Who Exactly Is Spying On Everyone In Penacony | Honkai Star Rail Lore

- Throughout our time in honkai star rails 2.0 and 2.1 patch, penacony has shown us that it isnt the holiday paradise we initially assumed it was. There are plenty dark secrets, internal family politics and just overall weirdness. One rather suspicious thing is the presence of animal themed monitoring devices, specifically purple birds and hound statues that can be found around penacony. The biggest question is what are these tools really for and who exactly is spying on everyone in penacony?
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

I always assumed the birds are how sunday watches everyone in penacony
Do you think we can assume the dog we can examine then disappears is another branch of the family that's watching us?
Either the bludhounds or gallagher is using the dawgs to watch everyone in the drramscape
reminds me of "Pigeons are cameras that the government uses to keep an eye on us"
It's pretty obvious the birds are Sundays 'eyes'.
The first time we see one, it's on a myriad trailer, on Sunday's shoulder.
And we see them around penacony watching other characters, also aventurine and ratio implied they been watching them for a while.
The hound are either the bloodhounds or gallagher himself (their magenta eyes, a color only gallagher as a character uses).
All of the statues have different text when you find them, some give a ominous feeling, yet there's one that give a sorrowful, regretful feeling on a room implied to be the watchmakers, which can connect them to gallagher even more
wdym most of the time sunday's ravens are observing sunday? that's just false.
only 1 time we see it observe sunday, when he meet gallagher. possibly for insurance, like it may records footage.
in fact, most of the time we see the ravens are observing aventurine, we see one when aventurine meet sparkle, and then we see the other in aventurine boss fight. also from what sunday said, the ravens also observed gallagher movement for a while.
When I saw the bird for the first time, I thought fischl would appear lmao

i kinda thought it was obvious the bird served Sunday, not because he said it but because in the myriad celestia trailer, "revisiting of past dreams" theres a shot of the bird on his shoulder before flying off, presumably passing on information to him. that may mean nothing but yeahhh
one of the hound statues mentions going back to the memory zone during firefly quest when we try to reach her secret special place a seasoned hound officer stops us before using clockwork on him if you look to the right side you will find the hound in a corner filled with boxes like gifts. this confirm the hound statues don't belong to the hound family.
What if the Sunday we are interacting with is Sparkle? And the real Sunday is watching through the bird.
Sparkle told Sunday “Who could resist a guy whose rocking spikes in his wings?” (This is when Sparkle is disguised as Robin.)
I always found this line a bit … targeted at Sunday, as if to remind him about those spikes, as if his wings … have been neuter- let’s not use that word- as if his wings have been clipped, or at the very least, been forced under someone else’s control.
Gallagher told Sunday, “oh that’s right, you also have a very strict master. (Penacony’s Dreammaster)”
Sunday is the head of the Oak Family, and both him and his sister were raised by the Dreammaster. This very person has instructed him to overlook his sisters murder, and to prioritize the Charmony Festival.
Sunday’s Servants may act as a double agent, a double agent that Sunday is aware of, but is incapable of acting against, because his Bird Servants also serve the Dreammaster of Penacony.
Edit: Sparkle also refers to him as “Chicken Wing Boy”, and now I’m wondering if there is a slightly deeper meaning in that name. Is she calling him a Cowardly Chicken, or is she simply stating the fact that his wings are not as they should be?
I mean, the spikes in his wings could be literal. He has piercings in his left wing. But I do really like this theory!
The bird is the Meme that's what I was thinking.
According to the leakers (before patch 2.1), the birds owned by Sunday. Until it was added into the game, many players said Sparkle is toxic (when talk to aventurine). But, no one seems notice something odd. Why on earth they speak like that? It seems like she tried to tell him something but not directly. It is because they both know, everything and everyone being watched by the family. The family means not just 1 side, but all of them.
Not just the (crow) bird, you guys can see origami birds and black dogs statue around penacony. It may represent the family members may got their own way to look around penacony. It's like their own intel. Just like a cult, they are always being suspicious with each other. I suspected each faction/division is not even close to one and another (within the family).
Just like xianzhou luofu and IPC.
I live in a big Asean country. It consist of many island. Big island got their own ruler. Within one big province, there is small to big cities. Within the island consist of different tribes, religion, language. But if you trace down, you can see that they are immigrants and not original tribe from the island. I think just like that.
Each division got their own way to get information. Not just blindly believe what 1 division said / informed / reported. When 1 divison get too much power and control the other division, ofc some people in other division dislike it.
Just like in my country. The economy center around 1 island. Meanwhile other island isn't get the same treatment (not always). It seems lacking. Everything is expensive than that 1 island.
The origami birds are with clockie, since they are from the same cartoon with hanu and appears as if no one can see them, like firefly couldn't see them and clockie. And hello fellow Asian.

The eye motif is seen all over Penacony including the meme of death and its also a the motif of Ena the Order that was assimilated into Xipe, or at least thats what we are to believe. Ena not only only is represented by the eye but also a puppet. It would fit the theme if it was really Ena was manipulating Xipe like a hidden puppet master.
This makes me think Gallagher, being a mix of different people is on the side of Xipe while Sunday is on the side of Ena.
It's obviously Sunday. Not only is that just clear from the cutscenes, you can see one fly from his shoulder in black swans myriad celestia
I don't think the birds are Sunday, I think they are representative of someone in the nightingale family just like the hounds are for the bloodhound family. It only makes sense. If the birds were Sunday's he wouldn't have been fooled by Ratio and Aventurine.
Slightly correction, we also saw the bird during the talk with Sparkle and Aventurine during 2.1, not only on the boss fight.

The bird is obviously owned by sunday. Its so clear if u play the story tho. Especially when he speaks with aventurine

something that occurred as a random thought, xipe is called a triple faced soul, one goddess with three faces, we can find that concept all over the world. However most mythos will point out that each face has a distinct reasoning, persona, or ability. with Xipe being the harmony, we only ever see her from the front, the face with a peaceful expression. could she be keeping harmony within herself by keeping other personas at bay? for a harmonic being, having the ability to brand someone and be judge, jury, and executioner just seems a bit out of character. Could the Death/dormancy of the dreamworld play into that? keeping the other personas dormant?
At this point i feel Gallagher is in cahoots with Constance.

I think having to tell us to find the Zoologist acheivement for ourselves is crazy. Sure its a theory vid but mentioning and proceeding to show us no actual quotes was a bit too lazy for me, ruins the pacing for me. I jist wanted to know what sample quotes they said cos honestly me, i dont remember encountering them either.
Even about the Shadow family bit, you didnt mentioned it cos maybe its not true becos of the given enigmata faction. But wouldnt addressing it upfront then make more sense for the video rather than here when people have pointed it out.
