So sorry about your Dad. I just had a return of Melanoma and a new sarcoma, ups the game and the emotion when it comes back. Hope the treatment is not too difficult for him and gives him many years to enjoy those grandkids and all the special things and times that are shared only with a grandparent.
Rebekah your hair looks beautiful! Lilly has a heart for small animals, she is so gentle and sweet with them. All your children have special unique gifts. When Mr. Brown made the observation on the pig video, about Joel Salatin and the number of pigs he has, I said WOW! Man Mr. Brown was only what 3 or 4 years old when you guys made that visit to Salatin' farm; yet here it is two years later and he's connecting the dots! That was simply incredible! Justin and Rebekah your family legacy will certainly be an incredible one. Love watching you guys!
So sorry to hear your Dad's cancer is back. My own Dad battled cancer for about twenty years. He has been cancer free for four years thank to a new cancer fighting medication. Always care for our folks, right? Love you all.

Glad you got the chain sorted out. When the saw is working correctly and sharp, it should be throwing out chips that look like hash browns. When they come out like flour and especially burnt time for a sharpening. I usually touch up my blade every 30min of cutting, or after accidental contact with metal, stone etc. Have the correct diameter file for your chain, lock the blade, and hit all the teeth on top of the bar, all one side first, then down the other side. Unlock the chain, use the file to hook the first unsharpened tooth around the nose of the chain, pull it backward close to the saw body, then lock the chain to do the next set of teeth. With practice you can get a basic touch up down to a couple minutes, and the payoff is huge in cutting time saved.
When I was Jonahs age I was already really good with wood, so my shop teacher taught me metalworking skills. Forging, hardening, tempering, soldering, brazing, welding, drilling, threading etc. Parlayed this into a career working with machines, and I still use these skills decades later for projects, hobbies, repairs etc.

So glad you finally have a cooler/refrigerator area. Al on Lunmah Acres built his several years ago. It would be a shame for you to lose your groceries to spoilage without this new area in lower barn area.
Try using a fish net to catch the chickens. It is way easier and less stressful on the bird.

Idea, which you may already be going to use these in your new walk in freezer but I'd use metal shelves because they hold and promote cold unlike wood which doesn't hold cold like metal does,

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I saw that in the last video. My dad had caner and got treatment, but the radiation caused the bone in his leg to deteriorate and left it hollow from the hip down. Radiation actually causes cancer cells to multiply at a faster rate the more you do it. Please ask him to have his bone density checked as well as take loads of vitamins and cancer fighting foods.

The China Study, among other highly respected health and diet books, would suggest strongly that animal foods are connected with cancer as is refined foods and foods cooked at high temperatures. Produce is inversely correlated with cancer - it prevents it. Maybe for your sakes and your kids, possibly even to help your dad, you guys should go whole plant foods - it'd be a big shift, since animals seem to be your thing, but you could make some sort of transition. Animals could still be used just not eaten by you. Or at least like once a week or something. Just an idea - but you guys are awesome and you have a wide reach, so you could help a lot of other people. Thanks for making the videos and connecting people to the land and producing something in a sustainable way.
