During Maul's hallway rampage, a clone shouts "Ridge is down!". Darth Vader had no reason to go to some backwater world just to inspect an old Clone Wars era wreck. But Anakin, Anakin had to know what happened to his Padawan, Rex and all the men of the 501st.
I dont think he did it to find out what happened, at least not the main reason. Remember they started to hunt the jedi and anything related so its an insight as to why they were searching, to find any clue possible that leads to what happened
It's just such a shame it didn't come out before Rebels. Imagine how much more intense the finale would have been if we didn't know whether Ahsoka and Rex lived or not!

46:10 I think it's that much more impactful since Vader in that moment is holding a blue saber; the color of a Jedi and specifically the same color as Anakin. I can't help but think that the whole reason Dave Filoni changed Ahsoka's saber color for this arc was for that one scene.
Rex wasn't mind tricked in the movie. He always had a strong mind, something that Ventress didn't see coming. He pretended to be mind tricked but broke protocol when he did as she asked and called Anakin by his first name in order to tip him off.
I always love interpreting vader/Anakins thought at that end scene. I feel like he has a hidden wish for her to stay hidden. Like he thinks to himself " I'll kill you if i find you, so please stay hidden cause i don't want to kill you"
I suppose I never thought of it that way, but it might be true for Anakin. Because of the Ahsoka novel, we know she was hoping to fool whoever found her sabers into thinking she was dead and that the survivors left them on the graves as spoils of war after having defeated her. I love it, everyone should listen to the audiobook voiced by the Ahsoka voice actress.
The last thing said of the whole show is Rex shouting: "Come on" while they're still on the ship. During everything after that, the whole falling to the planet's surface, getting into Rex' ship, standing before the helmets on sticks, and Vader finding the saber, there is not a single word said. That were minutes of visual story telling.
Truly a perfect ending to the series. What pleasure it was to see this reaction, Eric and Aaron joining in was the best decision you guys could’ve made I do hope you upload Rebels reaction soon
One of the most heartbreaking things for me is that the clones seem relatively the same- just as determined, just as selfless, just as smart, brave and well-disciplined as they always have been. The only thing that’s really flipped is that suddenly all that same bravery and selflessness that we’ve cheered on throughout the entire series so far is suddenly turned on the characters we care about. With that one small change, they seem ruthless and robotic; cold and mechanical and suicidally duty-bound instead of loyal and heroic. It makes me wonder if _this_ is the way the clones have been perceived by their enemies- and even the galactic population at large- this whole entire time: as biological, fanatical machines who’ll do whatever it takes to finish the mission. We know that they’re so much more than that due to our proximity as viewers to them throughout the show, but it’s all sorts of fucked up when you think about it.
the final shot of the clone wars is absolute perfection. the damaged ahsoka painted clone trooper helmet buried in the snow with darth vader walking away in the reflection. it tells you everything this show was about in a single shot
So the red paint on the clones helmets were markings of the platoon that was assigned to be under Ashoka Tano if she decided to return to the Jedi Order. They were so exited about her coming back they all wanted to show tribute and that they were wanting to fight under her leadership. So the final shot of the helmet with the war paint was the most chilling moment to me.
I love how the music and cinematography (long slow close ups of characters thinking) during the loading Maul onto the ship sequence echoes Episode III at this exact moment. It’s why everyone has such a familiar sense of dread.
This show was my childhood as it was my first introduction to the Star Wars franchise & I remember tuning in for every episode. Sad but happy to see it finally got an epic banger of ending to an already amazing series! However, seeing you guys react to the show made me relieve those moments I had with the show so thank you for being alongside the journey! May the force be with you! ❤
I think one of the saddest parts about this whole finale is the context behind why Anakin was in such a good mood at the start of Revenge Of The Sith. Ahsoka just came back! Things were finally looking up for him. Then the nightmares started, the order began to really test Anakin's trust, all the while Palpatine kicked his manipulation into high gear. And the one person who could have talked Anakin down was on a mission that she didn't even want to do. On a higher note, May the 4th be with everybody!
Fives is definitely my favorite clone aside from Rex. Bro nearly prevented an entire war and genocide by himself. It’s so dope seeing lore of specific clones doing amazing things.
I personally think that Vader looking upon the Venator is the last vestiges of Anakin dying. Ahsoka may have been the one that he hoped would make it out, and now he believes she died. Maybe it's regret, maybe it's acceptance, but I think he was feeling as close to human as he had when he found her lightsaber
Remember Rigde? The clone trooper from the movie who comms got static before they landed and attacked Teth. Sad to see him die but also good that he didn´t have to serve the Empire.
In many ways Ahsoka symbolizes the great failure of the Jedi. She herself points out that she was trained as a peacekeeper but only ever practically acted as a soldier. Her disillusionment with the Jedi Order was really inevitable from the moment they betrayed their beliefs and became pawns of the corrupt politics.
10:02 during the brief moment after rex said lord sidious, you can see a glimpse of frustration on Palatine's face when he realized how close his plan was to falling apart. Because no clone was supposed to know his title.
Pretty sure all clones addressed him as Sidious when this happened. They were probably programmed to know when the order was given. In Revenge of the Sith, Cody explicitly addresses him as "My Lord"
Anakin told Ahsoka, "your lightsaber is your life", the very end is Ahsoka leaving her saber and faking her death. when she looked up, she reached out through the force, looking for Anakin, but she couldn't sense him anymore, believing he had died. it would have been easier for her to leave it behind if she didn't have to come to Anakin's rescue. She's done fighting.
This arc is so amazing. Leading up to Order 66, there's this intense feeling of dread. We already know what's about to happen, but the atmosphere is just so somber. The music makes you feel scared, worried, melancholic... It's like a type of sadness and anticipation that I can't explain in words. Ominous. And somehow, even before Order 66, all of a sudden the Republic looks and feels like the Empire, and the Clones remind me more of Stormtroopers than ever before.
Shattered is slept on for how good an episode it is bc the three episodes around it have the invasion of Mandalore, Ahsoka vs. Maul, and the ending. But holy cow it's so good at building tension
Hallway scenes Vader: Slaughters a ragtag group of rebels with the force and his lighsaber Maul: Slaughters a group of elite soldiers with only the force Grievous: Slaughters countless Mandalorians with his bare hands (That last one was in the scrapped son of dathomir storyline where Maul escapes Palpatine's prison, setting up this arc)
I remember watching this scene for the first time to excited to see all of the episode 3 Easter eggs. However, when Mace Windu told Ahsoka, "I'm sorry citizen," my jaw dropped. At first, I found his pettiness funny, but then I couldn't stop laughing at the irony that it was precisely this kind of arrogance that ultimately caused the Jedi Order's downfall.
You guys said it right, the clones had it worst. This was a story about how a people were created, used, betrayed, and killed. Pawns in a scheme that never considered them alive. It's so tragic. Congrats for getting through it all guys! Was a lot of fun amidst the drama.
Couldn’t agree more with Aaron about loving Rebels “more than” Clone Wars as a whole story package.. but it makes watching Rebels more perfect if we watch Clone Wars first until the end..
You guys really should react to Star Wars Rebels before Ahsoka comes out! Rebels serves as both a sequel to The Clone Wars and introduces a bunch of characters who will be in the Ahsoka series. I'm also looking forward to seeing you guys react to The Bad Batch, but i think you should prioritize Star Wars Rebels first.
Out of all the clones. Jesse's death is what broke me when I first saw. I dunno why, just I latched onto both Echo and Jesse and seeing his helmet broke me.
"The entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights" - GREAT callback to Sir Alec Guinness' line in A New Hope when describing Vader to Luke.
It's incredible how far these reactions have come. I remember when they were really not enjoying this show, especially Rana. These four episodes have been some of the absolute best of Star Wars since 1977.
That intro! hahahahahahaha It's amazing how in the beginning, pretty much everyone hated Ahsoka, myself included. But then her character grew and she become one of the fan favorite characters in all of star wars!
15:35 man rip ridge he fought from christophsis and teth to all the way to the end if the war i think its fitting a war veteran like that doesn’t live to see himself become the villian
The Normies for me personally this is the greatest reaction I've seen on youtube to date. Awesome commentary always, the emotions, tension, Blind Wave in the house too, musical score perfectly capturing the suspense, the melancholy etc. Also Dave Filoni's execution & writing, the Clone War's staff, Kevin Kiner, Dee Bradley Baker, Sam Witner, Ashley, Matt Lanter etc. Bravo! This finale was a masterpiece.
Seeing Rex get emotional is easily the saddest part of this whole thing for me. Everyone has to have cried here. I was a wreck for a half hour and didn't fully recover until hours later. 😭😭
1:13 that was a good skit, Erik just went in and handled business. 9:40 Maul felt that like "Oh that's that good good!" 21:29 Maul got max stats. 27:43 Ahsoka is now the coolest Jedi now. Anakin is basically gone at this point, Obi-Wan is gonna be a dessert hermit, Mace was presumed dead, and Ahsoka just force styled on everyone at every possible point in time. She is her bruh. 32:28 The Clones definitely got dealt the worst treatment in Star Wars, they were so loyal and strong. *I salute* To all of the fallen, brainwashed, and misfortunate veteran Clones, May the force be with you all. 53:19 That was awesome. It's been great rewatching this with you guys. I loved all your reactions 😊
God I was there with everyone that was tearing up. Every time I watch this arc and it gets to Palp giving the order and rex talking about his brothers it reminds me of the day Episode 3 came out and my family went to see it (parents were there day 1, since 77') and seeing the fall of the Republic and the Jedi. I was 12 and i could feel it like Yoda. Just the fall and betrayal. I still feel it each time since it was such a defining moment. The swell of the music and knowing Palpatine's machinations are bearing its fruit. It kills me each time.
I feel like the most depressing thing about this third part finale is that if Ahsoka was with, literally any other clones, she would have been fine but because they all still see her as their Jedi they include her in order 66.
Fantastic stuff. So tense and upsetting, and I love how they focused on Ahsoka and the clones, the heart of the series. You guys REALLY need to go on to Rebels next. I know Bad Batch is tempting, but Rebels picks up some things you guys discussed...

Was a lot of fun amidst the drama.
subtle detail: Sabine Wren's mom is repeatedly seen next to Bo-Katan and around other mandalorians.
Spidey "its bc she's cold business, what do you mean?" hahahahahaha
I know Rebels is the obvious follow up to this series, but I really hope you also react to the 2003 Tartakovsky Clone Wars series one day too.
💯
I completely agree with you, or at least just the Grievous parts, because they did him so wrong in this show.
Couldn’t agree more with Aaron about loving Rebels “more than” Clone Wars as a whole story package.. but it makes watching Rebels more perfect if we watch Clone Wars first until the end..
i like the detail they did at 33:11 they changed anakin face to the darth vader mask
I love how in the trailer for the Ashoka series, she used the same move where she throws the light sabers down and force moves them in a circle
That intro! hahahahahahaha
It's amazing how in the beginning, pretty much everyone hated Ahsoka, myself included. But then her character grew and she become one of the fan favorite characters in all of star wars!
15:35 man rip ridge he fought from christophsis and teth to all the way to the end if the war i think its fitting a war veteran like that doesn’t live to see himself become the villian
Palpatine's grandson Chris Johnson 😂😂
Rex in the y-wing: "If Hardcase can fly one of these we all can"
The Normies for me personally this is the greatest reaction I've seen on youtube to date.
10:29 This scene had me in tears man! The way he was trying to hold back! Excellent series finale! 🙏🏽💪👏
“I’ve been looking forward to this”
Okay. When Spidey got dragged off, I almost peed myself I was laughing so hard!
Once again, a crossover between Blind Wave and The Normees is one of the most satisfying collabs of this year.
Seeing Rex get emotional is easily the saddest part of this whole thing for me. Everyone has to have cried here. I was a wreck for a half hour and didn't fully recover until hours later. 😭😭
The Clone Wars ending with Darth Vader fading from the lens of a clones discarded helmet… beautiful.
Vader think Ahsoka is gone, that she would not just throw her saber away, that she went down with the ship...
1:13 that was a good skit, Erik just went in and handled business.
9:40 Maul felt that like "Oh that's that good good!"
21:29 Maul got max stats.
Its this and the Mandalore arc that solidified Ahsoka as my favourite character.
It’s always a treat to see a crossover but damn having Eric during your guys Star Wars content just makes it 1000 times better
"He's Starkiller at this point" in so many ways lol
God I was there with everyone that was tearing up. Every time I watch this arc and it gets to Palp giving the order and rex talking about his brothers it reminds me of the day Episode 3 came out and my family went to see it (parents were there day 1, since 77') and seeing the fall of the Republic and the Jedi. I was 12 and i could feel it like Yoda. Just the fall and betrayal. I still feel it each time since it was such a defining moment. The swell of the music and knowing Palpatine's machinations are bearing its fruit. It kills me each time.
10:51 THE MUSIC......MY FAVOURITE THEME FOR STAR WARS.....besides the imperial march and starkiller's theme
The clones have such a tragic story. I’ll always cry for them.
I think at the end he wanted to do to Ahsoka exactly what he wanted to do with Luke as soon as he realised his existence: Turn her, or kill her.
This is such a fun collaboration, oh my god. Two of my fave channels.
I feel like the most depressing thing about this third part finale is that if Ahsoka was with, literally any other clones, she would have been fine but because they all still see her as their Jedi they include her in order 66.
Oh man the crossovers are soooo fun! Love both of your channels so much! Hope they get a shot to come back again soon! :D
You asked why Maul pulled the clone troopers arm back through the door to be cut off, he wanted the trooper's wrist communicator.
The DREAD inspired by the music before Order 66 is given is unreal
"That's like shooting your puppy." Kristi Noem would like a word
This arc of Clone Wars still gives me chills. Absolutely phenomenal!
Fantastic stuff. So tense and upsetting, and I love how they focused on Ahsoka and the clones, the heart of the series. You guys REALLY need to go on to Rebels next. I know Bad Batch is tempting, but Rebels picks up some things you guys discussed...
Haha how he dragged the body away as though Eric used the force hahaha 🤣😂 loved the intro!!!
The Ashoka scene where she’s deflecting blasters hits crazy different when you’ve watched Tales of the Jedi.
