X Overland's Polaris General 1000 XP Side by Side Overland Build - First Walk Around

- Clay and 10 year old Eli took a quick ride out in the hills to give a brief overview of the Expedition Overland built Polaris General 1000. This is new territory for us but boy has it been fun! We gave it the X Overland touch with General Grabber tires, Icon Wheels, Warn winch and even mini Maxtrax! Thanks for joining and give Eli a thumbs up for his camera work. The Canam Defender 6x6 has a 6' bed! perfect for hauling and a roof top tent!
Really looking forward to this Clay ! you have that thing set up pretty perfect, and it looks great ! I always liked the look of the General. I ride ATV now but will probably get a SXS in the future b/c my family is growing and I plan to have it fitted like an overland rig too. Thanks for sharing it with us ! Wow! I will be waiting on pins and needles to see what you guys do and where you may go on those. Crazy thing is, I have always rode side by sides on adventures, been some places with them. ... So, I started building an overland vehicle to do what I couldn't do with my side by sides. Then you guys go side by side! Awesome! Can't wait

I like it Clay my 4 year-old grandson would have a great time with all those switches I'd have to have a box on the bed for my two Springer Spaniels.

That is dope! Do you feel like the ride height/travel has shifted with those mods or is it still holding strong? Also any plans to maybe put a RTT on one? Been thinking about getting a 4 seater for a similar set up but putting throwing a tent on it.

You should mount that radio probably under the bed rack shelf or at the top of the cage.. it's below your intake so it may see water.

The question everyone asks themselves after seeing a few of your videos: How are you guys funded? The costs of your rigs, equipment , shop, staff and expeditions have to be enormous. Just curious 😎.
Simple. It’s a well run business. They get companies to sponsor them or send them gear in exchange for advertising. They offer exposure, R&D services, advertising through their videos and networks.
I love these but god damn are they expensive for something that I wouldn't be able to use everywhere. I do hope to see some videos of this beast soon.

Love the rig. I just bought a General myself and would love to replicate most of this build. Is it something you guys have to share links etc?
Everywhere that I have looked they say you can’t add this type of windshield because of where it is secured down on the dash. Either the ride command or the radio is in the way. How did you manage to do install this, without pulling the radio out?
How come you guys don't ever do anymore videos using this machine?

Should look into the turbo diesel Roxor. It could handle weight and all the torque needed. But this is a cool toy

Do you guys ever fabricate anything? Of does the stuff already on the market suit your needs.
Mostly stuff on the market suites our needs but we commonly modify it. This unit has several mods to fit everything up.
If your truck can’t make thats when you strap on your backpack and hike the rest of the way.
What is the brand of the windshield you are running on the General?

one issue. that fire bottle is for other people NOT your machine. For your machine you should run a fire suppression system with nozzles over the engine and passages.
What system would you recommend?

I've never seen an "expedition" vehicle with out a spare tire.
HOW ABOUT FIRST AID KIT?
It’s In The center console. Boo boo kit and a blow out kit.
I am questioning your sanity not running a spare... If you're planning on running this on roads that your parent vehicle can't handle why take the risk?
A spare and a 3-foot hi-lift would round things out, while making it look cooler too.

I have it on the deck of the toy hauler and if I’m going to go far or beyond where my truck can get me I can put it in the back. No worries!
