For a comfortable stairs/steps the formula is 2xRise + Going = 550 - 700mm. Preferably, the nosing of the stair tread should overhang the rise by 25mm. Any steps that have a total rise above 380mm should have a handrail. External steps should be frost resistant and therefore, the bricks need to be at least Class B engineering quality.
