    I am a Storm fan but after reading Billy’s autobiography it’s pretty clear he wants to coach Broncos. He was an absolute die hard fan growing up as a kid and never got to debut for bronx. Probably comes home to us after the broncos

    As a sharks supporter so surprised no one has picked flanagan up yet as a head coach took us from bottom of the ladder to consistent top 4/8 side most sharks supporters were spewin when he got sacked because we know how good he is

    I don't why Billy would want to be a full time coach, his gig at 9 and Origin coach is pretty sweet

    How the hell is Doust still on the board at that club? Flanagan is their best option in my opinion. A proven and experienced head coach.

    I think Slater wants to build more coaching experience as a Qld coach before taking on a nrl club role. It’s a smart move by him and I wish him the best.

    If Flanno is the best choice, and I believe he is, the Dragons will appoint someone else. As a Dragons supporter, I can’t see them making the right choice, based on previous decisions.

      Only 4/5 coaches better than flanno for me id take him tomorrow at the broncos. He builds tough teams with average players. He’s like an ALDI Wayne Bennett

    Why would Slater go to a team who can't get their house in order. They've been a train wreck for years. Never looked after their juniors. Get rid of the board and start again.

    Dragons tragic, Flanno's by far the smartest choice in my opinion. Des has been a failure in his last two gigs (no rings with Manly 2nd stint & dogs),
    Flanno's a proven winner & has experience with the majority of our current top 30 so he's already got a head start vs any other coach. Doust needs to pull his head out of the sand 😒.

    Am a Dragons fan and think Flanagan deserves a shot and yes he served his sentence. But Kenty cant use the "he took them to a premiership" when he used Peptides and doped up his roster en masse... worst than salary cap breaches in my opinion

  • @cvarikos
    @cvarikos ปีที่แล้ว +3

    They always pick the photo of Flanagan where he looks slightly 'unhinged'. The premiership at the Sharks is arguably the greatest achievement in the modern era in any sport. So brushing him like a mushroom is a little bit how you say 'dumb'.

    Rebuilds are really not that complicated in rugby league if you have the cattle. It's not like soccer which has a swathe of different tactical philosophies, stating formations, and physical profiles of players. Rugby league is far simpler and more monotonous than that - every team features the exact same positions. You put your big guys in the forwards, your brains at hooker and halves, and your athletes in the back line. That's it.
    Griffin should be performing better with the squad he has, and that's the simple bottom line. They lack discipline and they lack fortitude. You can always trace the evidence of those traits back to good coaching.
    If Hunt and Lawrie think their coach deserves more time then that's up to themselves and their team mates to justify, because for 3 years now the team has done a pretty piss poor job of it.
    I've never seen a good NRL coach need a rebuild when he has enough cattle. They're a top 8 team with better coaching.

      He’s not, Bellamy said he was the most likely to be a good coach though and I think he has one of the most brilliant minds in rugby league. The game was overdue a new Gus Gould type and I think billy sort of has that aura and intelligence to do whatever role
      Not the right club though for his first gig you’re right.

    • @glenwilkie5765
      @glenwilkie5765 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Aussie Abroad yeah I'd agree with that.
      Just was strange not hearing any of the panel object to the dragons approaching Slater.
      I like Slater but could forsee his first coaching job at the dragons easily going up in smoke within 12 months.

    • @nichobee
      @nichobee ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not like he'd be taking the reigns at the Tigers, the dragons were 12 and 12 last year

    • @glenwilkie5765
      @glenwilkie5765 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Nick Black I'd still question Slater's appointment at a club going better than 12 and 12 though. What coaching experience does he have other than 1 origin series? He hasn't been assistant under anyone yet, surely he needs to pay his dues somewhere.
      Playing under Bellamy would've helped him, not sure that's enough though.

    • @glenwilkie5765

      @Nick Black look at all the other ex players going for head coaching jobs, they've all had extensive roles under great head coaches for a number of years.

    Doust is a Dinosaur and a huge reason the Dragons are stagnant, him and the rest of the board have to go, they will get flogged this weekend in Canberra, see in Ben thinks they're still going in the right direction then.
