Don't forget to buy a 2nd pair of your muck boots & wash those boots out with some vinegar and air dry out. Wear breathable material socks. Buy a foot brush & scrub em good every shower. I have to get my husband to soak his feet in epsom salts or he'll just deal with the pain. We tend to neglect our feet. Love to you and glad you're healing up! Jason is amazing & an inspiration too!

2016 I had endometrial cancer. Was told total hysterectomy and 2 lymph nodes as 1 was showing up on CAT scan. 2018 after a long journey to go organic and rid toxins, I developed lymphedema in my right abdomen. New oncologist says 21 lymph nodes removed from both sides. I'll live with this forever. My abilities are forever restricted due to pain. Educate yourself! Live better or risk illness. Sometimes you can't come back from them but may lose your quality of life.

Learning to accept that you can’t get everything done will help you in later years. As I got older I was frustrated that I couldn’t get as much done as I could the year before. But I have accepted and am grateful with whatever God gives me the energy and strength to do, all that I was meant to get accomplished in a day. With grace, I will have another day to accomplish what is meant to be done that day.

Justin I am totally moved by this viedeo and many others you have put out. I am on my own journey of returning back to helath and listening and watching stories like your family and Jasons helps to inspire me and motivate me to take care of myself and work towards my goals. I once was a farmer, I once produced 80-90% of my food for my family and served other families also. I know this may sound Korny but you all have become part of my self care my therapy. Thank you from the botteom of my Heart.

One of the (unpleasant) things that I had to do around aged 38, and with my parent having congestive heart failure, and me having foot issues was to start wearing compression stockings daily. It sucked. Being used to being barefoot or just throw on sandals and ready to go. But, doctors recommended and soon I came to realize my feet were better on days when I did wear them, and worse when I did not. EVERYONE, is recommended over 50 to wear them, or if you are on your feet all day or flying on an airplane. And my feet were worse then yours, I was walking like an 80 year old and eventually had surgical repair on both feet (haglands deformity) and repairing achilles tendon. Still, with your often wearing of rubber boots...yes I see your plan of wearing sandals but they have crap for support of your feet and the idea of those being used to trail run is for 20 year olds. Your feet are hugely important and feet issues can quickly lead to back issues. If you are going to wear sandals go for something with more support for your feet. Drying them OK, but if that is your footwear you are planning for your full days of work, everyday, I think you are going to set yourself up for more issues.
Like you are always saying, do something even if it isn't perfect. Just do something. I think the ideal would be for you to have some sort of insoles (superfeet) in your rubber boots. (Maybe you do already). Then a thin compression stocking (surgical stockings. com, not $50 a pair), and then a thicker wool blend outer sock. Before getting socks on in morning and before bed, check your feet and use something like gold bond powder. Best wishes in your continual journey. Be who you seek to be: one moment, one breath, one step at a time.

I learned this lesson through watching others in my family. Self care is very important. I hace had to remind myself that I cant do everything and that I need to ask for help with the chores when I am working myself to hard. I get so wrapped up with all the things and the children. Thank you for reminding me. God Bless you all.

My husband had a callous tear that turned septic. Long story short: he lost his foot, vision, career, but narrowly escaped with his life. I’m so glad to see this clip about living life differently and taking your health into your own hands.
Word of warning: part of the reason my husbands infection went septic was because the swelling went down and his redness & heat disappeared. He thought it was getting better so he didn’t go to the doctor until a month later he thought he was sick. His whole body was shutting down. Please consider going back to a doctor to make sure that the infection is gone before assuming that visual improvements are indicating a cure.

My sweet young man....as I tell my grown children, GOD will slow you down. HE takes care of you. HE knows you and HE loves you so much. Sometimes we get it and sometimes we go back to the same thing we were doing before and we wonder why we get the same result. You get it! Take care of yourself and keep taking care of your family and farm, BUT, restructure it all to benefit your health, mind, body and soul. Your Beautiful One and your children would rather have you around forever than to see you fall ill or worse, die from an infection, that got worse and painful, because you were so busy. I speak in love, at my age ( late sixties) you learn a lot. Just sharing. Love and Blessings from Texas.

This is your best video yet! I enjoy your channel...but I often come away thinking "MAN that man has to slow his roll"! Yes it is good to be busy, but from what I see it feels like you are running and gunning so hard for health in one way, but yet it seems like you are shooting yourself in the foot.....ironic how that saying actually totally applied now that you had this foot issue. But that is what impresses me so much about this vlog! You recognized it! You now see what is the point of running yourself ragged to grow healthy food to be healthy if in the process your health suffers....crazy how we try to maximize too much to the point that we end up defeating our purpose. You have no idea how much this video helped me realize something in my own life that I was struggling with....and now it sealed the deal for me from what you stated here. Wonderful! Thank Rhodes Family!!! I am excited for you and your families new found perspective!

Change is sometimes a terrifying thing as we have usually grown accustomed to the old. However, even a small seemingly insignificant modification of our "normal" is change! The continual accumulation of these small modifications is how we create for ourselves a new lifestyle, a new mindset, and our own new "normal". I encourage everyone, just as a large journey begins with a single step, our journey to a new healthier, more fulfilling, more enjoyable lifestyle starts with that first small change! Thank you Justin for putting this in front of us and making us examine our own lives and reevaluating where we are and where we want to be!

wise words Jason. If we do not take care of ourselves, we cannot help others. It isn't selfish to take care of ourselves...reality is, when we don't and then become a situation for others to tend to us...that's true selfishness. You're also teaching your children to have a healthy self-care education for themselves and their future families.

I love the messages you’re spreading about searching for causation. As a pharmacist and practitioner in the medical field I agree, so many of our ailments can be solved by better food (real food), better sleep, better physical activity... all of these things are immensely important in keeping our one body in the best shape, as long as possible. If only every patient/person wanted to put in the work to get healthier. Most just want a quick fix and want the easy way out, which is probably why Jason’s doctor said what he did. Anyways, glad your foot is doing better. Hope the kitchen keeps trucking along. Have a wonderful day. :)

YAY! Self care is the best care. I am a perfectionist and I tend to overdo things if I don't stay mindful about what is going on in my life. As a person closer to 50 than 40 I can tell you right now that no matter how fit you are, the older you get, the more you MUST do self care to remain healthy and to keep your body working for you. You may find out that you have to make bigger diet changes than you want; that you just can't do as much as you did 10 years ago; that you have to delegate more (thank goodness for those amazing kids!!) or that you have to downsize your projects and your expectations. And ALL OF IT is frustrating! LOL You are taking the first steps and that's enough. Better IS better!

Congratulations 500K Wow what a journey you and your family have been on. It's been a lot of hard work❤️ blood shed, tears, but more then that it has also been filled with JOY...laughter to celebrate all the hurdles. Thank you and your family for showing the world what a family can do when you come together as a unit. YES, it is a lot of work, but there is so much JOY and appreciation that comes from it all. The experiences and memories that will be had as each child and even the parents will be cherished for the rest of their lives. Sometimes during all of the hard work we don't realize what we really have😬. We can miss the whole thing...which also make me think of ...Our Father above who is so patient, so understanding, so forgiving, but most of ALL he loves us no matter what.
Your videos as well as several other u-tubers that have joined in to share their stories have been so encouraging❤️ ... To see like minded people all over the world not just in the states but out of country, getting the message not only "to plant something, anything" but even a deeper realization that "FAMILY, Friends...COMMUNITY is important❤️. We ALL, each one bring a uniqueness a treasure, that only we can share. Thank you Justin, The Beautiful one, with your family, for stepping out there to tell your story with the world, it can definitely be a scary thing. Thank you for also being an encourager for other U-tubers to just share their story and thank you for being REAL and sharing from your heart even when it isn't pleasant. Thank you for showing the ups, downs, ins, outs, life is messy and that's okay. The important thing is that we keep pushing forward, which is not always easy and can take longer then we can think or Imagine. But it is in the journey not the destination, this is one resounding lesson I am learning and will continue to learn, as I believe others feel the same❤️ May we ALL TAKE the time to enjoy the journey ...The world can be a better place with each precious UNIQUE individual❤️ One step at a time. Blessings, Peace and Love to All

Ok, I am seriously laughing out loud here at the end. I was fully engrossed until the cow absolutely stole the show! Now, I'm going to have to play it a second time just to hear what you said. I missed everything after a certain point. She was trying so hard to get your attention after the alfalfa pellets ran out and watching you intently as you recorded your vlog. Loved it. I do want to say though that I'll have to go look for Jason's video if he told his own story. Very impressive viewpoint. My mother also was a strong cancer survivor, in fact, she beat it to death and went when SHE decided to go; it couldn't steal that from her. 30 years after her first diagnosis.

Very simple, natural solution done in every military basic training camp or sports locker room across the country. While in the shower, pee on your foot. I've had doctors tell me this also. Sometimes i get a soar between the toes, simple rubbing alcohol on q-tip. Burns, but dried up in one day.
