthrones? Seemed it is an interesting and challenging mod and I definitely hope you can try it and have a run through!

Also, you were talking about other characters you wanted to start (I second the recommend for Hero), but ever considered showing us a PvP playthrough involving Taunter's Tongue? It would be a trip seeing you get invaded instead for once.

I'm doing a dex build rn. You inspired me to do an int swordsman build and my favorite setup (aside from somber stuff for specific situations) was dual straight swords. So I figured I might as well do a dex build to really take full advantage of that and bring it to the DLC and spec int/fth when/if necessary.
Congrats on the run Chase. First trying Malenia at lvl 88 is insane. Hope you eventually get to a dex build. But this series helped me improve how I play as a whole. Thanks!
Hey Chase. I’ve a wild idea for the next pvp level up series. You start as a wretch and you get runes the same way as you did on this one, but when you go level up you spin a wheel that has all the skills on it, and whatever it lands you level that skill. That way you can get a better and I’m build and optimizing what to use. Just seems like fun and unexpected.
I did a low level challenge with a wretch and got stuck in Farum. Random leveling sounds amazing. I want to get my D&D dice and give it a try. 😜😘
Never new this series was still going on just got to part 8 today and man I was looking forward for more 😢 but all good things come to an end loved it to the end and looking forward to more challenges

Black Flame Tornado is also super good against Malenia, it'll stunlock her and the launch allows you to get your stamina back. I get summoned for her all the time at higher levels
Serpent-God's Curved Sword is my favorite off-hand weapon while two handing. Restores HP on enemies killed nearby. A cuddle of crabs means a full HP bar.

I absolutely loved this series!! I understand it's a challenge to make content for it, but i'm glad you gave us a finale!
Loved this series. Can't wait for the next one! It's been such a blast watching you play through PVE.
For your next playthrough, though, it might be a good idea to use some of your charged heavy attacks and look for poise breaks instead of just throwing random ashes when you're already buffed up. You use really good weapons, but you never really used your punish windows for breaking poise which really helps a lot in PVE.

I personally have 3 builds
Lvl 200 99 build focusing on raw power. Was using a quality faith, but 99 str, i love it.
LvL 150 Wizard, just love it, glass cannon, funny blue missiles, perfect.
LvL 139 80 Dex infused with lightning. Super great, works so well in pve and pvp, plus since it is a Dex build, i focused a lot on consecutive attacks.
For the DLC it will for sure be the dueling shield, and any other niche historical armaments they decide to bring in.
You know, I've never did much pvp in the souls series but seeing your content made me confident enough to adventure in some invasions. Your videos are amazing! Very hyped to see your DLC pvp content.
Catching up on this was awesome it’s actually insane that you have a nearly 20 hour series like this just here for anyone to watch. Your kind personality really shines through and you’ve got some great swap skills. Not to mention you showed the most efficient way to go through the game at a lower level by utilizing stat procs smartly. I can’t wait to see you mess up more teams of three with dlc weapons dude it’s going to be so entertaining playing and then taking breaks just to watch your pvp videos.
I’d have to see like an end of year failure comp to even believe you can lose during invasions at this point.

My DLC build will be dex faith. Since dex/faith is underrepresented in base game, the DLC is bound to have a lot more fun options to compensate for

Coming from some one who is not very good at the game and always felt that I need to over level in oder to get through it, I learned so many things watching this and it flowed so seamlessly between pvp and pve. Thank you for all the content chase look forward to the next series!

I legit didn't think you were gonna finish the series! I finished my level up through pvp run last month with an arcane build and finished the game at level 85 and did videos on my channel. I actually want to make a series where I do it with every main damaging stat, so if you plan on doing the same, I guess we'll have to race and see who finishes first 🤣
Seriously though mad respect on this playthrough. It inspired me to do the run which is actually getting some decent attention on tiktok. Next I want to do faith, which will leave me with int, str and dex, so I'll see you on the other side homie!

I’ve recently fallen in love with the ornamental straight sword. The unique aow with the talisman that increases damage per hit makes it scary

The build I'm taking through the DLC first is my INT/DEX frost spellsword. It's my only character on NG+, so I ended up embracing the power fantasy and leveling beyond 150. All my other characters are right around 150
Loved this series, really fun - for the next one you could consider using Taunter's Tongue? It's a fun way to get 1v1s on your terms, if you prefer fights in certain areas you can wait for them to come to you
I second the person in the comments who suggested you do an inverse run. You play normally but with Taunters Tongue so you get invaded, and that's how you level up instead of doing invasions yourself (at least while it's still viable). It would be interesting to see you get invaded for a change, and probably quite educational.
Casually first tries Malenia at level 90
Strength arcane is what I am doing for sure.. the item discovery with the beefy damage and buffed stat effects. Thinking a wide range of weapons, I like quick swapping around the claymore
Ran right by an ancient dragon smithing stone in the haligtree.. smh

For DLC builds, im tossing it up between
a) A full melee sword sorcery cold insufion build.
or b) Strength leaning quality / consumables build that can't use magic or magic AoWs
I've had a death sorcery loadout with the St Trina sword and torch prepped for the DLC. not for effectiveness but because I'm hoping there will be areas and cutscenes that fit thematically with my character
Arcane for the DLC would also be good because there are some sleep themed areas and at least one sleep incantation. I would assume a fair bit more too.
You can't beat the versatility of strength faith though.
DLC wishlist:
•More elemental ashes of war especially for lightning and gravity
•Better verity of Elden Bling

Such an amazing series, I think next time you should either invade until you get enough souls to level instead of limiting yourself to 3 invasions, or at least up it to 5 after it takes like 40k+ to level. Fantastic series regardless

My build for the dlc is funny enough, a Messmer cosplay, the weapons I'm using are the flame art guardian swordspear, dragon communion seal, coil shield and a occult poison moth flight noble slender sword. It's a Rl200 build with 60 in faith, arcane and Vigor, barely enough strength to use the weapons, 20 mind and 30 endurance, the rest i put in dex
I'm taking my STR/Faith Maliketh cosplay build into the DLC. Messmer's gonna get to suffer destined death.

I plan on using a Strength faith build, but in regard to arcane for discovery, you can always just subsidize it with the silver scarab talisman

2nd most hype video! Im skipping gravity counting today and just enjoying the show.
Even though they'll probably be used to death right away, I will be using the KICK weapons immediately. I have a fun habit where I kick Elden Beast to death and I Love the Iron Balls and various other fist weapons. The low weight allows me to focus on other, more important things.

I'm preparing a rl 150 dex build right now. That will likely give me access to the dual curved swords, the throwing daggers and hopefully the martial arts stuff too.
I wanted this almost as much as I wanted the DLC trailer lol
Hopefully the new sparing weapon class will be best on a quality build. Finally give a reason for people to run them.
