2023 Honda Rebel 500-First oil change

Hey everybody! In this episode, I change the oil for the first time in the Rebel 500. Make sure you pick yourself up a filter wrench, so you can get it off! I picked up a 65 mm one from advance auto and it worked perfect. I bought an oil change kit off Ebay. I'll put a link down below. I also ordered a boltster mat so I wouldn't misplace any more screws. Make sure you check your level several times in the sight glass! We will see you on e the next one... Easy.

I had the dealer do the first service on my Rebel 500. I had them use synthetic oil in the engine. It made a big difference in the engine performance . After I bought the bike I installed a MagFilter to the oil filter.

It’s something I could always do down the road. I didn’t feel like a really expensive oil change. I think they said the service was 175 bucks. I’ll probably take it in next spring to have them look it over. I’ll be riding my grom over the winter.

Never tried it but saw someone hammer a flat head into the oil filter to get it off

Yeah. It's def an old trick to get off a stuck oil filter. If the filter wrench failed, it was one of my next steps... Thanks for the comment!

yeah man, I spent like an hour trying to get the oil filter off my truck.

Some gorilla put it on at the factory. I've never had any filter as stuck as that! Thanks for the comment.

Was watching to see the oil change process on the Rebel 500, but got distracted by the muffler. Is that aftermarket, or did they change the style recently? If it's aftermarket, may I ask what brand? I love how it looks, isn't really upswept to dump exhaust on my saddle bags, and it doesn't seem loud enough to annoy the neighbors which is a plus in my neighborhood lol

It is an aftermarket muffler. It’s a cheap Amazon exhaust. It’s a bit louder than stock but not too loud. Here is a link to one that is pretty much identical to the one I bought. The one I got is no longer available, but this is pretty much exactly the same. a.co/d/6DiRvTD
