Hi, congratulations for your extensive work. I'm trying to clean the Summicron-R 35mm f2 version 1, but I don't know how to access the from elements. Can you help?
Awesome video! Is there a way to declick leica r lenses without having to put in the metal piece? I saw Duclos' declicking leica r videos and he never did it. Let me know thanks!
Given your experience with Leica R lenses, do you believe it is possible to make custom, round aperture blades for Summicron R 50 and install them instead of original 6 blade designed ones?
Hi Kenneth, I love the videos. I have a wee problem with a Jupiter-9 2/85., it's not like any of the versions I've found on youtube, so I don't know how to get it apart properly. I've managed to remove all of the glass elements apart from one, which is in the middle of the lens and rattles about. it's done this since I received it, and is the reason I need to get it apart. There are obvious signs that it's been opened before (with a hammer and chissel maybe), the screw heads are roughed up and there are scratches on the inner bezel at the front. maybe whoever had it apart before failed to put back all the parts and that's why the element is rattling about, I don't know, but here are a few pics of it to show you the version I have: drive.google.com/file/d/0B2N0LRHs6BhOVzJ0TUtqeU1PdFE/view?usp=sharing drive.google.com/file/d/0B2N0LRHs6BhOemFOaDBnN2J3N0k/view?usp=sharing drive.google.com/file/d/0B2N0LRHs6BhOeW9CTGZZNGc4V28/view?usp=sharing any light you can shed on this would be great, cheers, Judge Ps. did any of those small plastic geers from ebay work for you?
WOW Clarty, it' look's like some one has use a heavy tool to try to open it, not a nice try.... To open it you should try to find 1 or 2 of those compass for metal work, or a "Walking Stick" then you grind the 2 tip's to fit proper in the small nothes, then it should be more easy to open it. It should also be much more easy to assemble again with out make any damage to the lenses. About the small plastis gear wheel's, I have not use them yet.. Cheers Kenneth
mikeno62 I bought some calipers and managed to take most of it apart, (as I said before), but the lens that's slopping about inside isn't reachable, so I guess I'll have to buy some 1mm screwdrivers and continue removing parts until I get to it hehe.
Yeah, many of the Russian lenses use 1 or 1,2mm screws as a lock screw, just like in the Helios 44-2. So it's good to have the very small screw drivers.. Good luck with your project :-)
Hello, very great video.. Do you have any resource on where to get the bronze metal you recommend?
