Awesome job - thanks for the tips, especially the correct removal tool. Glad you found your weather strip! I once found a big hunk of bread when i dropped my undertray! I'm guessing a mouse was making a nest for the winter.
also I see u used a 903-6 (75mm) 12 flute oil wrench , is that defo the correct size. . was just going to buy the correct wrench for my car instead of a universal one
No problem, glad this has helped. It certainly fits the original Renault filter and the new Bosch one I replaced it with. I just have the whole kit. The pipes do make it difficult to get the cup on straight but the filter in the video was on very, very tight.
brilliant demo as are all of your videos ...thx. I have exactly the same engine as you and hoping you can help me. I noticed that the small black pipe (looks like a breather pipe) that runs from somewhere above the starter motor down and along the side of the sump then stops/vents under the sump in my car has unattached itself and was wondering if you know where it should go in the engine bay?
Thank you. I am very interested because of recent issues with my scenic 1.5dci xmod bose 2015. Started using independent garage about 3 years back, the best in Ennis🙄. Never had issues with this Renault ir any other Renault until shortly after months after my second service with garage. You opened my eyes, the type of oil the type of filter. I honestly don't believe now the oil was changed never mind the correct type, as issues with glow plugs appeared issued with dpf appeared and the latest fuel injector, all costing me hundreds to replace at this garage. I drew the line at dpf and said I can hear it working I can hear the flap shutting down. Now I know I'm right, incorrect oil or no oil change. Plus fuel filter I'm having my doubts now. I will follow and learn from you and at keast try to do some things myself. I trust myself. I feel terribly let down by this garage in Ennis. They got too big for their boots, to the point 4 days a week is their week worked, never again.
Much better to do it yourself if you are able else you're at the mercy of charlatans and thieves (and garages) any tools you buy soon pay for themselves.
You can buy original renault filters, they are better than any aftermarket in this case and the price is same like aftermarket. Use ELF fulltech FE 5w30 C3. It is best choice for this engine also. You have a leaky oil pressure switch under the oil filter.
@@SocketsAndSideburns hi mate just done mine today, mine's grand scenic and the undertray is just one piece with 7 bolts. I am just about to fit underneath without jacking up the car lol. Can I ask how much oil exactly did you pour in? I put 4.5 on mine as Euro Car parts website suggests, however I am unable to check the level by the dispstick because it's soaked to right up the stick.
I ended up with just under 4.5 litres, probably 4.3. Give it some time to settle and run down. The filler neck is also the dipstick tube so it can get coated when filled. If you want to be absolutely double double sure then measure how much oil came out.
Always untighten the oil filter partially before you remove the sump plug. In that way if you run into problems removing the oil filter (like almost happened in the video) you still at least have the current oil in the system.
I recently saw your video and i have a question,my car is with start stop and i ordered the oil filter like yours which is a litle higher.when i change my oil and oil filter i saw that the filter they put on previous service was lower than that i bought.is there any problem with that?
To be honest I don't know however I doubt it will have caused an issue. Either way its to late now. All you can do is ensure the correct one is fitted in future.
I wish every mechanic doing it this way!Well done👍

What a superb instructional video, well done !
Love your Scenic vids. Looking foward to more. I've got an oil chance to do and this was really helpful. Thanks!
Will be videoing a few small jobs on the Scenic over the next few weeks.
@@SocketsAndSideburns My nightmare Scenic as it is now called just had to have 2 injectors done. grrr
Using this to do my oil has been helpful so far will update
Update I got a new washer and plug as my local shop sold it as such
Got a top down multi fit pincher type for the oil filter
extraordinary explanation about your videos. Thanks a lot. Perfect.
thanks for this great help! great tip with the dpf fitted or not wasn't aware of that on the door,

Thought you'd found the missing 10mm for a second 😃
I always wondered if Renault/Nissan particulate filters of this era are really that sensitive that they need ultra low ash (=
Thanks for the video and Stay safe ✌️.
Grazie❤

I have a 2016 scenic 1.6 dci and having injector issues? What was the cause

@@gerardjampies5101 what issues? With injectors , the cheapest quickest test is a leak-off test.

thank you!!!
Wich size of cup key is for this type of car?
Hi mate did you manage to do it without jacking up the car? I wouldn't have thought this was possible.
I did indeed. Plenty of access. Hardest part to reach was the back two undertray bolts.

Please what is the oil filter removal tool cup size
I'm afraid it can be a different cup depending on what filter you have as some have flats on them and others have flutes.

Never known a oil filter to be so tight
Installed by a Renault dealership.
@@SocketsAndSideburns what size oil filter cup did you use
il filtro lo stringo a mano senza esagerare per non impazzire allo smontaggio
