Depending on the kite, the wind, or the venue, I have string lengths of 25ft, 50ft, 75ft and 100ft. I use 50 ft most often -- plenty of length to have time to set up tricks, but close enough to really see what's going on with your kite and the lines.

Hi, can you explain the uses and benefits of a triangle kite vs a foil kite? Can you still trick a coil kite like you can the more rigid kites?
A rigid spar kite (a triangle kite) is capable of many many more tricks and manipulations than a foil kite.
