I'm also a writer (poetry & criticism) dabbling in BookTube, looking for new ways of connecting with readers - seems like quite a lark. I am very lucky, I live full-time off my reading & writing, don't earn much, but enough for a quiet life in my tiny home with the light of my life, an ex-racer, rescue greyhound named Billy-Blue. I love that Philip Pullman book. And the Pullman has such a stunning cover. I will search out some of your other recommendations. They sound great so, thanks for that. It can be very energising & stimulating spending time with books like this, can't it?
It's wonderful that you're able to live off your writing! Congratulations, this is amazing (and no small feat)!!! I'm glad if you've found some good recommendations :) Yes, I agree - energizing and stimulating are indeed the rights words to describe it. Thanks so much for watching!
I have some books about writing on my shelves that I need to get to and now I want to add some of these to my list! I’ve never heard of The Artist’s Way. And I need that Phillip Pullman book and the Vandermeer one too!
Ahah, I have mixed feelings about the Artist's Way, but I also have to admit that it changed my life still, as going through it was the first big step in getting myself back into writing. I also read Write for Life from the same author - same concept, but specifically about writing. I made a whole video series about it ^^

@@Curious-Cat: After my glorious hound, books are my greatest delight. I really look forward to following your bookish adventures.
Interesting to hear about the different perspective about writing books in French. I like the John Gardner book and try to reread it every few years.
Oh nice, are you a writer too?
