- How to get the 2. lens front element out of Carl Zeiss Planar 1.7/ 50 T* C/Y mount.
ATTENTION!
This action could damage your 2. lens
element if you don't take good care. So, when
cutting around the Aluminium mount
of the 2. lens, you should have a VERY good grip on
the sharp knife. Remenber to set a mark BEFORE
take out the 2. lens element.
It's on your own risk!

Hi Mikeno, I can’t find enough words to thank you for this video. Now I know how to proceed and as soon as I have the tools I’ll try to solve the problem. Thanks again for your help!! Best regards.
Oh, that's great the video can help you, hope it will work for you.
Best regards :-)
Wooaooo what an operation. It s quite a stupid way from Zeiss/Yaschica to build a lens this way with the aluminium collar to stick the second element. Thx anyway for your trick.
👍
Thanks for this update, really enjoy your videos. I have a 50mm F1.7 AEJ with haze on the rear most element. Can I simply remove the rear lock ring to remove the rear most element? Will that require recalibration when putting it back together? Thank you.
Is so rare i open a lens and find no evidence of other people inside, scuffed or missing screws ,fingerprints , cleaning marks, missing parts,
Most of them described as near mint and other vague vernacular, often the spares or repairs department has less signs of interference , apart from the front element of course, that someone has scrubbed with something they found in the road by the look of it.
One lens i have has chips like that all the around the edge, it rattled when i first got it, a small 75mm dallmeyer, projector maybe, made a mount to go between it and a helicoid to sony. Its not amazing but looks interesting.
