    Here is more information about the Bias knob from the developer himself: Regarding BIAS is the amount of current needed to overcome the recorded material, so if the Erase head is OFF, the magnetic disk contains relics recording that are going to fight with incoming material with LEVEL "INPUT". The more is high (the bias) the more INPUT level must be high, but of course you are going to saturate!
    The recoding is always atomic, something is recorded (with swell/feedback) or not, The BIAS doesn't mix signal incoming and signals on disk, or one or the other, and can be from 1 single sample to 10 seconds, who knows!
    So there are infinite combinations

    I have to take a moment a say Thank You for sharing your wealth of knowledge , it has become large in my vcv experience , i tend to retain much of your lesson type videos ,they are great for the uninitiated, and uninformed. Thanks for these videos !!

    Another masterclass, every time an education. Many thanks Omri, without your tutorials I would have given up on this on day one:-)

    an dthe bias knob works when the erase is off. it controls the amount of incoming signal which ends up overwriting the signal already on the disk.
    It's essentially a "strength of the signal being recorded" knob, and is analogous to how hard you would mash a typewriter key when you're trying to overwrite something already on the paper.

      Thanks! But I have to be honest, I tried all sorts of stuff with this knob, but didn't get actual results... I will dig deeper...

      @@OmriCohen-Music to have some result, decrease slowly the input level , there will be a level that will fight with the bias level, so something will be recorded and something not if there is signal already on magnetic disk (so you need ERASE HEAD off)

    Good lord. It's like a Mellotron, from the future instead of the past. Wow.

    I'm getting all kinds of unpleasant clicking sounds. Maybe because I'm using it with a sampler?

    • @OmriCohen-Music
      @OmriCohen-Music  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That can be yes because the sound is cut not at the zero crossing.
