Man, these were the days. I still remember coming home from school, jumping on YT and watching this EVERYDAY this and AMC movie talk we’re the reason I got so into movies. RIP Schnepp and hope everyone who worked on these amazing shows are doing well (still following John a bit too)
+MrIBC They deleted the first 10 minutes of that video :/ Basically it was a drawing of Plagueis and they thought it was confirmed to be what Snoke would look like in TFA.
Unexpected enthusiasm from Schnepp. BTW I am a little upset that it was let slip that there is going to be a new Republic but I appreciate John stepping in.
I'm not surprised to hear the story has that reboot feel. I think it was pretty obvious from what they were showing us in the trailer. I don't care. I just want it to be quality Star Wars, with good acting and great moments.
I'm glad that people are already acknowledging the flaws of the film! It's a good sign that film-goers and critics have come very far since 1999 when Phantom Menace was praised for quite a long time for being "perfect" because of the denial people had with it! I had a couple of small issues! But The Force Awakens was fantastic! I don't like ranking films but I will say that this film stands with the originals, I'm very satisfied and am very excited to see episode VIII
Thank you Schnepp. It's great to finally hear one of the Collider crew actually be excited and passionate about T.F.A. I don't really understand why the Jedi council host seem afraid to get excited when talking about the film. I understand that there are things in the film they didn't like and I respect all of you for making sure we all know it's not perfect-thank you for the honesty. However, even the things they, "loved" the way they talk about it feels like they were just okay. Also I understand not wanting to give spoilers but, John relax. Schnepp was not giving anything away and yet you almost cut him off. Also, after seeing Jedi Council this week it's clear that the hosts feel like if they say, "the movie is great!" It's as if they are just drinking the kool-aid. The movie was fantastic, yes it had problems but, it was fantastic.
I love their answer to "will my girlfriend still enjoy SW:TFA without seeing the originals first" question, I knew that was coming! My lovely lady hadn't seen the original trilogy since she was little, she is no movie critic by any means, she couldn't believe how much she enjoyed the original trilogy and she then realized why the world is so crazy about Start Wars. I have to wait until Sunday to see it, I can't believe I have to not watch the reviews until then... Great show as always!
Campea this is why we love you, You care so damn much about us, your audience. Even though we shouldn't have to say this (because you don't owe us anything) We forgive you for that Comm. Snoke news. Yeah you goofed but your only human but We (I speak for the whole of the Collider fandom [that aren't idiots]) greatly appreciate all the work and passion you and everyone in the Collider crew, On and behind the cameras, do to give us the Best Damn Movie Related News on the internet!!
Not going to read any previous comments because well, you know.... Watching this TH-cam video on my Mac, I felt John Campea's apology in 3D. Nothing to apologize for, we all appreciate your passion and your candor.
I agree, "Step Brothers" is one of my favorite comedies ever. The improvised musical commentary on the blu-ray, is bloody hilarious too, also one of the funniest audio-commentary tracks ever!
I completely understand Harloff. He'd rather be sure that his enthusiasm does not lead him the misjudge. On top of that, The movie leaves a missunderstood feeling of disappointment for not having all that you want, everything you want to see. It is an angst for more, not truly disappointment and it takes a bit to get over it.
The best way to see this movie is about a month or two or even a year after release, when all the hype dies down and you can see the movie for what it is. I really enjoyed the movie, though it is very "A New Hope." I think it will be the second movie that helps this trilogy stand apart.
John Campea really shouldn't beat himself up, I have no doubt that it was an unlucky mistake that people confirmed something that was ultimately wrong and if not at least you don't just throw it out for getting reactions, you just genuinely want to inform people. Keep up the great shows!
why I think John is the best human in the movie business industry cause he can be honest and critic himself and not try to hide his mistakes. my respects good sir.
I give it a 9/10, JJ Abrams is The King of the Nerds, it really lives up to expectations and adds new flavour to the Star Wars Universe, i especially loved the mixture of new and old cast members who worked really well together. Kylo Ren was particularly menacing and also a perfect villain. Just a great film simple as that.
My profile pic is saying "cheers" to Collider. Thank you! That little gnawing feeling that movie MIGHT suck is GONE! I've watched you all justifiably bash the prequels over the past year. THIS is what I wanted to hear. I trust you all and feel so much better. You gave nothing away and went all out "sweaty". May The Force be with you and please always bring us The Filthy!
no big deal about Snoke John! I respect the fact you take your job serious and want to always give us true information. I take movie rumors or movie insider news with a grain of salt until it finally comes out with the main source. Peace brother!
I personally think that the ending was a wee bit rushed, and there were a few MINOR plot holes, like how Kylo Ren knew Finn's Identification tag just by looking at him, but a lot of the plot holes can just be solved by "They're just using the force, and looking inside their head" or something.
The AMC Lincoln 13 NYC picture was used for the weathers impact segment! That's my favorite theatre in the city and where I'm going to watch Star Wars Friday morning on IMAX ^_^
Was a little concerned hearing that there were some issues that John and Kristian had with the film. But then Schnepp's comments brought me back to the hype. I can't wait until tomorrow night!
+skysam freeman you will understand issues right there when you will watch the movie....... i just saw it and now watching the video..... otherwise its great movie
OMG. I had been a fan of the prequels before I started watching ColliderVideos. Nowadays I kinda agree those movies are garbage. BUT! Good lord am I tired of listening to the Collider crew calling out those poor movies OVER AND OVER AGAIN! If you haven't heard a bad thing about the prequels in a video - well, be sure the video wasn't made by Collider. I genuinely love you, dear Collider Crew, but could you PLEASE leave it be once in a while? Mentioning the prequels and describing how bad they were makes me sick and I am pretty sure I am NOT the only one. It's simply a waste of time. Thanks for all the great work you do.
it was an amazing experience but I feel like my verdict atm is just placeholder. I'm glad they didn't feel the need to cram in as much as possible. But it does also mean that ur going to have to see the triology as a whole. I would liken it to a season of game of thrones where they do wrap up and resolve certain main storylines brought up that season but they also leave u with questions. And my first reaction was getting a bit "huh I kinda missed not having the cherry on top". Then I let it cool and without spoiling anything I do think it will work better with the story as a whole when it's all said and done. But it is hard not to think "would have liked to see that kinda moment" because this is passing it on to the next generation as u clearly see just from the trailers and the way actors have talked about it. Hell even small parts have faces I recognize but my mother won't. Kinda like when she introduced me to the movies and recognized the minor roles. But I get that there are more then just one cook in this kitchen. And I am sure they must have talked about it and realized that such a moment would just be there to satisfy one portion of the audience and not serve the overall story they have come up with. The discovery is without question Daisy Ridley, people grew up loving Han Solo, in my opinion she is now that character. She was the most delightful suprise, for the most part I had rough ideas about certain plot points that turned out to be correct but I didn't think I would in such a big cast for just 2hours grow so attached. I would love to see a series with just Rey inbetween movies depending on if there will be exctensive year gaps like previous episodes. I could go on but I will rather wait until I can start to spoil stuff
I believe Star-Lord's dad has to be Stakar. Look up his power base -it's light-based. And the guy is ancient and basically immortal since he's had many prior lives. Stakar can also can survive in the vacuum of space. I think Gunn has mentioned him as a favorite character too.
I think my favorite thing about all the reviews I've been reading is that everyone has a different favorite character. I've read many reviews that made cases for Rey, Finn, Poe, or Kylo. To me that's what Star Wars is all about.
I love the cockiness of Poe Dameron. Not the brash Han Solo cockiness. Poe's is a kind of quiet cocky. Something that quietly says "I'm the best at what I do and there's nothing you can do about it.".... His first words at Kylo Ren show how cool Poe Dameron is. Loved it!
I wish we could talk more SW now! Man what an awesome film. Unfortunately the shortest 138 minutes i have seen for a long time. It was just a glimpse into the gigantic universe created by Lucas. But a fun one. i wanna go and see it right again. so many great lines and hell sad moments. i can hardly wait to Friday to see your spoilers review. The evil side defintitly has minor problems. Loved the first order speech. Wicked! it already ranks right behind Return of the Jedi, but might even crawl up the ladder. And you really cannot wait to episode 8!
Misleading is how they have to keep the general public from knowing the real scoop. Technology is nuts these days. Happens in seconds from breaking news from the tv to the phone in your pocket. It has to be done. I know I don't like it, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it has to be done. Spoilers, so much happen these days are completely. But Collider, I will eagerly await your next Jedi Council and your video on Friday. I would love to hear your guys and gals thoughts. I just got back from my session. Just...incredible
On point to what you guys said about Ren is "the" new Vader. I thought Starkiller base may have been too Death Starry for me. I was wrong. Extremely impressive super weapon.
In a mere 23 hours and 45 minutes I will bask in the glory that is Star Wars opening day. I already know the movie is good (Rotten Tomatoes at 94%) but I'm more excited for the atmosphere. Myself, my group of 5 and about 300 nerds! :D
So does this mean we could get more Spiderman stand alone films then we generally would of other stand alone Marvel movies? Like Captain America won't get a 4th movie for at least 3 years because they are busy making films for so many other characters, while Sony on the other hand just has Spiderman to worry about.
you guys should do a sit down and watch of King Kong starting from John's cut off point and do a running commentary like you've done with the star wars films.
I just watched the movie and I do have a problem with the character development of the villains (and even Finn's motivations) and the way exposition was handled in the movie but I am hopeful that they will tackle some of the issues in the sequel. My best advice is just to enjoy it as a popcorn movie and not to think too much about how everything connects with one another because some things are left unexplained and unresolved in the movie. Also it's important to remember that this is a trilogy movie and they don't have to reveal all their cards in the first movie. Hopefully the sequel will give us more insight into what happened in the past 30 years and also touch on Rey's family background. It looks like there will be an inter-racial romance (yay!) and more Luke and Leia interaction with the new cast in Episode VIII.
Watching the enthusiasm on your faces talking about star wars gets me pumped for the film but also cant wait until i get to see the film i really been wanting to see and that's Batman v Superman. These are event films! Also, yes i got my tix to see SW in IMAX in NY but for next week.
"Jumanji" was excellent, a much fuller complex story compared to the book. Would love to see a sequel to it not persay a reboot. "Heat " was great, definitely one of Michael Mann best films, shame Miami Vice did not take off. Kurt Russel is great in "Star Gate", & "Soldier" as well. But yes you definitely cannot forget "The Thing", & "Big Trouble in Little China". Would love to see Kurt Russel, & Keith David (from "Gargoyles") another film together. "Move That Body" sounds interesting. "The Spirit" could have been better, but Scarlett Johansson was okay in the film. Cannot wait for the Green Goblin, Scorpion, or others to go up against Iron man, or Captain America.
Thanks for the apology guys, really appreciated. I was surprised that the story was run in the first place though to be honest, because even if it were real, if SW didn't want you to reveal a character before you saw the film, why would you tell everyone about a leaked image. Doesn't make sense to me but thankfully the image was wrong. Hopefully from now on you guys won't do that anymore (not saying that to be rude though).
Harloff is right, certainly the weakest John Williams score of all 7 Star Wars films. It was very much like the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull soundtrack which is disappointing. But the characters were absolutely wonderful. It was very funny and Star Wars to the core.
+Craig Hicks yep the music did not deliver. JW just lost his touch. i expected at least one theme that would have being outstanding. just listend to it on iTunes and still no real scene came back.
Thanks for the Review Guys! Guess I'll be interested in Seeing Star Wars : The Force Awakens after all! BTW Staying away from Forums and TH-cam Comments before seeing the Force Awakens so I can have the movie experience of a lifetime before talking about Spoilers related to the film so that my Hype and Interest in Episode VII isn't ruined.
good morning! just woke up and i'm still excited about this movie, thats a rare thing AFTER you've actually seen the movie. Man i can't wait for you guy's spoiler review, theres sooooooooooooooooooo much to talk about and things to look forward to. I still can't believe i just watched a STAR WARS IN THE CINEMA AGAIN!!!!!!! it really feels like the first time watching Star Wars again after Return of the Jedi and that feeling is GLORIOUS!. uhm? what did you say? ... the Prequels? what the hell is that???? man! you're weird!.
All I need to know is that my favorite Collider Video stars are geeking out over the new SW film. That and I buy Campea's apology as totally honest and sincere; his being fooled could've happened to any of us.
I'm not a star wars fan I watched the prequels as a kid and wasn't impressed. when I heard that they were making this film I didn't give one fuck but hearing you guys talk about it is getting me hyped for it.
Actually Jon, I'm almost entirely certain that Feige said in an interview that Marvel Studios is producing the film. As in, they are literally the production company making the film, replacing Columbia pictures. Sony maintains oversight, but it is both a Sony and Marvel movie. Sony Pictures distributes, Marvel Studios produces. This contrasts the other MCU films in that they were distributed by Disney/Paramount
Hello from Thailand , I love the resistance X-wing fighters long take. I think the strongest part of Star Wars : The Force Awakens is the cast IMAX filming parts are the excellent choices. May the force be with you.
not long home after seeing the force awakens and it is the best since 83. I was surprised at how quickly you found out about Kylo Ren but i suppose it was important for the plot that you knew near enough straight away and I was fine with the ending.
I haven't watched this Movie Talk episode yet but i'm not finding the promised Jedi Council non-spoiler review. Is it out? I'm afraid to look at anything but that.
Have to agree with Kristian about the score. The main thing I noticed was the older themes being woven in and nothing new really stood out. But maybe that's a good thing because the story took precedence without needing the score to build emotion. After persevering through the prequels in the build up to Force Awakens it makes me appreciate the acting talents of John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. Natalie Portman was so wooden in her delivery at times and the less said about Hayden Christensen the better, they had zero chemistry. Whereas I thought John Boyega and Daisy Ridley were great - so much of the future of the franchise was riding on their young shoulders and it seems to be in good hands. I was curious to know what format everyone saw the film in and if they have any feedback. I have basically given up on the 3D gimmick but knowing that I will probably see this film multiple times I may end up forking out the extra cash for something different.
There was a rumor that most of Lupita's scenes were cut from the film. Is this true? I would assume not since she's been doing a ton of promotion for the film, but I just want to make sure.
Man, these were the days. I still remember coming home from school, jumping on YT and watching this EVERYDAY this and AMC movie talk we’re the reason I got so into movies. RIP Schnepp and hope everyone who worked on these amazing shows are doing well (still following John a bit too)
Wow, John seemed really beat up about the Snoke thing.
+Marvin 777 He cares about us.
Yup he has empathy, he knows how annoying it is when websites mislead viewers, but this was different i feel, totally wasnt their fault
+The Wilfred Yeah he does.
What's going on with this 'picture' I haven't seen the video yet so what's this of snoke?? I'm getting a bit excited now 😂😊
+MrIBC They deleted the first 10 minutes of that video :/ Basically it was a drawing of Plagueis and they thought it was confirmed to be what Snoke would look like in TFA.
I wish I could forget spoilers, oh well. Still excited to see Force Awakens.
same here
+Mr Anderson Like I said already knew that.
+Mr Anderson FUH-Q
+Mr Anderson why did you say that bro dont be an ass about it
What got spoiled in the video?!? Should I be watching it?
I don't think I've ever seen Campea so angry. It's ok man!
Total respect for Campea and Kristian for owning up to the mistake and apologising for it, very professional
Taking my gf to see the movie tomorrow however she's never seen any of the Chipmunk movies will she still enjoy it?
Hell yeah
Yeah, but at least let her hear The chipmunk edition of saleel sawarim first.
hell no, I mean why doesn't she watch the original one it's truly a masterpiece, who the fuck has never seen it :-\
+Randy Nguyen lmao, r u talking about star wars or the chipmunks? LOL
+Randy Nguyen I cant wait. Just have to stay away from all the spoilers. Dont want anything ruined.
Collider, you guys rule. By far the best talk show on youtube. Way to be professional about your own reporting.
Well done John and Kristian. People admitting their wrong is way to much of an uncommon occurrence these days.
I'm with Schnepp, it was awesome!!!! Star wars is back!!!
Campea this is why we love you, You care so damn much about us, your audience.

+Mystery of the Sea Yeah, great commentary! And the Anchorman commentary with Lou Rawls scatting is amazing as well!
Your integrity is admirable Obi-John. You are not a jack-ass. It happens to the best of us.
I completely understand Harloff. He'd rather be sure that his enthusiasm does not lead him the misjudge. "start on the boat" will now be my favorite way of saying "cut to the chase" or "get to the point already".
It's ok Campea! I thank you for your honesty and I continue to promote this channel because you guys have a great show!
Just saw it and I thought it was GREAT!!All the newbies were really good and im not ashamed to admit I got teary eyes seeing the old cast again! 9/10
Don't forget Kurt Russel in Tombstone...LOVED him in that.
I heard that Darth Plagueis slip John. 13:55. Confirmed Snoke is Plagueis.
John Campea really shouldn't beat himself up, I have no doubt that it was an unlucky mistake that people confirmed something that was ultimately wrong and if not at least you don't just throw it out for getting reactions, you just genuinely want to inform people. Keep up the great shows!
I've usually agreed most with schnepp's opinion on star wars out of everyone on the show so I'm even more excited knowing how much he loved the movie.
why I think John is the best human in the movie business industry cause he can be honest and critic himself and not try to hide his mistakes. my respects good sir.

Also agree JJ is to be massively commended for his work. The toughest job in film. And he did a great job.
Is no one gonna talk about the thumbnail? They look badass! Star Wars is like the theme of the month for everything
Can't wait for the spoiler review! Really want to talk about all the stuff in this incredible film.
You're okay Joe!! It's all fine! Everyone makes mistakes!
celebrating its 30 year birthday is Night Falls. Great performance by de niro and even a cameo by pacino!
Step Brothers is my favorite Will Ferrell. I didn't like Anchorman at first but have grown to like it.
I still have the double VHS version of "HEAT." Classic.
OMG. I had been a fan of the prequels before I started watching ColliderVideos. Nowadays I kinda agree those movies are garbage. BUT! No worries guys. We all make mistakes. Still the most reliable source for news on the web.

I loved all 3 hours of Peter Jackson's King Kong. I can't imagine not having the beginning.
John, you were wrong on the Snoke picture, but you admitted that you were wrong. So I'm not mad or upset and I respect you more. Same to Kristian
Kurt Russell was great on Soldier, if you want to see him doing action Sci Fi, I strongly recommend you see it.
I think my favorite thing about all the reviews I've been reading is that everyone has a different favorite character. I've read many reviews that made cases for Rey, Finn, Poe, or Kylo. To me that's what Star Wars is all about.

Thank you for excepting the responsibility for putting out bad info, mad props!
Thank goodness for Schnepp! A true, from the heart, movie fan reaction.
Kurt Russell would be a perfect casting as an older Captain you know who (for those who heard of the rumors). SWEET!!!!
When I saw the opening crawl, I truly realised how massive this movie is
All is forgiven guys. Your shows are the best.
Misleading is how they have to keep the general public from knowing the real scoop. Technology is nuts these days. Happens in seconds from breaking news from the tv to the phone in your pocket.

Don't sweat the Snoke stuff! I watch you guys EVERY day and love what you do! Look forward to seeing your full spoilers review on Friday!
Heat 20 years old. Wow. That movie still hold up great. I just watched it again the other day. Fantastic heist movie.
So does this mean we could get more Spiderman stand alone films then we generally would of other stand alone Marvel movies?
Like Captain America won't get a 4th movie for at least 3 years because they are busy making films for so many other characters, while Sony on the other hand just has Spiderman to worry about.
I love Kristian's impersonations! His Pacino is as funny as his Seinfeld on Jedi Council.
God Schnepp's excitement is just leaking out of my computer screen my hype levels are increasing again
you guys should do a sit down and watch of King Kong starting from John's cut off point and do a running commentary like you've done with the star wars films.
Near the top of the list of Will Farrel movies "The Other Guys" deserves to be mentioned.
Watching the enthusiasm on your faces talking about star wars gets me pumped for the film but also cant wait until i get to see the film i really been wanting to see and that's Batman v Superman. These are event films! Also, yes i got my tix to see SW in IMAX in NY but for next week.
2005 King Kong is one of my favorite movie's of all time. ah the memories behind that film.
I LOVED THE OPENING CRAWL. I said straighaway... its a Star Wars movie. Whoever wrote that, kudos.
When your question finally gets answered on movie talk!!!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>
The Goddess Mova returns! (And wearing a Grateful Dead shirt!?)
My God .... That thumbnail is freaking Perfect !! XD
+Craig Hicks I do quite like Farewell and the trip.
On repeat listens there are a few lovely moments but I certainly think it lacks any kind of gravitas. It's a very subdued Star Wars soundtrack.
Rey's theme & Jedi Steps are pretty cool
Thanks for the Review Guys! Guess I'll be interested in Seeing Star Wars : The Force Awakens after all! BTW Staying away from Forums and TH-cam Comments before seeing the Force Awakens so I can have the movie experience of a lifetime before talking about Spoilers related to the film so that my Hype and Interest in Episode VII isn't ruined.
Hearing Shnepp say "Ani, Ani" cracked me up
the thumbnail for this vid 10/10 👌😂
good morning! just woke up and i'm still excited about this movie, thats a rare thing AFTER you've actually seen the movie.
There's a new theater opening up with Star Wars where I live. No better movie for a grand opening of a theater. Very excited, can't wait, good times
Ashley Mova wearing a Grateful Dead v-neck!!?
I'm not a star wars fan I watched the prequels as a kid and wasn't impressed. when I heard that they were making this film I didn't give one fuck but hearing you guys talk about it is getting me hyped for it.
Kylo Ren is my favourite new character, I completely agree with everything John said!
I AM JON SCHNEPP. I agree with you on all points. SO FANTASTIC
Actually GSP did speak in WINTER SOLDIER, he spoke in french but he still spoke. You guys really need to start paying attention to stuff.
That's okay John, the movie is gonna be awesome no matter what. Love you, guys!!!!!!!
I loved Lupita Nyong'o's character - I just want a movie all about her and her world
Actually Jon, I'm almost entirely certain that Feige said in an interview that Marvel Studios is producing the film. As in, they are literally the production company making the film, replacing Columbia pictures. Sony maintains oversight, but it is both a Sony and Marvel movie. Sony Pictures distributes, Marvel Studios produces. This contrasts the other MCU films in that they were distributed by Disney/Paramount
Saw it twice tonight, J.J. can sleep happy knowing he made a good Star Wars movie. Can't wait for episode 8 and rogue one.
8.8/10
Hello from Thailand , I love the resistance X-wing fighters long take.
I think the strongest part of Star Wars : The Force Awakens is the cast
IMAX filming parts are the excellent choices.
May the force be with you.
Kylo Ren was such a bastard in this film, I loved it
not long home after seeing the force awakens and it is the best since 83.
I've seen the movie, in Italy came out the 16th. KYLO REN IS OUTSTANDING.
There was a rumor that most of Lupita's scenes were cut from the film. Is this true? I would assume not since she's been doing a ton of promotion for the film, but I just want to make sure.
