      Imagine being asked to buy the whole brake assembly while it's only the brake fluid that's dirty. Sad truth is this is what nowaday's mechanic do.

    Thank you so much Arvind. This fixed the issue with my Kawasaki 250R - I had in sitting idle for many months and couldn't even move it in neutral because front brakes were locking. Great channel!

    Bleeding brake fluid all over the wheel, tire and brake pads is a special extra feature of this method. The brakes will work at the first stop sign and then on your first turn, you break your ass. Thanks dude!

    When I replace brake fluid, I open the bleed valve and fill with new fluid while old is draining. Once new fluid is coming out, I close the bleed valve. Helps keep air out of the lines so you have more responsive brakes.

    I'd recommend using a thin plastic pipe for draining brake fluid. you won't be making a mess and won't pour brake fluid on disc.

  • @kunalkhanna985
    @kunalkhanna985 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Use only brake fluid to clean brake pistons, any abrasive fluid will destroy the rubber seals that seat the piston. Bleed the brakes and fill the fluid reservoir simultaneously to not introduce air into the system. The new fluid will simply fill up and bleeder valve will eject out old fluid, bleed with brake pressed, close bleeder valve prior to release of brake. Repeat this 50 times and voila!

    Just day before yesterday I had this issue on my Husqvarna svartpilen 250 ... The front Tyre jammed & I couldn't move the bike at all. I had to unscrew the front brake n travel 150 km without the front break .
    Now the service centre guys asking me to pay for the master cylinder, even though I still have 2 more free service left & my bike is under warranty ...

    How come you don't unscrew the nipple while pressing the piston downwards , don't you think it may cause the seal of break pistons to wear out??

  • @threethrushes
    @threethrushes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I strongly suspect that using a lubricant is universally NOT recommended.
    Instead, use specific brake fluid which is a solvent that cleans, removes water, and dries.

  • @Concordeagle
    @Concordeagle 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good video but recommend brake cleaner instead of wd-40, that's what it's made for. That said, you want to wipe the brake cleaner off the pistons when done as it can be corrosive to the seals. Some folks even add a drop of brake fluid with a q-tip to pistons.

  • @atmazaomar1626
    @atmazaomar1626 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Need technical answer. How does the piston retract away? If it doesn't, the brake pad will still stay sticky and destroy the rotor. That was what happened to my previous bike.

      actually its already proven that WD-40 willd not damage o-rings and rubber seals

    hi, after you release the brake lever, what is the mechanism that pulls the pistons back? are there springs somewhere in the brakes that pulls the piston or brake pads back to their original position?

    • @kunalkhanna985
      @kunalkhanna985 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hydraulics of brake fluid and the shape of rubber rings that surround the brake piston, after brake release the piston comes back as the rubber washer seating it returns to normal shape, the motion is really minuscule but u can see it with the eye

    you do not bleed the brakes like that you have air in your brake pipes watch a VIDEO ON THAT!. plus your tension spring on the caliper is fitted wrong and or doesn't have tension in order for your bakes to disengage from the disc check that again!.

  • @arunKumarunicorn
    @arunKumarunicorn 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi..
    i have a doubt.
    What if i just add new brake fluid , when the existing fluid is reduced ?
    I am not going to empty the existing fluid, just top up with new brake fluid.

    • @ArvindKumar-xm3tl
      @ArvindKumar-xm3tl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's pretty much easy check the level of fluid in the glass window or reservoir body, there are markings. IF fluid level is below Minimum then open the reservoir and pour the brake oil and close and tight the reservoir. That's it

    • @arunKumarunicorn
      @arunKumarunicorn 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Audacious Arvind thanks buddy..

    • @05mridul
      @05mridul 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tge efficiency of the fluid would reduce as it would react with the carbon present in the fluid due to regular use
      It is always recommended to empty the reservoir and the fill the reservoir with new fluid for the same

    • @kunalkhanna985
      @kunalkhanna985 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brake fluid absorbs water so u must replace it every 2-3 years. You see bleeding videos, the new fluid replaces the old one and you continue bleeding till all old fluid is out. Use brake fluid from sealed container else no point in changing it

    how to loose front disc brake of ns ?

    • @ArvindKumar-xm3tl
      @ArvindKumar-xm3tl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amol Chopade in disk brakes there is nothing like a drum brake where you can loose a nut and loose the brake.
      You can install an aftermarket adjustable brake lever.
      Though I would recommend to practice the braking.
      Get some open, straight road with no other vehicle on road start slowly say at 20 kmpl and brake progressively meaning you press lever slightly and then keep pressing it in a progressive way.
      Try again with same speed and press the brakes harder or more progressively. Once you feel satisfying with braking then increase your speed say 30 kmpl and repeat. By this practice you will feel much more confident with braking.

    • @kunalkhanna985
      @kunalkhanna985 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are probably grabbing the brakes too hard, use a gentle squeeze like extracting juice from a lemon and progressively apply brakes
