It was definitely something more special and heartfelt about games in the 90’s and early 2000’s. You can just tell by The music. The imaginations of the developers were on another level compared to this generation
they really did there best with what they had at the time and put alot of tlc into it. modern games are mostly fluff with good graphics. to be fair there are some amazing modern games but others just lack that special something and its not just MuH NoStAlGia talking.

This was my childhood, I still hum that opening theme to this day and such an underrated soundtrack and while the controls were kinda wonky its an instant classic for me.
I got a PS1 for a Xmas present as a kid and it came with Croc, Spyro, Crash and Rayman. All great games and many fun times had. I feel like this one has aged the worst though!
Are they harder than the classic Resident Evil tank controls? At least this game has a camera that can be rotated instead of fixed camera view like in RE or some of the early SH games. Parasite eve was another fixed camera ps1 title I recall but at least the movement controls were oriented based on the direction of the screen. Don't see many modern games created with those types of controls
@@StevenCodeBlack I never played Parasite eve 1 but I played the 2nd and I remember the controls being not too bad, I was 12 tho so I didnt really know what a good controlling game was. I personally never had a problem with the original Resident evil and its tank controls, I think because it used pre rendered backrounds instead of the more open environment of Croc I had an easier time controlling RE. Again I was around 12 so I'm probably remembering wrong.
@@Lrr_Of_Omikron Looking at this type of game I don't get how tank controls would work with as you say a more open 3d environment game that has a rotatable camera that isn't fixed on a pre rendered background. Either way I'm able to get used to controls the part I can't deal with is when the game is either too short and cuts content out or tries to release it with parts of the main game packaged as separate DLC packs etc... or rounding off corners when remaking them on newer gen systems. I haven't played this particular game since I was 7 or 8 maybe? But one thing I actually had a hard time with getting used to control wise was my first time playing Metal Gear Solid how X was cancel or back and Circle was confirm or enter.

Most controllers has the right button, O for play station and B for xbox to go back than nintendo has to be different and "switch" them. Maybe that's why they called it switch.
@@Lrr_Of_Omikron Well does whichever button is on the right on the switch in correlation to the O and B on PS and XBoX controller still do the same function as those buttons on PS and XBoX do? I wouldn't care if SONY put the X button at the top and the triangle button at the bottom as long as the triangle button at the bottom still did the same thing as the X button did on the previous version PS controllers, I remember when I had to take a ps4 controller apart belonging to my friend's lil bro to fix it after he raged and threw it messing up one of the L2 or R2 buttons in order to get the button back in place and just to troll him we put the X where the triangle goes and the Square and Circle in each other's spots. It still worked afterwards at least lmao
I wanted to love this game.. But the tank controls make it kind of frustrating. It’s still a good game, just incredibly flawed and somewhat outdated in cases. The music is incredible though
@@RetroGameSpacko I’m not too fond of the DualShock. It’s an ok controller but the sticks feel like a dog’s nose and for ps1 games i prefer using the SCPH-1080 (the original controller without analog sticks)
