    Thank you so much for this video. As someone without an iota of mechanic skills, seeing this makes me confident in doing the oil change my self.

    Very nice Vid. Thanks a bundle. I only use Honda synthetic oil and filter. The bike is new and for warranty purposes I had the dealer do the first service. I bought a FilterMag for the oil filter, A wise Idea. I might say also the Synthetic oil change after the breakin oil made a world of difference in engine performance.

    My owner's guide for my CL500 (same engine as CMX500 Rebel) says, that I should replace the oil yearly, but the oil filter should be replaced at 24 000 km. Is it save to remove the filter, let the old oil spill out and then put the old filter back?

      @@Njordica666 I personally replace the filter every time I do an oil change. Yet you are correct concerning the manual suggestion.
      If you are not replacing the filter. Do not remove it. Just drain and fill. Please note the oil required on fill up changes to account for this.

      @@SLIGHT_ Could you be more specific about the last sentence, please? I think I am not following.

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Njordica666 sure, if you are completing the oil change without replacing the filter, the new spec for filling the engine back up with oil is 2.5 liters. If you replace the filter it is 2.7 liters. The 0.2 difference is the oil in the filter. If you remove the filter to drain the oil from this, you will require a new filter. Also, you will not be able to accurately account for the oil soaked in that filter.
      Simply… if you don’t change the filter. Don’t remove it.
      If you don’t change the filter… put 2.5ltrs in for fill up.

    Nice job man. Are you doing that more often than the factory manual says? I know people change their oil more often would you recommend that? thanks brother

      Yes I tend to do the oil changes early. typically every 4,500-5,000km / 2800-3100 miles (this is not required... I always suggest people follow their manual)

    Please do help. Do you know how to change cam tensioner for Honda Rebel 500? As i have experienced some noise from center of the bike. I haven't noticed any loss of power, but the noise is pretty gross.
    I have also notice the sound is louder especially when i have less than 50% of fuel.

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s an odd description… especially with the tank isolation…
      Is it a timing noise you suspect?

      @@SLIGHT_ i dont know as the this is only 8 month old. Mileage is about 5000 miles.

      @@pinchail it should be under warranty. I would take it back to Honda to check it out. Rare these have engine problems. Without seeing the bike it would be extremely hard for me to assist you in the possible cause. Good thing is it’s young, and if there’s and issue Honda should cover it.
      Sorry I couldn’t be more help with this one.

      I had this issue too, it turns out that it was related to the chain/gearing. after I replaced both front/rear sprockets and the chain then the noise went away. I'm not sure that's the same as your particular issue but if the noise only occurs with your rear wheel moving then I would check the chain
