We are moving to Oahu soon and we chose Pa Honua neighborhood as our second option (first is Mololani and third is Waikulu) :) Your house looks very cute! The only thing that bothers me is, as you mentioned, tiles D: I know that some of the houses in Pa Honua are beeing renovated and have hardwood flooring, it would be so nice to get one of them... 🥺🤞 Anyway, thank you for the tour! 😊
Going to be moving there end of this year!! Any tips on getting furniture and stuff ready before the housing process is complete? I already have a long stay bnb ready since he’s not allowed in the bricks when we get married😅
Hi! Thats so exciting to be moving here! As far as any tips, I can’t be much help since our situation when moving here was a bit different since I didn’t move in as soon as we got our house hahaha. My husband moved here first got the house and we basically just had everything shipped directly to the house and got all our essentials after the fact, 😩 however since you guys will be in the hotel for a bit before housing is complete, if he does happen to have any buddies that have houses already, if wouldn’t hurt to ask, they may be willing to hold some of your furniture until you can move it to your house. And also sometimes people who are moving out will be selling their furniture and things and may be able to hold it for you until you are move in ready depending on how long until you would need it 😊
Most of the time we use command strips and line the whole backs of the frames so they stick super well, but as for the shelves in the kitchen we drilled those in with the screws they came with! 😊
Hello! I'm a biggner miliatry wife, I don't know about Military yet so I'd like to ask about housing! My husband says that living a house on base is expensive, but I thought it's free😂 what's the truth? lol is it completely free to live in a house on base??
Hello! Technically it's not "free" but for us, the rent for on base housing is automatically taken out of our BAH and that includes utilities, so we never really see that BAH money if that makes sense, whereas, if you lived off base, you can essentially pocket whatever BAH you have leftover from your rent. So basically we aren't paying more than what we are getting paid in order to live on base.
Thank you for sharing! We're set to move in the next couple of months to that neighborhood and it's nice to see what to expect! So excited!
