Great job, I grew up on Long Island NY in the seventies, and now as an adult living out of state, whenever I need to connect with my NY roots, I go right to Billy Joel's "The Stranger" it's a slice of home and the past all in one album.
I gotta say all in all this was a damn good performance! They all brought their all and added some of their own flair to this timeless classic making it their own in a sense and have having fun with it. The saxophone player took his own route in some parts of the song but still being faithful to the mood and energy of the song. It’s been a over a decade since this performance but I hope that they kept up with music because this was brilliant!
This is one of the best covers of this song I’ve seen your voices went so well with the song and all your instrument players did great! I know that it’s been 7 years and none of you are reading this but I just thought I might tell you how good it was
Helluva job, fellas! As for the haters, fugeddaboudem. Capisce? ;) A nice surprise out of a random youtube video! I loved this song as kid, when it came out. Y'all did great.
This was slightly painful to listen too, mainly on the part of the sax. I will say that covering any Billy Joel sound is an undertaking. Especially this song which to me is basically two to three songs in one. The singer is okay but could have used some practice. Not too bad.
About 3 hours of practice, 1200+ in the audience, and the piano player had not sung in public since probably the 3rd grade. I think they did more than ok.
You are missing the point. Their friends are playing for the senior class in their high school gym. They have to scream! That's what you remember from high school. "I was playing and all my friends were screaming for me."
This is solid but I have to agree that the sax weighs the overall performance down. Bass player also probably should’ve taken all the lead vocals. The piano player is not a bad singer I just think the bass player brought a lot more energy and dynamics to it vocally
@@charliemac64 The Bass player headed off to Nashville after graduation. This was the first time the piano player ever sang solo, and we hadn’t seen him sing in public since about the third grade.
@@theeatonskbunk Oh, I'm not slaggin' on anybody. It takes guts to get up on stage at that age and perform in front of your peers. I was merely noting the bassist's vocal ability was definitely miles ahead. Still an awesome performance! I wish I had the balls at that age to do that. :)
Obviously the guitar player is the star. Piano player is fine, but a bit robotic. The saxophone player is so annoying that it almost seems like his pretty good playing was prerecorded.
👍👊
Absolutely terrific guys. To have the stones to cover this song at a young age and kill it is awesome.
Screw all the negative comments. It was beautiful, well done. Everyone who played
I'm digging it in 2021 reminds me of every high-school band or those who wanted to be in a band. HIGH SCHOOL GOOD TIMES

They rushed it a little, but considering their age, this was very impressive. Nicely done.
Hehehe “rush” I like your profile pic bro
This ain’t an easy piece, at any age. Really nice job. 👍

Thanks!
That Saxophonist cracks me up
This kids are going places, I Already know it.
I really loved that performance. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into it
The only problem I have with this cover is that the sax guy didn’t play any part right
He definitely could have if he had tried, I think. But I found myself still waiting for those epic sax melodies.
I think Billy Joel would be honored by this❤❤❤
As a fellow SAX player we are always going to make the song better with our own touch
Daym, a decade later... Time sure flies...
Thumbs up before it starts. Doesn't even matter.
Great cover keep up the good work
Coming from a life long Billy Joel fan.....not bad at all guys, not bad at all
You guys are awesome!!!!!!!!
Wow! Superb cover - the vocals and sax are spot on!
Holy crap I was not expecting this
AWESOME

I’m sorry but can those kids please stop screaming every minute like I’m trying to listen to the song 😂

Bass player knows how to sing. You can tell in his projection and his control.

That was incredible 💯💯
Am I the only one who was waiting Kurt Hugo Schneider here? lol
everyone on point 👍
FishmasterDisaster not the sax
@@Ilovekghimothy Eh he did really well
FishmasterDisaster he didn’t play the parts right, but for his age it was good.
@@Ilovekghimothy The original solo is done on a different instrument then the sax. Its impossible to play the solo on a sax, so he made his own thing.
The drummer looks like Jason Biggs.
Curious what these guys are up to today.
Not bad, the Sax ruined the performance.
Sax man has to stop trying to 'look cool'. Girls dig sax. Trust me.
Really good cover, sax player too concerned about looking good than sounding good! Sorry, but it’s true
all sax players are like this though, guess that is the mood mood you have to be in to play a good sax
@@nvl2158 But HE isn't playing a good sax....
le saxophoniste perturbe l'ensemble !....

The person playing the white kazoo or whatever it was was not really needed but overall sounded good.
coreman1017 lmao wdym yes it was needed😂
