Imagine how perfect Dark of the Moon would have been if they kept all the ideas in. Skids and Mudflaps’ deaths and the original ending would have made DotM one of the best TF movies easily.

@@TACTIK00L In my opinion it makes sense. Megatron has lost pretty much everything at this point, so it makes sense for him to call a truce with Prime to officially end the war. Megatron knows he's already lost anyway, so not even bothering to fight anymore is not only more satifsying, but it gives Megatron more depth to his character and shows that he's more aware of the concept of honor than Sentinel ever did.

Prime had enough of Megatron's bs and even if he did let him go who's to say he isn't just gonna make another army
To quote Burns from the Bumblebee movie, "They literally call themselves Decepticons. That doesn't set off any red flags?"
Unlike the Deceptcions, Sentinel actually had brain cells and was able to see the humans as a threat which was why he massacred the NEST base along with getting the pillars back.
The humans have always helped the auto bots defeat the decepticons, and sentinel must have learned that after he was revived. He knew how much trouble the humans would be, and they came in the final battle helping the auto bots win. The humans in age of extinction picked off the autobots so it was smart for sentinel to get human help and weaken the human military.
It would've been cool if they'd shown Sideswipe escaping and fighting Lockdown.

my theory was that the rust cannon used separate ammunition so basically he used all of his rust rounds on Ironhide and while trying to hit Bee, so basically Ironhide saved Sideswipe by needing 3 hits to die.
A sacrifice had to be made, this is something Ironhide would do

Another indication to put out is that the gun is low on ammunition. When you compare the power between when Ironhide and Sideswipe got shot, you see how punch packing it did to Ironhide and how its like a small firework pop to Sideswipe. I mean if you speculate it, you see how the gun even had trouble shooting the projectile out. The reason being is Sentinel shot the gun like 20 times in the movie, so he had to be low on it by the time he shot Sideswipe, to a point that it didn’t really rust him but rather just get knocked out.
Counter theory: Sentinel must have reloaded the gun to a full charge before the final battle since he knew he was going to be attacked by autobots later. And his aim was pretty accurate as well. Sideswipe was lucky he was a light sports car. Besides you could also say that there were to many autobots ganging up on him at the same time so maybe he missed. Anyways I have two theories. Pick one whichever floats your boat
Or, he just charged up his shot against Ironhide, and because Ironhide is a bigger Autobot the more powerful shot was needed.
This theory doesn't make any sense. If Sentinel was low on ammunition, the rust cannon would still have the same effect. Ammunition refers to the projectile a weapon is shooting. "Low on ammunition" means that Sentinel has little shots left to fire off, to put it simply, he's low on ammo, if the gun were to run out of ammo Sentinel would have to reload the gun. The rusting effect of the rust cannon isn't dependent on how much ammo the rust cannon has left lmfao. The most likely explanation to where the rust comes from is that you need to manually charge up the weapon in order to have the rust effect, since before Sentinel shoots ironhide, he charges up the weapon, giving the projectile in the weapon the rusting effect. This explanation is backed up by the fact that right before Sentinel shoots sideswipe, he doesn't charge up the weapon, so the rust cannon won't have the rusting effect.
My theory was that the rust was slowly eating the cannon as nothing is "immune" from the cosmic rust.
Basically its a gun that you can use for a limited time before it stops being useful.
I thought it was just cuz sentinel would always charge his gun when shooting the rust, but if he doesnt charge it, it would act like a basic gun, as he charges it for ironhide, but doesnt charge it in the ending battle cuz he was panic shooting

I think he can chose between rusts and normall bullets, in movie Sentinel use rust to kill Ironhide and to shots to Bee, after autobot retred Sentinel change to explosive ammo to deal with humans in NEST base. Rust cannon leave small claud of rust after hit (it is visible when he shot to Bee and hit metal boxe, and explain why Ironhide fingers start rusting before shot on arm get to hand, even if he dont get hit in it) so in battle is posibility that he can come in contact with this claud, espesly hitting target being that close and in battel chaos, so he just dont want to rish his live expecjally knowing only he can control philars. I dont read full orginal ending but its posible that Sentinel wants to kill Optimus with rust or Optimus just switch cannon back to rust.

Sentinel firing at Ironhide pierced my heart and left me in complete shock and sad for a moment when I saw Dark of the Moon in theaters, I was 11 when the film released.

There is a plot hole with sentinel prime's cosmic rust death , that plot hole is the fact sentinel is immune to cosmic rust , this immunity is the reason why he was able to construct the cosmic rust canon in the first place and why sentinel is the only person who has used cosmic rust weaponry .

I've been a viewer of this channel since atleast 18k subs and I've always waited for a sideswipe video, theorymus already made one about him and this is another one. Sideswipe was my favorite character since I saw transformers

Another Idea Is That The Rust Cannon wasnt strong enough at the Moment to kill sideswipe, as Progressively the More times Sentinel fired the Cannon the Blasts became less powerful and less Rust, so instead of Sideswipe rusting away all that would come out of the cannon would be air pressure

I always chalked it up to either Sentinel using an alternative firing mode for whatever reason on his blaster or him having run out of ammunition and having to resort to using the alternative firing mode since I don't remember him rusting anything after he shot Sideswipe

thats crazy, ive always thought about the materials, but didnt notice this. i thought Sentinal had like a multi-task weapon and the cosmic rust was like a trap card that he cant abuse. this makes more sense.
Since the TF4 Kill Cards imply the twins are alive, do you believe they are, or is that a mistake on the cards?
Considering Michael Bay loved to change the script of the movies at the last second, yes, they're definitely alive, either hiding or being part of a gang or something
I'd say a mistake, probably because they misspelled Garbage bot to Garage bot. And how if the kill cards were accurate, then that would mean within in this 5 year period, 2 autobots we're hunted and killed. Those being Leadfoot and Ratchet
As to how cannon the kill cards are supposed to be is still up in the air, However, I would say that what we saw on screen should be taken as Canon. And what we didn't it is up to your own interpretation

Question: what would happen if you put salt and vinegar on cosmic rust? Cause on normal rust when you put Salt & Vinegar on it it removes it, so what happens when you put Salt & Vinegar on cosmic rust? Could it be used to remove the effects?

It makes perfect sense! Now we get why he's also so nimble, acrobatic and swift because he was also much lighter.
From my perspective, i would say sentinals rust gun has a limit and when the rust affect is finished it switches to normal bullets automatically until it reloads or refills, otherwise sentinal would be wayy too over powered and he might as well just use hes rust gun to get the job done and shoot them all dead one time instead of fighting them with mele and shield delaying hes own plan, that to me makes more sense than the theory you suggested, interesting idea though
