It is important to choose the right place that there is upward mobility, where ideas and creativity are rewarded and there isn't a top down management style. It would be a shame if you and your friend and co winner got stuck in such a place. It seems tech companies allow for it and old brick and mortar DOW industries do not.
Oooh, Ooh, If Angelo's on Mulberry St. is still open, you should eat there some time. I haven't been to NYC in years, but that was one of my go to places to eat. The owner used to occasionally walk around singing opera if the mood stuck him.

Both sides of Central Park, on Central Park West and Fifth Avenue, host wealthy neighborhoods. The Fifth Avenue side (i.e. East of Central Park) is a traditionally wealthy neighborhood (also known as the Museum mile, there are some urban "mansions" with in-house elevators ! and possibly with murals) while the West of Central Park side hosts a tony neighborhood for the nouveau riche media people. The Museum of Natural History is on Central Park West while the Metropolitan Museum of Art is on Fifth Avenue. We call the neighborhoods north of 72nd Street Uptown.

Hi Dari, I think you asked about things to do in Chicago. I lived there for 25 years and still own some apartment buildings there. Just got back from there and the weather was excellent so fingers crossed for good weather. Chicago is like a less dense, greener, and cleaner NYC. Friendly people and easy to get around. Many young people from the midwest start their careers there so its a fun place for young people and relatively inexpensive compared to NYC, Boston, etc. T'ings to do: (1) Chicago is known for architecture. I would take the architectural river tour; (2) Museums are great but the art museum is not as good as The Met; however the aquarium is amazing as is the Museum of Science and Technology. (2) A real Foodie town. Chicago has some of the nation/s best restaurants so I would figure out what you would like to try. (3) Second City. Chicago has a long history of producing comics in the US so I would check out "Second City" where many famous comedians trained. Always fun to go there for comedy skits and drinks. (4) Music. Major live music center as well so I would check out The Reader (entertainment newspaper) to see who is playing where. Chicago has a great jazz and blues music scene. For Jazz, I would go to The Green Mill and for electric blues I would go to Kingston Mines on Halsted Both are always fun and on public transportation north of Downtown. (5) Great shopping on the Michigan Avenue known as "The Magnificent Mile." (6) Weather permitting the beaches are very close, on public transportation and very nice...probably too cold for May though but you could just walk them and see all the young people out in the park, riding bikes, go to the zoo, by the lake, etc. I like to visit Universities and feel that Northwestern has one of the most lovely campuses right on the lake...on public transportation as well. If you have a car, you can drive up Lake Shore Drive and head up north on Sheridan Avenue to see Northwestern and the lovely mansions close to the lake...I used to love just driving up there with the heavy wood, bending streets and wonderful homes. Weather is not great sometimes but Chicago is my favorite major city in the USA. Much more fun than Boston. Dave in Boston ...formerly Dave in Chicago 😉

Hi Dari, I think you asked about things to do in Chicago. I lived there for 25 years and still own some apartment buildings there. Just got back from there and the weather was excellent so fingers crossed for good weather. Chicago is like a less dense, greener, and cleaner NYC. Friendly people and easy to get around. Many young people from the midwest start their careers there so its a fun place for young people and relatively inexpensive compared to NYC, Boston, etc. T'ings to do: (1) Chicago is known for architecture. I would take the architectural river tour; (2) Museums are great but the art museum is not as good as The Met; however the aquarium is amazing as is the Museum of Science and Technology. (2) A real Foodie town. Chicago has some of the nation/s best restaurants so I would figure out what you would like to try. (3) Second City. Chicago has a long history of producing comics in the US so I would check out "Second City" where many famous comedians trained. Always fun to go there for comedy skits and drinks. (4) Music. Major live music center as well so I would check out The Reader (entertainment newspaper) to see who is playing where. Chicago has a great jazz and blues music scene. For Jazz, I would go to The Green Mill and for electric blues I would go to Kingston Mines on Halsted Both are always fun and on public transportation north of Downtown. (5) Great shopping on the Michigan Avenue known as "The Magnificent Mile." (6) Weather permitting the beaches are very close, on public transportation and very nice...probably too cold for May though but you could just walk them and see all the young people out in the park, riding bikes, go to the zoo, by the lake, etc. I like to visit Universities and feel that Northwestern has one of the most lovely campuses right on the lake...on public transportation as well. If you have a car, you can drive up Lake Shore Drive and head up north on Sheridan Avenue to see Northwestern and the lovely mansions close to the lake...I used to love just driving up there with the heavy wood, bending streets and wonderful homes. Weather is not great sometimes but Chicago is my favorite major city in the USA. Much more fun than Boston. Dave in Boston ...formerly Dave in Chicago 😉
