Funnily enough, it matches his G1 self pretty well. Shockwave doesn't have a face. He has only one arm. His alt mode is literally a giant weapon. Shockwave is more of a machine than a human. Hell, more of a machine than a _transformer._ So this...mutation to a strictly inhuman(e) creature is very welcome indeed

As a Shockwave fan myself, I do see your points. I think you've changed my mind, but I've had a DotM Shockwave figure for a while now anyway. Just wanted to mention: If you've played the DotM game (which may or may not be canon) it is a prequel to the movie and it shows that Shockwave was frozen. Megatron thawed him out in the prequel and there's a big final boss fight with Shockwave and his driller. That game was part of the reason I'm more willing to accept the Bayverse Shockwave.
Unlocking and dominating as him in multiplayer was such a good time. I always found it strange he had no alt mode in the game despite the toy having one.
This video was quite… LOGICAL On a side note; I think elements of the Bayverse films should be incorporated into other Transformers media, like, give Shockwave a pet Drill-worm, give Sideswipe some wheel-feet, give the Constructicons unique designs, etc
People always complain how the Bay movies have designs that you can't recognize compared to their original versions, but with Shockwave it's pretty damn obvious who he's supposed to be. I love his design and overall presence in the movie. His eye being much bigger than his original design is also creepy as hell
THIS. My main problem when it comes to bayverse designs is that 90% of they don't follow the same design philosophy Shockwave and Optimus do. New and unique, but instantly recognizable as who they're supposed to be.
@@SNDWV99 Unicron trilogy Red alert, tfp arcee, animated prowl, armada megatron, tfp soundwave and starscream, rotb scourge and battletrap, bb dropkick. These designs are unique and still looks good yet does not match the original. Do not give the "G1 started it" G1 was made just to sell toys, comic and merchandise you are saying that because it came first. Example bayverse blackout and barricade both designs override their original design no one is going to look at the micromaster and think that's them, Blackout design came into animated and tfp comics while barricade design is literally so popular that newer design took it as inspiration, wfc trilogy barricade, wfc game which took his black colour schemes, and animated guidebook which also made barricade a cop. Transformers design is always changin so why does only bayverse get flaked upon this was a trend back at the time with unicron trilogy, animated and prime. Also bulkhead from energon was a helicopter junkie while from animated he is big, lovable guy which prime took inspiration from his design and put him in. Tfp starscream who looks nothing like his g1 counterpart yet acts like him his a traitorus con in the first 2 seasons. Tfp soundwave looks like nothing and yet he acts like soundwave, loyal to megatron, eyes and ears of the decepticons and spy on his enemies. Armada starscream look little bit accurate as he has no blue but only red and white and yet he's different he is loyal to him and only betrays when he is mistreated and decided to join the autobots and died to make two faction to join alliance to stop unicron. Tfa ratchet looks accurate and he acts like a grumpy guy with ptsd while his g1 counterpart is overall a nice doc. Que looks nothing like wheeljack and yet he acts like wheeljack as he creates weapon for his teammates, while tfp captured his coolness and wrecklessness. Bays ironhide looks like a grizzly tough guy which his original counterpart was depicted and he acted like that, while his tfa counterpart who looks like the og but doesn't act like him. Bays Bumblebee is so iconic to the point that many shows depict him with this design, tfp, cyberverse, earthspark and rid2015 with different head and even with the reebot unicerse, it's iconic to the point that bumblebee is a car with yellow colour and black stripes. Bays crosshair while looks nothing like his og counter part and yet he recieved lots of new toys of aoe and tlk. Edit: and probably is iconic at some point. Another one is Bays constructicon they look nothing like their ogs and yet they still looks good with the exception of maybe hightower. Another one bays soundwave despite his design he acted like soundwave in rotf, he gathered intel where megatron was dropped and send ravage to get the shard and later sends a team of constructicons to revive him, he later calls the cons to earth after primes death, he later tracked sam in egypt, in dotm soundwave acted as carly's car, which no one suspected until after he gathered intel he revealed himself like in g1 where spike found a small cassete and took it where soundwave gathered intel and later revealed himselft. What did bb soundwave do commanded the cons and ejected ravage, that's all he did, while future movies will come we will see and maybe i will change my opinion on him. It doesn't matter if they look the same everyone grows with their own show or movies but acting like every design should be the same will slowly become bland, if the designs look like they fit the character and acts like what it looks like it's good. Another example tfp megatron mixture of g1 and bayverse and i will argue that he looks more threatining than his g1 counterpart as he doesn't give the leader of the decepticons vibe than tfp or tfa. Bays megatron while he was a lacky after 2007 he planned the operation to retrieve sentinel, he fooled the humans and wait patiently when they were making galvatron and later took over it's body like tfa. BB dropkick does not like his orignial and yet he's my fav design while scourge and battletrap who looks nothing like their og and yet still looks good, i get the criticism on aoe and tlk as we cannot see the car kibble but complaining that they should like their g1 counterpart is at this point is overated. I get you want traditional characters look like their traditional characters but this make transformers unique, characters in different continuity looks different than their original counterparts and yet still looks unique and fresh, this is the beauty of transformers.
@mohammadhossain9608 The problem with everything you just said is character recognition. Not to us fans, but to the general audience. Let me ask you a question: do you have a problem with Spider-Man always looking like Spider-Man? Or Batman always looking like Batman? Not talking about the one off suits like the Big Time or Zebra suits. The main costume in every show and movie. I'm assuming no, because those characters are so iconic and well recognized that even a 70 year old in a place with no internet knows who they are. Why can't Soundwave have that same treatment? Or Red-Alert? ESPECIALLY Megatron. That's what Hasbro's goal is with the evergreen designs. THIS is what our characters look like. You can tweak them to fit the new style of whatever new project you're working on, but they NEED to resemble THIS. Also, the whole "G1 was just an advertisement for toys" argument is incredibly misguided. Every piece of Transformers media is a toy commercial. Even bayverse. They got rid of the integrated weapons of the first two films so they could market the new Mechtech gimmick for the toys. If the franchise ever wants to have any staying power in the public consciousness, it needs to have recognizable characters as well as good stories.
@@SNDWV99 I agree with some parts of the arguement that characters being recognizible, firstly that legacy character should be mostly recognizable like, Optimus prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Ironhide, Ratchet, Ultra magnus, Galvatron etc. Optimus: red and blue colour scheme Megatron: grey colour scheme with canons like tfp or g1 or retractable like bays Starscream: The plane cockpit should be on his chest (Idk about his colour scheme as he is a military earth jet which is mostly grey however if he revealed himself to the humans then he could paint job himself to be prideful) Shockwave: one eye, purple colour scheme and hand gun Soundwave blue and gold colour scheme, with face mask and visor( though i like bay's soundwave design, but it was silver due to make a revealation that he is carly's car to shock the audience) Bumblebee: yellow colour scheme with black stripes Ironhide: Red, black, canons like his tfp counterpart ratchet: depends if he's an ambulance then red and white however if he's an emergency vehicle then maybe green Ultra magnus: red, blue, and white or mostly blue and slight red like his tfp counterpart Galvatron: purple colur scheme with grey or colour scheme like his angry birds counterpart and orange canon Though characters like barricade, blackout, crosshairs, knockout, strongarm, and shadow striker who were forgotten characters literally had a redesign which we all recognize them as now (Barricade: cop car, blackout: helicopter, crosshairs: green sports car, strongarm: female cop, shadow striker: a bot damage to the point that after being rebuilt she looks like frankestein) these characters are forgotten but later were remembered as what they are now. Though design with some tweaks work like optimus with flames, bumblebee's stealth form, megatron's upgraded colour scheme (night stalker, dark energon redecos). There are also some artist like shan4rt and maxeralfa07 who mixes animated, g1 and bayverse to make unique redesign. But I agree with the points you made easily recognizable characters but with some few tweaks i agree with points, but i feel like hasbro should mix up design which create new, recognizable and unique design like armada optimus who had red and blue colour, with some tweaks like his truck grill being the body and smoke stacks on his forearms but still recognizable not flat up g1 with mechanical design, this is why i loved rotb arcee she resembles her g1 counterpart like the head, visor but had a different colour.
@mohammadhossain9608 I don't disagree. Barricade and Blackout are two of my favorite character designs, with Barricade being one of my favorite characters. None of that is due to the original micromaster. No-name characters like that can be revamped and reworked due to their obscurity. I just don't want every character except Optimus and Bumblebee to be treated that way.
The fact that you point out one of the most overlooked argument by the majority of transformers soys regarding bots screentime to cgi budget ratio gives me hope about humanity again. Well done boss... Well done.
Fun fact: Shockwave doesn't speak English or anything else because he hates humans and because of that he doesn't want to speak a language that humans invented
I dont feel like that would really be the case. he made the dino bots from observations of earth. hes a scientist war criminal. curiosity is in his nature and his emotion's were wiped so he can actually hate. he realized how much time he was wasting because his emotions would get in the way. he could of given himself his emotions back or given himself his arm back. but he chooses not to. it would be illogical to get rid of such an asset that wouldn't require him to have to transform into a vehicle. he has no emotions which lets him see his purpose more clearly and he wouldnt want it any other way.
I’m…impressed with how informed your opinion is on this iteration of Shockwave. I always thought they did him dirty in this movie, but after watching this video…my perspective on him has somewhat changed. Well done. I still think he should have gotten more screen time, but I suppose less is more in his case. Great job 👏🏼
A note on TF Prime's Shockwave and why I think he is really tough and not easy to take down: In his debut episode and throughout the rest of the series, Shockwave no sells fire power from the autobot canons regularly, most of the time not even flinching. He ragdolls Cliffjumper, takes him down with a single blast that doesn't even hit him head on, only explodes at his feet. Shockwave only takes damage when Arcree shoots him directly in the eye, blinding him, and even then, Shockwave stays on his feet and keeps firing until the space bridge explodes with him still inside it. Shockwave survives being at ground 0 of a space bridge explosion and remains functional enough to repair himself, even though he's blind too now. A similar space bridge explosion would later leave Megatron, who was also juiced up on Dark Energon, in a coma for half of a season. Megatron would have died if it he hadn't gotten treatment. When Shockwave comes back in season 3, he jumps off of a mountain-height tower and slams into the ground hard enough to raise a massive dust cloud and seems completely unphased. He takes Wheeljack and Bulkhead, two wreckers with immense durability and combat experience, down with a single shot of his canon. Later, he takes both of them on in a close quarters fight and dominates for the most part. Shockwave takes on Ultra Magnus, a highly renowned combatant, in a close quarters fight, and while it's clear he is outmatched in terms of skill, he takes numerous blows from the larger bot without going down and catches a couple of his blows with his hand. Shockwave ragdolls Smokescreen and Bumblebee, the only times they manage to knock him down are when they take him by surprize and blindside him. Shockwave survives a mauling from a horde of undread predacons without bleeding one bit. The one weird part is him going down to a punch from Bumblebee, but it was directly to the eye, which could be his weak spot. And he gets up right after anyway. So while I do agree that movie Shockwave is much tougher than people give him credit for, I do think putting TF Prime Shockwave as an example of a Shockwave that goes down easily is doing him a bit dirty.
Very true, I honestly never even thought about the space bridge explosion effects before. I didn't mean to imply that TFP Shockwave was weak, because he absolutely isn't, I just meant to say there where times he'd go down easily for a breif moment or so despite his strengths, though the guy would always get back up and continue the fight.
Two things you forgot to mention, TFP Megatron only clung on to dear life because of the dark energon, Shockwave didn't require that and before being knocked down by Bumblebee, he took down both Ratchet and Smokescreen, the latter was holding the Star Saber so he still did his part and then some despite the small role in the final episode
I always like DOTM Shockwave, but I was upset by the way he dies in the film, and this video solved that problem for me, and showed me that Shockwave was even smarter then I thought he was in this film, amazing video man, 11/10, keep up the great work!
Shockwave really won me over during his defeat. LITERALLY EVERYONE vs one bad guy is among my favorite combat tropes. Even Megs had one in the first movie, and then all that effort was just to slow him down from getting the Allspark. A headcanon I got is not only does he choose to not transform, but actually removed his ability to in order to add more armor and firepower. With the driller covering transport, the only real advantage to having a tank mode would be a somewhat smaller target from certain angles, and he'd have a little more protection around his head, both at the cost of maneuverability and reflexes. So, I once thought he was pretty good...Congrats, you've absolutely changed my mind. 😎🎉
Dude, this perfectly describes the impact that shockwave had on the film with that being a secondary villain and also goes to show how absolutely strong the character is in this iteration with him taking on multiple attacks from both the autobots and humans, this video does the con a lot of justice
Personally I remember feeling indifferent about him. I liked him and thought he was good but this does help make me like him more. The best way I can describe this video is turning on my rooms light showing all the love and dedication I have for the character. Safe to say you helped me appreciate my favourite character even more
Shockwave left such a massive impression for so little screen time, I honestly feel like he should’ve had his own side film. He should’ve been the main villian of Bumblebee.
I do agree that the design is cool, and you do raise some good points about Shockwave in terms of his character. However, despite that, I do think there are some things they they could have done better 1. Let Shockwave kill some onscreen people. They don’t have to be any major characters, just let him kill some background characters, and maybe 1 or 2 of the wreckers as well. If he has an onscreen kill count, then he’s seen as more credible if he actually kills someone rather than having no kills under his belt when even Blackout has killed more people 2. I would have made his fight with Optimus a little bit longer. Mainly have him successfully put his eye back in his socket and react just in time to engage in a hand to hand combat engagement with Optimus, he’d still lose because plot armor, but at least his last stand would be seen as more epic rather than giving the fans the impression that he’s weak. 3. Rather than him simply getting Optimus tangled up in cables, he actually manages to get a good enough hit in to the point that Optimus’s jet pack is actually disabled and Optimus himself is knocked out for a moment. Oh and also the second line you say that he speaks is not actually English, but a bunch of gibberish that gets accidentally misinterpreted as English in the subtitles.
When shockwave gets knocked over by lugnut, no one says anything, but when he can’t get a parachute of his head while getting shot at, people laugh at him, it just doesn’t seem fair
These two situations aren't even REMOTELY comparable. Lugnut is like 3 times his size and obviously far stronger, no fucking shit he'd be able to knock him over but there's literally zero good reason why he wouldn't be able to just immediately tear the parachute right off his head, under enemy fire or not. Honestly this video has some of the most reaching, copium-riddled arguments I've ever seen and the only reason it's gotten such a positive reception is that I imagine not many people want to waste their time arguing with someone over a series that is the textbook definition of "Cinematic Junk Food".
@@dannyboi5887 It's so weird seeing all these Baywunners continuously defending the Bayverse movies when everyone knows these movies are dogshit outside of the action scenes. DOTM Shockwave having some master plan that doesn't actually exist outside of the average Baywunner fan headcanon just makes them come off as genuinely insane. These are the same people who dog on all the other shows and movies within the franchise and just can't learn to let go of the Bayverse 7 years after it got rebooted.
This is my favorite shockwave design. I like that shockwave look like a skeletal insect made form sharpe metal. And it look very close to gen1 shockwave well still being different enough.
As another shockwave fan and loving the character here is a free sub also thank you for showing me other care about him as much as I do have a good day
I found Funny how Both Shockwave's VA in the Bayverae were previoulsy Megatron aswell -Daniel Riordan, his voice in the 2007 Game, played Predacon Megs in RID 2001 -Fred Tatasciore, his voice in the DOTM game ALSO played Megatron in that game & in Fall of Cybertron -& Of course, Frank Welker, his voice in DOTM, I think he doesn't really need me to present him 😊
Frank Welker explaining that Cybertronian dialect is gibberish he made up on the spot makes a lot of sense if you consider the "Decepticons, mobilize" scene from the 2007 film has every Decepticon relay to each other that they're on the move, and their voices sound completely different to one another despite them all speaking the same language. And honestly? I kinda adore it. It reminds me of how in Japanese, speaking the same language different is labeled as having a different "accent" despite the fact you're all speaking the same language. People rag on these films but it's legitimately amazing how much depth they actually have.
Didnt know someone share the same sentiment as me for Shockwave. Everything about him is Cool AF, from the design to the entry into the screen, everything sadly you are correct about the little screen time.
Good point. Shockwave lacking screen time is normal for him. He only appears in season 3 of prime, his animated presence is a double agent, he only has a few episodes in Energon before dying, and being guardian of Cybertron automatically means he wouldn’t do much in G1 outside of contacting earth or dealing with anything that came to Cybertron. And yet, most of his scenes just make him excellent every time.
Actually Shockwave is the main villain for an episode of season two in TFP as well. Oh and also one of the secondary villains in Predacon’s Rising, a direct follow up to the TFP show.
I was already with you on him being awesome. I was even more amazed that shockwave started the whole 3rd movie. so thank you so much for this amazing information and view on this movie.
I've always thought this version of Shockwave had a banger design and an amazing death scene, but was lackluster otherwise. I can confidently say now that You have changed my mind on the whole lackluster bit! He's way cooler than I'd previously thought!
Def made some good points and you're absolutely right, Shockwave is awesome here and he inspires a lot of creative writing I do, but I do still wish he got at least one more scene somewhere in like a mini decepticon group shot, but that's just cause I personally enjoy seeing villains watch their plans become complete, like it'd be cool if we saw Shockwave watch the space bridge open in DC with Megatron and Starscream or something
Shockwave in Dark of the Moon takes basically all the nest soldiers, the wreckers, and Optimus Prime to finally bring down Shockwave in Transformers Prime get distracted by a shiny sword and gets knocked out with one punch from bumblebee of all people Edit: don't get me wrong Bumblebee in Prime definitely have them hands but he's not the strongest character and I'm mainly just focusing on how it's a bad showing for Shockwave and side note that's kind of the whole point of bumblebees character he's supposed to be this weakish character who is capable of bringing down characters who are much stronger than him that's what makes him awesome
I would say shockwave is my favourite decepticon too. I didn’t really have an issue with him to begin with but you just gave me more reasons to love him
Shockwave was a great villain in this movie. The problem was that Bay lied to us about him being the lead villain in Dark of the Moon and instead made the main antagonist Sentinel Prime and I wonder why?
Honestly, this video made me a Shockwave fan. Omg he’s so freaking cool!!!! I wish we could see him be this cool in other Transformers shows and movies :)
As someone who always thought he looked dope as hell in the movies, this just makes me love him so much more. Soundwave will always be my fav transformers character though lol!!
Thanks for the eye opening explanation! I was part of those who thought he was weak without thinking much of the context, just on what is told to us directly.
Ngl, I think a good character redesign should at least acknowledge previous iterations, which DOTM shockwave does plenty. The single eye, purple color (I think), cannon arm, and (supposed) tank alt mode, as multiple other versions have had, and all this together makes it obvious who this is
This video is great. The only thing i would have added is a short segment on the ps3 transformers dotm prequel game because I'm pretty sure it was stated to be canon? Or if it was just a non canon way of explaining canon events like you said. Great video as always tho
Oh yeah totally understandable point to add, the only reason I didn't mention the games is that, again, I just didn't want to have to rely on tie-in media in order to make my points. Also the games contradict the comic events, as in the game, I don't think Megatron has ever met Shockwave until the end of the DotM game? And even then, not only would I have to analyze that game, but I'd have to analyze it's DS counterpart port, which is technically two games as there is an Auotbot campaign version and a Decepticon campaign version. And who knows how those differ. Basically it would have been alot of research I would have had to do just for me to disregard it anyway, so I just omitted it entirely. Would definitely go into it if I was to piece together a timeline for Shockwave though. In the meantime, thanks so much man, and thanks for watching as well!
This video did change my perspective on this version of shockwave and i also wanna add I always assumed he spoke in his native language as like a dignity thing, he saw it is as below him to speak in a Lower races laungage but your interpretation also works
The fact that they need to put a fatality or brutality on him just to kill him is incredibly bad ass. I just wish we sometimes would’ve gone at least a bit more screen time for also can’t wait for the re-issue of the studio series toy I missed out initially I’m waiting for it to come back.
Prime Shockwave was great. One of the most memorable additions to season three, imo, despite his limited screen time. His durability was inconsistent as hell though
I like it but its hard to tell apart from the other decepticons. Imagine they were all standing next to each other, facing away from the camera. Just a row of the same texture and silhouette
A 45 minute long video about Shockwave. This is the stuff that fuels me! I will always love the absolute nightmarish awesomeness that is Shockwave. The only thing I need is more of him, both in media and figure form.
Thank you for this video 😢I was never really conscious of Shockwave until I watched that movie, it's the only reason I love that movie, thanks for breaking it down.
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Shockwave but this DOTM design is my favorite, however you made a beautiful video on Shockwave's defense, and then tbh the little screen-time he has in the film is there, it was him to start the film, without him nothing would have happened, then the cannon in the in the right arm is the best, compared to the g1, it's a shame that it never transformed in the film but whatever
i already liked shockwvae in dark of the moon but now i know hes a f#cking genius also i really like the idea of the driller bot being his pet as it just shows how strong he is
I already said this before but: "actions speak louder than words" is a fitting description for this Shockwave.

I feel the worm fits more for Soundwave but I agree, let Shockwave be a giant horned terror
Optimus: red and blue colour scheme
Megatron: grey colour scheme with canons like tfp or g1 or retractable like bays
Starscream: The plane cockpit should be on his chest (Idk about his colour scheme as he is a military earth jet which is mostly grey however if he revealed himself to the humans then he could paint job himself to be prideful)
Shockwave: one eye, purple colour scheme and hand gun
Soundwave blue and gold colour scheme, with face mask and visor( though i like bay's soundwave design, but it was silver due to make a revealation that he is carly's car to shock the audience)
Bumblebee: yellow colour scheme with black stripes
Ironhide: Red, black, canons like his tfp counterpart
ratchet: depends if he's an ambulance then red and white however if he's an emergency vehicle then maybe green
Ultra magnus: red, blue, and white or mostly blue and slight red like his tfp counterpart
Galvatron: purple colur scheme with grey or colour scheme like his angry birds counterpart and orange canon
Though characters like barricade, blackout, crosshairs, knockout, strongarm, and shadow striker who were forgotten characters literally had a redesign which we all recognize them as now (Barricade: cop car, blackout: helicopter, crosshairs: green sports car, strongarm: female cop, shadow striker: a bot damage to the point that after being rebuilt she looks like frankestein) these characters are forgotten but later were remembered as what they are now.
Amazing work my guy, love this type of content 👏
Coming from you, that means a lot. Thanks so much man!
Ay! Theorymus is here! Hi
Theorymus commenting and yet it one of the least popular comments here, something is wrong....

I still think he should have gotten more screen time, but I suppose less is more in his case.
Great job 👏🏼
A note on TF Prime's Shockwave and why I think he is really tough and not easy to take down:
In his debut episode and throughout the rest of the series, Shockwave no sells fire power from the autobot canons regularly, most of the time not even flinching.
@@Blotzwave Yeah, that's fair (:
@@Blotzwave I am happy to see that there’s also a shockwave fan
Ya TFPrime Shockwave was a problem in basically every encounter

You got me. I’m a convert. You also just made me appreciate DotM’s plot so much more
Dude, this perfectly describes the impact that shockwave had on the film with that being a secondary villain and also goes to show how absolutely strong the character is in this iteration with him taking on multiple attacks from both the autobots and humans, this video does the con a lot of justice
i saw a video that adds subtitles to him talking, now whenever he shoots Optimus while he's up on the crane i can never unhear him yelling "Dummkopf!"
However, despite that, I do think there are some things they they could have done better
1. Let Shockwave kill some onscreen people. They don’t have to be any major characters, just let him kill some background characters, and maybe 1 or 2 of the wreckers as well. If he has an onscreen kill count, then he’s seen as more credible if he actually kills someone rather than having no kills under his belt when even Blackout has killed more people
Bayverse shockwave: literally demon
Transformers g1 and other shows: BOOBS
I love How he Loved the Dark of the Moon Shockwave So much That He Even Use His Head As He's Channel Logo And Even Name Himself After Him
When shockwave gets knocked over by lugnut, no one says anything, but when he can’t get a parachute of his head while getting shot at, people laugh at him, it just doesn’t seem fair
Lugnut is a pretty big guy though so there wouldn't be much issue in believing that.

Dude! I never thought of Shockwave as anymore more than a cameo in "Dark of the Moon". You fully convinced me.
People rag on these films but it's legitimately amazing how much depth they actually have.
i find amazing how convincing you made this from just 2 min of screentime, props to you sir
I was on the fence about Shockwave in DOTM until I saw this, but this video made me realise how *awesome* this Shockwave is
Didnt know someone share the same sentiment as me for Shockwave.

Shockwave in Dark of the Moon takes basically all the nest soldiers, the wreckers, and Optimus Prime to finally bring down Shockwave in Transformers Prime get distracted by a shiny sword and gets knocked out with one punch from bumblebee of all people
Edit: don't get me wrong Bumblebee in Prime definitely have them hands but he's not the strongest character and I'm mainly just focusing on how it's a bad showing for Shockwave and side note that's kind of the whole point of bumblebees character he's supposed to be this weakish character who is capable of bringing down characters who are much stronger than him that's what makes him awesome
Bumblebee was pretty strong in Prime though
You really gonna ignore all his other feats in that show?
damn cherrypicking at its finest lmao
@@ThaBababoey nah i've watched the show fully like 3 or 4 times and he's kinda right, that was a dumb moment
I would say shockwave is my favourite decepticon too. I didn’t really have an issue with him to begin with but you just gave me more reasons to love him
The artists actually started cooking with shockwave's design in this one
So happy to hear that someone else loves the shockwave dotm design as much as i do
Shockwave was a great villain in this movie.
Your transition to this topic of shockwave to that topic of shockwave was way to cool man
1:40 "hear out this whole video" bro it's 45 mins lol. I'll still watch it but that is a big ask
This is a really great video ngl. I’ve now definitely gained a newfound appreciation for this version of Shockwave.
Man Shockwave looked like he hit the gym and it’s a design I really fuck’n like because it looks badass
I find your defense... Logical.
This is such a well made video, put it up with Theorymus' why Megatron got weaker video. Great job dude!
Awesome video. Seriously helped me appreciate Dark of the Moon even more. Definitely made me appreciate Shockwave a lot more.
bro did 45 min video about guy that have 2 min screen time, thats impresive
@@Blotzwavecould you do a Shockwave in the bayverse timeline ?
This video did change my perspective on this version of shockwave and i also wanna add I always assumed he spoke in his native language as like a dignity thing, he saw it is as below him to speak in a Lower races laungage but your interpretation also works
Bro been posting nothing but bangers lately and I’m all here for it
I always thought that Shockwave was cool, but now he's even cooler
Shockwave is a character that lets his aura do the talking, no screen time needed
ALSO him acting "brutish" might ALSO be a trick: to get humans to underestimate his intelligence
We are in for a good time when the first thing we are served is grilled cheese
as someone who grew up with G1 and the Unicron trilogy i will alway feel that DotM Shockwave will always be a great adaptation
that was actually one of the best videos I've seen in quite a while
The fact that they need to put a fatality or brutality on him just to kill him is incredibly bad ass. I just wish we sometimes would’ve gone at least a bit more screen time for also can’t wait for the re-issue of the studio series toy I missed out initially I’m waiting for it to come back.
7:29 Linda-058 Argus Redesign in Halo 5 & Halo Fall Of Reach:
*OH, I DON'T THINK*
Prime Shockwave was great. One of the most memorable additions to season three, imo, despite his limited screen time. His durability was inconsistent as hell though
Unpopular Opinion: Bayformers Shockwave design is a lot better and superior than the G1 design. I said what I said
i completely agree with you good sir
I like it but its hard to tell apart from the other decepticons. Imagine they were all standing next to each other, facing away from the camera. Just a row of the same texture and silhouette
@@bingbong_luver not bad for me, I have no issue with it
@@bingbong_luver He has purple to identify him but due to the dust we can't see it but still true.
Seconded.
A 45 minute long video about Shockwave. This is the stuff that fuels me! I will always love the absolute nightmarish awesomeness that is Shockwave. The only thing I need is more of him, both in media and figure form.
You DEFINITELY changed my opinion! Thanks!
The shockwave glazing is crazy AND justified!
You're argument's.... Are logical!
Imagine how much longer this video would be if shockwave got an extra minute in this movie
Even being a joke, the video would he 100% longer
You win, you win, you have flipped my preception of Shockwave 180°, i now hold him on the same level as Bonecrusher and Brawl from the 2007 movie.
I never disliked Bayverse Shockwave but you made me apricate him a lot more.
i already liked shockwvae in dark of the moon but now i know hes a f#cking genius
also i really like the idea of the driller bot being his pet as it just shows how strong he is
