    I’m in the middle of watching your video right now and just want to say thank you for the way you approach all your subjects of interest , with calm and gentility . In my family as well as my boyfriends family , finances/money has somewhat of a negative connotation around it : you must always be in a saving mindset , if you purchased too many things this month (even if it’s a need ) you’ve spent too much , be modest with your thoughts around ‘wanting more money . It’s as if we are conditioned and taught that we are a bad person if you want the very vehicle that will move your life in a direction where you are living the life you saw in your dreams .

    got lost in the youtube algorithm for so long watching random crap and i finally came back to your channel today after years. i needed to hear some wise and comforting words from someone and you popped into my mind.
    i'm so thankful you did, because here i am feeling excited about turning things around and like i can actually regain control over stuff once again. and that it's also okay if i don't feel like i'm in control right now! if even the mighty rowena goes through this kind of thing, i absolutely shouldn't feel ashamed for it hehe
    thank you for doing what you do, your channel has made me feel alive again more times than i can count! keep being your amazing self, love you so much rowena!! ❤😭

    I will be dedicating my weekend to plan out my finances! Quite difficult because I have loans to take care of, but if I can aggregate them into this one big loan, maybe that would make my life at least 5% easier. It's tough when you're an accidental breadwinner, but I got this!!! Thanks, Rowena! ❤

    Thank you for this video; finances, especially financial freedom and organization, have been on my mind a lot lately, and the itch to try something different rather than waiting paycheck after paycheck has been so strong.

    Love Ramit! ❤ I can say I never would’ve heard of his podcast over a year ago if it wasn’t for Tim Ferris and the many content creators who reference his show.

    Thank you Rowena. Like you, I wish I had taken action sooner but better late than never! This was the motivation I needed. I came across Ramit in the Diary of a CEO podcast (July 2023) and his message and reassurances blew me away. Consequently, I have purchased his audiobook (admittedly more geared towards the U.S. but nevertheless helpful) and his workbook, which, thanks to the timing of your video, I shall get cracking on in earnest.

    I come across a lot of videos that says spending time with family is the goal and here I am the eldest of 5 siblings all who have left home to pursue their respective jobs, I have just turned 40 , unmarried and staying at my parents home because my job is here and also because otherwise my parents will be alone in a large home. My mother is retired in her sixties now and my father is going to retire next year. I am tired and want to get out and spend some weeks alone.
    And then when I see videos that says spend time with family and my hearts desire is the opposite of that, this guilt creeps up.

      @milililie ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm sorry you feel guilty. I think people who mention spending time with their parents are usually people who don't get to do that very often, because they usually don't live in the same town, or even the same part of the world! In my opinion, you shouldn't feel guilty for wanting to live your life. Even if you leave, you will always be able to come back, or visit on a regular basis, or provide help in some other way. Have you talked to your parents about it? They would probably be happy to see you happy.

    Thank you for another informative video..! While I have watched numerous videos which detail the same basic principle, it's just a bit more reassuring when you are stressing about finances. I'm not just stressing about my own finances, but my mother's as well, because it's a $hitshow..
    The good thing is that I feel I'm on the right track, the bad thing is that I don't make a lot by any stretch of the imagination.. My emergency fund looks to be ok, but moving onto the next step can literally be derailed by my mother's finances, seemingly at any time. So it's constant stress.
    Keeping my eyes on the prize..!!

    i have a genuine question, ive observed over the past few videos you give yourself allotted times to finish things (fixing finances in a week, getting it together in 30 days) why do you set a short period? is it like an algorithm thing?
    i dunno, we’ve got time, i can’t judge you, but give yourself grace! what is life if not a constant unfolding experience, why rush it?

    • @tonipashova6998
      @tonipashova6998 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      longer time periods might also give grounds for procrastination, especially if you're already prone to it as Ro has mentioned many times. shorter clear limits and deadlines inspire you to take action as soon as possible even if it's ineffective there's at least something you've done that you can reflect on later. progress over perfection etc.

    • @glitterstar74972
      @glitterstar74972 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonipashova6998 procrastination is not wasted time because you’re still alive, it’s only wasted if you set those expectations of failure for urself, any time that you are breathing and alive is meaningful, you could be sitting doing nothing for two months and the fact that you are breathing and existing is precious if you believe it so, life is a gift not a test of your limits
