This man is a Hit Machine !!!!
My god but "Everything I do.."... I quite possibly haven't heard it in decades and I am still completely sick of hearing it and hope I never do again! The amount of radio play over the amount of time I was No. 1 .. I must have heard it hundreds and hundreds of times I just 3 or 4 months and seem to have developed a lifetime physical aversion to it
The biggest Canadian band which every single Canadian knows and you have probably never heard of is the Tragically Hip. After their lead singer was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, they played a final tour. Their final concert was televised commercial-free by our public broadcaster, CBC, and it was the second-most-watched event in Canadian history after the Vancouver gold medal men's hockey game. I recommend 'New Orleans is Sinking'.
Aww. I loved The Hip too. Growing up outside of Buffalo, NY, I preferred to listen to 102.1 The Edge out of Toronto, and that's where I discovered them and several indie artists. RIP Gord Downie.
So glad you commented this. Bryan Adams is a hit machine; but The Hip is the heart of Canada. We went to a pub in Victoria to watch the final concert and I think the whole bar was crying on Gord’s final song.
This is the only time I can remember hearing this song where it didn't fade out, which is weird to me, because I went through a phase when I was a kid where all I listened to was Bryan Adams. I'm Canadian, and when I was in the sixth grade (or grade six, as we Canadians would say), I was tasked with writing a paper on a famous Canadian, and I was one of several students in my class who chose Bryan Adams. My mom used to go to a used cassette store, and for a while whenever I went there with her she would let me buy one tape, and I invariably chose a Bryan Adams album. I used to own the album Reckless on cassette, and I swear this is the first time I've ever heard the title track end without a fade-out.
Agreed Nancy. But if they had actually picked that song as their first one Bryan Adams would probably never get play on this channel again. I was a great hit it got old really fast
This is one of my favorite songs for several different reasons: 1) The sound; 2) the lyrics; 3) Bryan Adams voice; and last, but not least 4) the summer of '69 actually was the best summer of my childhood.
I gotta say, THANK YOU, for letting it finish! I’ve heard this a million times on the radio over the years, and they never let it play out. Always fading it out, and talking over the end.
This song is one the most popular karaoke songs. His voice is instantly recognisable. He’s amazing live and immensely talented- he’s practically a hit song producing machine. I’m sure you’ve heard him many times passing by. He’s probably less popular than other big bands and singers because he likes to stay under the radar. He just likes what he does and that’s all he cares about. He’s a very humble person- I’ve been fortunate to meet him in person and he was so down to earth.
🎂Happy Birthday Ryan Bryan Adams recently re-recorded 2 Kiss songs that he co-wrote in 1982 for their album 'Creatures of the night' - "Rock and roll hell" ... and 'War machine' (both originally sung by Gene Simmons) Some of his best tunes include - 'Run to you' ... 'Heaven' ... "Can't stop this thing we started"... 'Cuts like a knife'... His biggest hits were ballads like - '(Everything I do) I do it for you'
This has been one of my all-time favorite songs since I was 5 years old. This is actually a newer, re-recorded version. The original hits harder for some reason. Oh, and happy birthday, Ryan!
I always think of this song as a montage of the hits from the summer of 1985. I was going into high school that year and songs like this, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Shout, Glory Days, Walking on Sunshine, etc... bring me back to that time of my life. Which by the way, was a pretty good time too. Nice reaction!
What the heck version was this? A re-recording? A live version? I'm not complaining, I'm just so used to the original version. He's got so much ear candy! * !!!!! One Night Love Affair (the best example of a song of this kind ever written. So freaking memorable.) * Run to You * Cuts Like A Knife (good old American boy anthem rock) * This Time
This is a re- recorded version of the original. He recorded it and some other songs few years ago. What’s amazing about it is that he sounds just as good as in the original version. You can only tell by few bits during the songs where it sounds different. His voice still sounds great.
Jim Vallance co wrote this - he lives down the street from my parents. This summer my daughter went sailing with Bryan's brother, and his 20yr old son. The biggest musician out of Vancouver.
Brian Adams is unquestionably one of the most underated performers and song writers...ever. Check out his catalogue. His duet of, "It's Only Love", with, Tina Turner is awesome.
“Man, we were killin' time We were young and restless We needed to unwind I guess nothing can last forever Forever, “ Whole songs brings me back in time, especially this verse.
Happy Birthday Ryan! So many great songs by him. All for Love with Rod Stewart any Sting is definitely one y'all need to check out. Run to You Everything I Do Heaven Cuts Like A Knife When You Love Someone..... all bangers
Fun Fact: Adams wrote this with the songwriter Jim Vallance, who wrote several Aerosmith songs and often collaborated with Adams. On his website, Vallance explains that the song went through a number of changes, and it was originally called "Best Days Of My Life," with the line "Summer Of '69" appearing just once in the lyrics. Vallance feels that the Jackson Browne song "Running On Empty," which contains the lyrics, "In '69 I was 21," was a subconscious influence on their writing, and that Adams may have been influenced by the movie Summer Of '42.
Wow, that is so cool to learn. I always had this song in the same category as "Running on Empty" in my mind, and so I never questioned how young Bryan Adams would have actually been in 1969.
Bryan has said in interviews this song was not about the summer of 1969, he was only 10 then. It was about something else 😁 I just saw him earlier this year on tour and he still puts on a great show with a great band. Some call him the Canadian Springsteen.
I appreciate well written songs like this. Another great metal song with the same theme is Death- Sacred Serenity About the perspective of innocence of our childhood or our pets even. They cherish life with no concern of time and most of us look fondly back at those memories
85/86 and my old convertible, I don't know how many times this was played. I haven't heard this for a quite a while and it mean way more now. I do miss drive ins!
Edit: Happy belated birthday 🎉 Many wonderful tracks listed by others to choose from. Our family’s favorites, while not entirely performed by Mr. Adam’s is the soundtrack for Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. His voice, Hans Zimmers orchestration - gives us chills. From rebellious tracks like ‘You can’t take me’, ‘Get off of my back’, unbelievable soundscapes like ‘Run Free’ (no vocals) and heartfelt ballads like ‘Brothers under the Sun’, and ‘I Will always return’, hit us in the feels every time.
I was introduced to Bryan Adams like most in the Early 90s with the mega hit Robin Hood soundtrack, that song was everywhere!! Ome of the best soundtrack songs of all time.
Happy birthday Ryan! Thanks so much for your hard work on giving us these amazing videos over the years. The channel and the energy you bring to it has been something I find myself coming back to over and over when I'm feeling good OR bad always feeling better afterwards. You're one cool, fly dude. Happy birthday!
I was born in 70 so this reminds me of highschool! I even saw Bryan on this album tour. I've heard he's just as great guy as he is a performer. Happy Belated Birthday! Y'all are great, always fun.
Hey, Happy birthday there, Ryan!! Based on how you describe his younger years, I’ll guess this isn’t the 1st time he’s worked on his birthday. Bryan Adams, “Run To You” is a rockin’ tune! Keep up the great work, guys.
Happy birthday to the man! This song always reminds me a lot of Springsteen's Glory Days and Mellencamp's Small Town... those nostalgic songs about life
In general, I'm really not into listening to Bryan Adams, but he has a few songs that are undeniable. This is the main one. I never turn this one off. I turn it up.
My late brother was such a huge fan of Bryan Adams. He was 10 years older and he was teen when Reclkless was a hit. Like Star Wars, Bryan Adams just a part of my childhood because I toddled after him 😂 So many great songs. He was still big during my teen years too. I would love to see him live one day. Anytime I’m in the car and he’s played on the radio (esp his 80s) I feel like it’s a happy musical visit with my brother. Cute like a knife. Y’all need to check that out with the music video. During my brothers visitation they decided to play some of his favorite 80s music and Adams was definitely included.
My brother used to see him when he was a nobody in a small club outside Vancouver in a city called Burnaby. That's where Brian is from. He said everyone use to call him Ross...
Bryan Adams was very popular when I was growing up. He and others had great hits! Thanks for bringing me back to my school years and making me feel old...lol
For Bryan Adams; Run to You is the jam for sure.
These fellas would love Run to You.
100%!
OOOH BUT HER LOVE IS COOOLD
If they ever played GTA Vice city they would immediately recognize this song. Lol. Still worth it , and a great song!
Not for me. Baby When You’re Gone is my shit, lol
One of the greatest voices in rock, he still has it too. So many freaking huge hits too.
This is the Classic version actually. Recorded last year I think.
His voice isn't that great but he certainly does have some bangers!
How is this comment from 9 months ago when the video dropped 3 days ago??

Love Everything I do since I watched the Kevin Costner Robin Hood
Cuts Like A Knife
I forgot how many good ones he had but I mainly like his earlier stuff .

The amount of radio play over the amount of time I was No. 1 .. I must have heard it hundreds and hundreds of times I just 3 or 4 months and seem to have developed a lifetime physical aversion to it
Heaven and Everything I Do are the most essential.
Happy birthday, Ryan!
The duet with Queen Tina, "It's Only Love" is an absolute BANGER.
∆ This! ∆
The live video between the two is smolderingly hot.
Fantastic duet. One of the best.
The duet with Sporty Spice "When You're Gone" is good too
Came to say this! The video of Tina's concert where she calls him to come out is so good. ❤
Cuts Like A Knife and Run To You. Happy Birthday, Ryan.
Guys this isn’t the original version, it’s a recent re-recording.
i was wondering about that...sounds very little like the original to me
Yeah the outro is very different than the original.
Can even hear a bit of auto-tune!
TY!! I thought something sounded off about this version. It sounds too stale and over/re-produced.
Sounds terrible.
“HEAVEN” ❤ one of the greatest love songs of the 80’s
Saw him in '85... still going strong today. His song Run To You would be good next.
Happy Birthday, Ryan! Been watching you guys for seven plus years. Much love and appreciation to you both!
Never heard Brian Adams? Soundtrack of my youth. I'm a metal head and I love Brian.
Also, Ryan you were brought up right. Good job to your dad😃
Saw him literally 5 times in the 80s. He opened for a ton of bands back in the day. Love him and this song.
Yep. Actually saw him open for Foreigner about 10 years ago.

It definitely sounded a little different to me. Still great! But different.
Yeah this is a modern rerecording, I can hear the pitch correction which didn't exist back then
Bryan Adams' song (Everything I Do) I Do It For You on the Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves soundtrack in 1991 was HUGE.
Great suggestion
Yeah, it’s a ballad, but no, it’s THE ballad.
Seeing that music video at the end of the movie when I was 5 years old changed my life.
That's his next most-overplayed song on radio. It was great the first million times; after that it got a little old. But, great song!
