    you can use the long pipe as a handle to open pipe and use oil spray rust remover

      I had sprayed the pipe with penetrating oil. I didn't have a cheater bar, but once I removed that vent it actually became the cheater bar I used on the rest of the house, haha.

    Next time put your pipe wrench closer to the fitting. They was painful to watch. Pipe wrench in the middle of the pipe is working against yourself. Always get as close to the threads or fitting as possible.

      I figured this out later. This is one of those subtle growing pains from learning to do something new.
