I’m building out a transit into a camper van to travel round Europe need it to be as reliable as possible it’s just started to develop a starting issue where it turns over but won’t start got stuck in petrol station at the pumps over day not a good experience can’t afford for this to happen abroad!! just stumbled on this ,my transit had the same ,crank but no start and towed to 2 different mechanics and eventually sold as not running and lost squillions and I loved that van
You really were send by God! My Transit is à handicap Carrier adapted to drive my wife on wheelchair, so we are so happy to know where the problem is and that now we can trust the vehicle!! All the best wishes to you and greetings to your son !!
update. iv just checked and my key moves about and ignition lights go on and off. i will check tomoro and c if this is my problem. will update. thanks bud
Cheers for video, mine starts but cuts out within seconds- how do you change the crank sensor? i saw on the seat- iv unplugged mine & back in but someone said could need replacing...so if not too expensive i'll do that next.. ;)
Hi thanks for contacting me. The crank sensor is on the top left side of the engine /gearbox. They are not expensive allways replace with a genuine part and replace in the same position previously. Thanks
Hi, having my transit custom 2015, 2.2 tdi, after changing washers under injectors its stop to start, engine its crank but not starting, have some error apear, P0335 cranshaft sensor, p0642 sensor voltage a corcuit low, u0422 invalid data received,u0401 invalid data ecm, p2463 dpf restricted. Any idea from what to start ?!? Was a great running car before checked the washers
Hi, thanks for your video. When you turn your key before fix , did you have an error on dash ? Mine has an error with engine malfunction . If I quickly turning many times key from 0 to crank position it gets finally start. It gets worse recently I also have EGR valve to replace may this causing problem ?
Hi there thanks for your message. I didn't have a error light on the dash. It's worth giving the key a wiggle when turning, if starts this is usually the ignition switch, it is also worth checking the EGR valve as mentioned..Good luck and take care.
Hi there I have a 2011 Ford Transit van that I switched the ignition switch and barrel out for a new one with new keys and now it doesn't want to start up. It's showing me security light. How do I or what do I need to fix it.

my issue is as follows. first start of day ok. when van gets warm then it dont start first go. all filters are new. when ignition is switched on i can hear the fuel pump running and if i wait until it times out the van starts most times. 2009 mk 7 with only 100 k on clock. any ideas. i will check the ignition switch

had the same fault on my transit. i am in france my very cool garage guy found the problem. a cheap repair thank god! cheers for the video!

Had a similar think with a ford ranger , thought it was the starter playing up ,changed that but no better .... turned out to be the ignition switch 👍

Hi my transit has just started to sometimes turn over but not start turn it on and off it fires it’s had new filter do you think it’s same thing

Having same problem once its warm.... did you ever fix it ? If so what was it..

was it turning over and was it an intermittent issue
Hi it was turning over wouldn't fire up due to the ignition switch as it had worn and not making a connection properly

Hi im having a similar issue crank but no start and imobiliser light flashing.
Hi try to wiggle the key and the ignition switch when trying to start to see if this works as it is a sign off the ignition switch faulty
