You are amazing! I’m a 78 year old gentleman trying to learn a new hobby. But after watching you bring that feather to life, not so sure I’m up for this? I’ll follow you along and maybe get to the stage that a person will say, “that looks kind of like a feather”ha. 0:12
Hello. Can you do stitches in basswood to look like leather. I’m doing a gun holster in basswood. Struggling on how to do the stitches. Video is good too very informative. Tia.
I'm not bad at all in pyrography but compare to you... I'm like a little boy drawing at the day care. Congrate for your masterpieces and also for your knowledge and technics. You are making us better every time.
I giggled and pouted a little to this comment. Thank you for such kind words. I have come a long way and have felt the same compared to some of my favourite burners. Do me a favour, keep going! Believe me every piece gets better. I'm going to be posting some new videos soon. I hope you stay tuned and if you have any questions please email me if I don't answer in these comments... it can be difficult to keep up with the comments and working on orders balance
Yea I have a burnmaster and bought the bhp razor tip pens also many for the bhp. I have be careful cause it get very hot very quick. I don't like the skew or spear shape tips or they don't like me. Very easy to sink into the wood. I am sure with practice it would become more controllable.
Hey there! So I completely understand; maneuvering a skew tip, especially in softer woods can be difficult. They can also tend to follow grain patterns and can tricky to get to do what you like when just starting. Please don't get discouraged and remember let the heat leave the marks, not pressure. These pens do not require much pressure to control and pressure to increase the tone when burning. If you practice rolling your pen in your fingers when making curves, you can have better success in clean linework. I will be revamping my channel and getting back into posting. Ill be sure to tag you in a video about skews to help show what i mean :) Thank you for watching!
Hey there! The tip I'm using is one in the Bird Carvers' micro tip set made for the interchangeable tip pen for the Razortip Burning system. Link here: shop.razertip.com/products/sethd5bc
Thank you again for sharing your talents with us. You mentioned that you are using the skew from the Bird Carvers Micro 5 PC set. Did you purchase the Standard or the Heavy Duty set?
I'm not sure what you mean. 🤔 I would check the Razor tip website for clarity on your purchase first. I would watch my video on "Wood burning with a Hotwire System" which explains how the Razor tip pens are divided into standard and heavy duty. The inchangable pen is a heavy duty pen. I would recommend a heavy duty cord as well when using it. The tips themselves aren't normally described as standard or heavy. Only the pen. The name of the set is "Micro 5 Piece Set"
@@BURNTbyHollyPyrography Thank you. @ Razertip The Micro 5 Piece Set comes in a choice of Standard or Heavy Duty. I was wondering which set you had gotten the skew from which was mentioned around 10:06 min into the video? Thank you again for your time.
@@wendyshoults7355 thank you for clarifying you question. The exact tip out of the set I'm using is the small round skew #S7 of the standard Bird Carvers Micro tips 5 tip set.
I really enjoyed the detailed explanation, both of burning techniques and feather anatomy. The music doesn't add anything to the video though, and is very distracting, especially when the volume overpowers your voice. I had to struggle to hear what you were saying during the music.
Nice tutorial, looking forward to more. (subbed)
I'm grateful for the watch! Thank you so much for subscribing! LOTS more to come
Best tutorial on doing a feather I have found - thanks
