Just got mine a month ago. Haven’t taken it on a trail yet but the utility side of this machine is awesome! The dump is what sold me on this model but the winch and performance of the general make my lumberjacking and transport of logs perfect for my needs. Glass windshield, wiper kit, nerf bars and zip up door windows confirm I picked the right machine for my adventures/work.
I’m a Yamaha guy. Had a Rhino, still have my Grizzly 700, but we bought a ‘21 General XP Deluxe at the end of October ‘20 and have not been disappointed. The General is an outstanding machine. Has not let us down at all.
The first General came out RIGHT after I bought my RZR 900. I haven't found a seriously compelling reason to upgrade until now! This machine is everything I want in a SxS.
This machine and the RMAX should be close in competition. Yamaha quality takes the win for me.
Think again. Yamaha has had a rash of transmission failures with the RMAX.
Well, I'm subbed to a few UTV related channels, but Dirt Trax has been my main guide in buying my side by side. I'm pulling the trigger this Thursday, on a General. I've been saving up for what seems like a lifetime to be able to do this, and now that it's time, it still doesn't seem real. Good job guys and thanks for the help.
Thank you for another VERY thorough overview. This one being especially important to Us. It's so hard to find "honest" opinions, advice, and recommendations from anyone whom has a lot of experience and knowledge in the SXS/UTV/ATV world. Most go by who their sponsor is, and/or incentives offered by big companies, to help sell their product. And we're not saying all the others lie, or are dishonest. They just tend to add a little, or make something look better than what it actually is, or means. Trusting you Guy's these past six plus years, has proven to be the best decision we've ever made, when it comes to buying a SXS/UTV/ and or an ATV. We've now owned Polaris, Kawasaki, and a Yamaha! And couldn't be happier with our choices thus far! Not to mention your taking the time to honestly answer every question We've ever asked. And I'm sure there are many more out there, just like us! I enjoy your (Dirt Tracks) reviews. I think you all put a lot of thought into the reviews and are fair to all makers. I really like the review on this General and you also talk to us that don't have a lot of extra money. I am retired but enjoy riding my side by side. The market has come a long way from the early years. I just hope the makers remember to keep us with limited incomes in mind.

Great video as usual. I'm relieved that you are an intelligent enough group to pivot towards making TH-cam content, while still staying true to your roots with television. I had a 2014 Polaris RZR XP and when I was looking to upgrade, I strongly considered the General. I chose to go with the 2019 RZR Turbo S ! I'm happy with my choice, but still have a love for the General! Thank you Dirt Trax team for continuing your legacy in style!!

Great walkaround as usual. I don't always agree but I always appreciate .General vs RMAX, now that's a shootout I'll watch.
And the shootout won't tell all. See how they'll hold up after a few years, and the higher resale value on the Yamaha.
Just bought a XP1000 4 because of your reviews hit all of our needs. We have a couple RZR's as well.. nice to see if your cover all the storage options and what they were intended for.
We have a 2018 General with Ride Command. Was using it today to haul brush, logs and sticks, getting the place cleaned up before winter. We also use it for trail riding, snow plowing and running errands. Overall, great machine! The thing we we’ve talking about is clearance, something the XP appears to improve on. Great walkaround, always enjoy your videos.

This General is an Amazing Vehicle and love all the features and add features. I love the tires and wheels .Polaris is the best out there!!! Polaris really has the rider in mind with the doors and the comfort of the arm rest ..Love the back and how easy it is to dump !! Like Polaris always does is think before there Competitor does!!! Think Outside !!! Lets Ride !!!
love to see you guys push these units to their limits. and side by side ride comparisons shoot out would be great to see where certain machines excel or fall short vs its competition.
After watching your other video of BOTH the General XP 4 & the PRO XP I went & ordered the PRO. After waiting several weeks I decided that the General would suit our needs better so instead purchased the Factory Custom Edition General XP 4. LOVE IT!!! Thanks for all the reviews & tips. Hey, I’ve watched your show for quite awhile, even on tv and now on you tube, I’m glad you’re still keeping us up to date, Polaris seems to still be leading the way ,for at lease 30 years or more, in price and innovations, I’m catching up to your dad’s age. I have not yet bought any toy except a new 1984 Honda shadow 1000, it brought many smiles to my face and bugs in my teeth. I’ve never pulled the trigger on a purchase of a side x side because of the high price being just out of reach. Well such as life 😎

I recently ordered my first sxs. a general xp 1000 4. I'll be 71 years old before I get it but am excited to own one. Thanks for taking the time to explain some of the features to this vehicle.

I love this episode. I am a new dirt trax subscriber but huge fan. I really appreciate all of the love and hard work you guys put into your channel. I have really been tuned in to your incite of the Polaris general line. I was so excited to see this episode of the 2021 Polaris general xp1000. We got our 4 seater in earlier October. We love is so much. Do wish the Walker Evans had some dynamix shock control to easily function the shocks but it has been a blast for my family and I. I can not wait to see what you all do with yours.
Just yesterday I ordered a 2022 General XP deluxe. I’m going to have a hard time waiting the 2 months for it to be built.
I thought seriously about the ride command, but just couldn’t justify the $2k bump in price. Hope I don’t regret that. It’s hard doing all the research online right now, there’s nothing in stock at the dealerships to check out in person before you special order a machine.
I just bought this same General. I love it. I was a little disappointed with the stage 4 audio but Polaris released a software update that I installed myself with a USB drive. The update seem to improve the sound quality and I'm quite happy. She keeps up with all the other buggies but yet useful on the farm. Great review you gave. I couldn't agree more.

Just ordered the 2021 General XP Deluxe (4-Seat) Graphite. Nice overview, since we didn't get a chance to actually see a unit when we ordered it was nice watching this video for a very in-depth overview of what we are going to get. Very excited to drive this UTV and your video made it even more exciting!
For years, I've enjoyed your content and honest opinions. If I ever purchased a SxS, it would be a General. I've been riding for 20+ years, with my first atv being a 1998 Polaris Sport 400. Then in 2006, I purchased a Polaris Outlaw 500. Which in my opinion, one of the best sport quads made for trail riding. Now, I own a 2015 Polaris Sportsman XP1000, which I love for trail riding. Power steering is a must have. Maybe someday I'll pull the trigger on a SxS, but I love trail riding ATV's. Keep up the great work!👍

I really like that you point out the different factory upgrades that have been added to your ride for clarity. Hey Guys!!! Love your channel! Because of you, your channel, your awesome and honest reviews, I bought a brand new 2022 Polaris General XP 1000 Deluxe Ride Command. I bought it in September of 2022. All for pleasure. Been out a few times with on our local trails in eastern Ontario, Canada. We just love it! The ride, comfort, handling and power. Can’t wait to take it to our camp in northern Quebec when camping reopens in the spring. Awesome network of trails up there. Keep up the great work you guys! Great channel! Maybe someday will get to meet on the trails.

General owner since 2017. Taken all Alaska has to offer handily, fishing, hunting, exploring and love my General. The XP addresses all but my horsepower wish list, needs about 25 more. Looking forward to the comparison.
Great walk around. I had a general XP for a while and was pleasantly surprised. I’m a RZR guy so my handling and ride expectations were low but I was blown away how well it rode and handled. If I would have rode the General XP4 Deluxe before purchasing my 19 1000 XP4 I would have bought a general. I have since moved in to a 21 Pro XP4 Ultimate but anyone who gets a General XP will be happy for sure. Can’t wait to see the side by side comparison with the RMax. Keep up the great content. Cheers
The cab on a general is a beautiful machine that really does a good job at whatever you throw at it I've always been a Polaris guy and this is a very premium looking machine
I do like the new style of the general. They are a good looking unit. And I also love how the pure sport rigs are getting so insane it's making the sport utility category that much better in the spec department.

I have always enjoyed dirt trax and snow trax. My one request is, could you do a snow ride or a adventure with the general xp in the snow. Perhaps a trail ride/ go ice fishing or something like that. Also, i love how many suspension action shots this review had. My second request is more action shot of the suspension soaking up ruts and ledges and corners. Loved the action shots showing the suspension work. I love the new xp general and it might be what earns my first side by side purchases this coming spring. Thanks guys, I look forward to seeing some snow trax adventures this winter.

My buddy bought a General XP after I bought a 2020 turbo S and is floored by it, we ride the dunes here in northern Alberta and he can’t even believe how much nicer of a machine it is compared to his previous Viking. We put on 3000kms this summer and neither of us had an issue yet, not even a belt change.

The "sport utility" vehicles are a perfect fit for those that do "expedition/overland" camping due to their better storage capabilities. In the 4 place world there is a radical difference in approach and comparing these major differences in direction would be interesting. Looking forward to a future "shootout".

The only thing I don't like about the Yamaha is it's always reved up regardless of speed and its loud.

Just bought one. I like that it's both utility and play. Was looking to get a John Deere RSX860 for the same reason (way cheaper), but they were just discontinued this year. Thought about the RMax but just like cars I never want to buy on the first roll out year. You did a video on the RSX and was a good video that made me want it.
Would love to see an Rmax vs. General 4 comparison. I feel like the Rmax 4 losing its bed is a showstopper for me. Ordered the factory build edition a few weeks ago! Love the video, keep them coming!
