- Have you ever thought what is that green button on #Honda's that says #ECON? In this video we are going to talk about that. Fuel #economy is a major part of Honda's brand.
If your looking at #toyota, #ford, #chevy, #nissan, #hyundai, #mazda, or #volkswagen I would highly suggest looking at a Honda model before you purchase!
Shop my inventory 24/7 at Hertrichhonda.com or Hertrichkia.com and remember we ship all over the USA!!!
This guy could might as well be Scotty Kilmer’s son
I recently bought a 2019 Ridgeline and took a 4000 mile round trip across country. I drove the first half of the trip in "regular" mode and averaged 27 mpg. I monitored my mpg by resetting the B trip meter after each fill up and noticed that the quality of gasoline I used dramatically affected the mpg, varying from 26 to 28 mpg at highway speeds. I used Shell, Love's, Texaco, Valero, Circle K and Murphy USA, just to name a few. Best mpg was on Shell and Love's gasoline, worst was Circle K. On the return trip, I used ECON mode. I noticed no, repeat no improvement on mpg and I had to turn my AC temperature down a few degrees to be comfortable in the cabin when outside temps exceeded 90 degrees. I also noticed a less responsive transmission shift when accelerating until the pedal reached "passing" gear. For me, I like the response of the 6 cylinder and found no use for ECON mode; it's a "feel good" button Honda uses to satisfy the liberal masses.......
Thank you for your breakdown! I believe you.
Which quality of gas had the best MPG?
@@ryanscottnix I used 87 octane, all had some percentage of ethanol.
Not explaining anything about it
Would ECON mode work with SPORT mode?
Thank you for watching! Please like the video and subscribe to my channel!!
I have never used mine. The truck is severely lacking in balls as it is - the last thing I want to do is make it even slower. I hate my 2019 Ridgeline.
Why don’t you fucking cry about it more
Now I know. Definitely good for driving long distances. Thank you.
Oddly , my fuel economy went up when I turned this feature off on a long highway trip
It's supposed to be on when you want to save gas, not off.
wondering -
does it work? I've heard both, no, ppls haven't seen ad difference, v/s yes.. 1-2 mpgs diff
What about a 2012 pilot
Thank you!
Is it ok if I turn ON the ECON all the time?
Yes you can. I leave ECON on my Ridgeline all the time. Thank you for watching my video! Please subscribe to my channel!
@@PhillipPaul - Thanks for the info...! Subscribed 👍
@@PhillipPaul thanks. I have it on all the time. Is there any downside to keep it on all the time? The ac works fine all the time with it on
Yes, if you are ok with driving like a trutle all the time.
I want to do if you need to keep eco on & also what the A button below is for. I have a Honda Civic lx 2022 .Have hear anything about that button.
Never record videos with the sun behind u. Or lights.
I actually prefer the way my pilot shift when in Econ mode. Just turn it off if I need some extra speed to merge on the hwy.
I seem to get better gas miles with econ off
😮
Econ bullshit!! Makes no difference on my 2024 accord lx. I get shitty gas milage since I bought new in may. On a full tank, I cant even get more than 250 to 265 miles, that is bullshit!! Accorfong to honda specs, it's rated at 474 miles oer tankfull. I can't even get out of averaging between 14.3 to 16.4 miles.per gallon according to the gauge everytime I fill it. My 2020 I traded for this piece of shit was rated at 562 miles per tankfull accirding to honda specs...bullshit!! I only got about 375 to 400 miles per tankfull in it, more than this 2024. That I'm now stuck with😡😡😡
