Wood carving feather _ wall hanging decor

This is a basic feather design that I'm carving today, and it's a beginner-friendly design. Simply grab a soft piece of wood, start with pine as I did, or choose another sort of wood like basswood, Only four carving tools are required: a V-shaped tool, a large gouge if possible, 25mm and 6mm chisels, and a mallet.
and a band saw is far better to a jig saw for cutting the feather shape, If you don't have any, you can carve the feather shape with your carving tools.

Great work. Really enjoyed it and subscribed. Carving question... I keep having trouble going across grain with v tool. Is there a technique? I have sharpened but still can get good results. Thoughts?

Thank you I appreciate your support, for the V tool i think you always got one side of it going with the grain and the other against it, unless you go straight with the grain of the board, the solution is sharpening and not go deeper down, as you can see in the video i care less about grain direction with the V tool haha, i hope you get a good result.
