Pretty cool idea mate 👍🏼. My bro & I do maintenance and we were just talking a couple days ago that we need some type of table on our tailgates to work off of. Might have to look into this now! Cheers…
I’ve just started gathering stuff to make the tail gate table, got Bunnings to cut the wood to size for me. Into the aluminium shop tomorrow with the boards to get them to make stainless tops for them
ive made so many tables, always used wood and they end up warping and i end up throwing on the firewood pile, but thats because i leave them on the back of the ute, marine ply might last a little longer, love the plastic cover
Hello Josh. Greetings from the USA. I am in the middle of designing something similar. Instead of rotating it out, I want it to fold it back on top of the tailgate itself, with the help of the door hinges. I am not there yet but have purchased the 17 inches by 6-foot piece of pine wood board. The Pine board is 3/8 inch thick and is pretty solid. I will put some kind of clear coat on both sides to keep it weatherproof. My truck is Nissan Frontier King Cab. Nismo off-road. I liked your idea and will research it some more. I am trying to locate those latches you used. Is there a specific brand name for those?
That was my thought as soon as I saw the clamps that hold the table when not in use. Be a buggier if every time you need to get to the draw you gotta open the table out the way and that left drawer looked like it wouldn’t fully open.
Hey mate love the table looks mint! Q. Does the table foul the drawer from opening up or is there enough clearance that it comes out over the top? Cheers
Nathaniel Powell thanks mate It would clear the table but it fouls on the latch It doesn’t bother me though because the stuff at the back of the draw isn’t stuff I need once I’m set up at camp

Looks good great idea having it store flat against the tail gate

Yea man, can’t see why it wouldn’t work. Give it a crack 🤙🏼
Nice work mate, how handy is that. I noticed you don't have a tailgate strut, does your tailgate work well and hold without it?
do your draws still open with the table closed? my draws go real close to the tail gate i doubt mine would open i have the same draws?
