Totally underrated game. It's such a shame Sony won't greenlight a sequel, just because of review scores from reviewers who didn't even play the game fully.
@@fxcetimemyoppz3899 Days Gone is literally the pinnacle example of how a game and franchise can be permanently tarred by early bandwagons. It had multiple delays. It was buggy on launch. Both these things are true. It's now here and has been for years. It's now not buggy and hasn't been for years. But the legacy bandwagon reviews from early critics and whiners remain, influencing people years later.
This game is actually a continuation of an old game that I played when I was a kid, called Syphon Filter. There's a message in the game which mentions that the end of the world happened because Gabriel Logan failed his mission. Edit: For anyone wondering, Days Gone is made by the same development studio who made Syphon Filter. They're currently called Bend Studio, but back when they made Syphon Filter, they went by Eidetic.
I’d love to see this become a series. I remember being excited for this when it came out but I was not prepared for how strong the story beats pull you in towards the end of each “chapter”. It’s a great game and I’d love to spend a few more hours in its world.
The fallout series was actually really good. They showed Netflix how to make a good game TV series not like the Jennifer Ciri & mages show.. My bad it supposed to be called the Witcher.😮😢
The thing I loved about this was when Deacon goes to the mechanic at Copeland's, the guy mentions that he read "zen and the art of bike riding". The actual title of the book is "Zen and The art of motorcycle maintenance". A book I read in high school which has stuck with me for over 40 years. Love this game and love that bit of culture was added.
Same here. I wish he would have just said the actual title tho; swapping it around didn't feel like Manny "misremembering", it felt like the studio being afraid of bullshit litigation or something. Just mentioning the title of a book isn't violating any laws!

It is underrated but not "the most" not by far it has so many flaws ... So, I'm gonna turn 50 next year. I've played games almost every day since 1981, on everything from consoles, PCs, tablets and phones. I hope you believe me when I say that Days Gone us one of the best games of all time. It obviously learned a lot from The Last Of Us, but as an open-world narrative action adventure game with skill trees and a really satisfying balance between gunplay and stealth, thus game sits happily in my Top 25. I've played it through three times in varying difficulties and the jeapoardy I've felt each time I've played is fantastic. Starting off feeling vulnerable and building into an absolute killing machine is so satisfying, because every step feels like it could be your last. I look forward to watching your series, I hope you keep going because what you felt the first time you played will only grow as your move through the game. Good luck, and don't be afraid to run like f**k =)

I have genuinely wondered why you haven’t played this game before. I totally understand why now and I’m sooo glad you’ve finally got to dive into it. One of my top five favorite games ever. Zombies? Check. Looting? Check. Settlements? Check. Motorcycles? Heck yea. Piles of undead hoards? Oh yea. It’s one of the zombie stories that inspired me to write my own. ❤

From the initial reviews, I thought it was going to be just an okay game. More recent videos said it was great, so I gave it a shot and bought it on steam. I was completely hooked. One of the few games where I actually completed the game through and through. Great story, gameplay, and it's one of the few games where you get a genuine rush of fear when dealing with the hordes. There's nothing like the horror of accidently stumbling across a large horde.

For some reason all the outlets shat on this game. It's like they didn't get past the first 6 hours. This game really shines once you get an arsenal and start taking on hordes and such. It's one of the things that makes it unique.
@themightycrixus1131 to be fair the game upon release had tons of game effecting bugs until a patch was released so honestly it was likely those bugs that contributed to not so great reviews but after the fix the game is really good imo
@badmoonrizin4545 Would be interesting with before and after reviews where the game is where it should have been on release. I hope it gets a sequel with even bigger hordes.
Days Gone is my favorite ‘zombie’ game after resi 4 and it’s so disappointing how absolutely underrated it was. The hordes in this game in particular always impressed me and I loved the motorcycle mechanics, not to mention how compelling the story and characters are. Glad to see other people who really enjoy this game, would definitely love to see you finish it.
I always enjoy watching you play, something about how you immerse us und yourself in the games makes it ten times better than with other TH-camrs and now Days Gone is like a dream come true. I love this game and so much and like others said as well the game is incredibly underrated and was picked apart from critics. I would love to see this becoming a series and I think many others would love that as well. This game was the first title in a long time to get me hooked and invested and is easily in my top 3 games that I have played so far, so thank you for the video Fooster and stay awesome! :)
THIS is literally the BEST GAME EVERRRRR, so glad u came back to play this. When you left it years ago I was like nooooooo, but man, I cant wait to see your reactions to whats coming, have fun Fooster!!!!!
this game is so good. i knew you would love it. it focuses a LOT on story and there's basically no required "grinding." 99% of the side missions are extremely rewarding too. the writing in this game is top tier
I have always liked post apocalyptic games. Even though I have not played most of them. I do enjoy watching other people play these kind of games. My favorite game would have to be fallout 4. Although last of us is a close second. By watching you play this game it has made me want to play this game so much. Your a good TH-camr man keep up the good work.

I don't care what people say, I loved Sam Witwer's muttering and yelling. He didn't have to “go hard" as the kids would say, but he did and he nailed it. And between this and Pacific Drive, I hope we see more games where a vehicle is basically the deuteragonist and evolves with the player.

@@activatewindows to me was the bike riding walking dead vibe, then i was left walking because i ran out of fuel, i realized it wasn't to be played like other games, so i played more carefully, and had some real fun, hated the melee weapon durability, the story is a bit predictable, but i was craving a different type of survival game so i stuck with it, the bike and knowing the actor made me continue, enjoyed it soo much its one of the 2 only platinums i ever did
@@fnhatic6694 i get you, there's a lot i don't like in this game, i was wishing for a far cry survival / zombie game, but outside that dlc and the new dawn caca,i'm out of luck, i'll give you an example of an open world little old gem, red dead undead nightmare, dying light, dead island 1, theres plenty online like dayZ, when in doubt, googlerino is your friend, don't miss cool games because marketing didn't reach you
@@Superiorlumbago9260 I'm not a fan of the melee weapon fragility either. You can't really call it "realism"; in the real world an all-steel fire axe doesn't go "poof" after like 20 swings! Or 200, for that matter.
36:49 y'know I relate with how Boozer says "don't take my shotgun. ...I feel naked without it." bc we all have one or a couple of item(s) or cosmetic thing(s) that each of us feel naked without. Me, if I'm going outdoors to hike or even to a grocer, it's these 3 things: my tomahawk, my Sig Sauer Custom/CZ Advance Custom/ammo kits, & my bugout/survival/first-aid kits. I have a hiking/camp/survival bag with detachable pounches, & it's always fitted with pouches for the ammo/attachments, tomahawk, & bugout/survival/first-aid kits.
One thing I will ALWAYS love about this game is it's writing in dialog, especially all of Deacon's self talk. It feels more natural than most other games where they just talk out loud for no reason. For Deacon, it's a quirk of his where he fully whispers to himself, rambling, spitting ideas right out of his head like he's in the process of planning and reevaluating. His little celebrations when he gets a kill feel like a man that really has spent a long time to himself, so he's always quiet during it. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!
I feel Deek in my soul, man. Massive self-control at war with damn-near-as-massive rage... idk, maybe I wish I DIDN'T feel him in my soul, but damn, I get that character. I also love the sheer muscular brutality of the knife kills... most games, it's like "just sort of gently touch the mob with the bladed weapon and it dies" but whoever worked on Deek's knife sequences has clearly butchered enough meat to realize that "just a gentle poke or swipe" is NOT how it works with a knife.
Have been waiting for this for so long… every time you talked about hordes I screamed ‘Have you played days Gone yet?!” This game is one of the best zombie games I’ve ever played. Enjoy 🥰
Fun thing about the oil can suppressors they kinda work but only drop the loudness by just a few decibels and can be quite loud a TH-cam channel I think Kentucky ballistics tested it out if I remember right
Going to be totally honest, I started playing it Maybe 2 weeks ago when I bought my ps5, at first was definitely hating on the game but now I'm obsessed with it
I absolutely loved this game. I remember it coming out; but it just sort of slipped under the radar for me. And then I got a ps5, and realized it was in a collection of free ps4 games on my ps5. When I finally played it, I was blown away by what I had missed out on because I hadn't heard great things about it at all. Criminally underrated game. So I really hope this becomes a series, I would watch every second to see the story again.
we like this big smile on your face when you playing game c: 53:55 hmm, people wouldn't be terrified that it's their last day if they knew the truth about death, which actually doesn't exist. Yes, their bodies die, but that's all. Nothing really dies in the universe, because energy cannot die, and man is energy, a cloud of consciousness. It is very easy to find out what his previous lives were like through regression hypnosis [you can even do it at home] or learning to enter a trance with the intention of learning about your previous incarnations. Amazing experience. Interestingly, there is a psychiatrist who became interested in this topic and discovered that regardless of age, country, culture and religious denomination, during hypnosis people talk about the experience of death and previous lives IN THE SAME WAY. Unfortunately, although it was once common knowledge, they tried to make people forget about it, because fear is the most effective manipulation tool, and people who know the truth about death are not afraid of anything, they cannot be intimidated
This big thing about remembering past livee, is this a real thing or are you referring to something in the game, it sounds very interesting, I’ve finished this game btw and dont remember anything about past lives so thats what caught my attention

This game never gets old! Thank you so much for reviving it. I would personally love to see it as a series.
This is one of my favorite games!!! Sad we will never see a sequel
Yup I'm so so sad about it..I hope they change their minds eventually cuz after that O'Brian ending I was hooked and wanted a sequel so dang bad
@berzerkthejerk36 legit hurts, but we get remastered versions of the last of us.. again. I'm not hating on tlou, but come on, Sony/PlayStation.
I loved days gone, now if only they'd make a sequel. Fooster, you're gonna love the secret ending.
@themightycrixus1131 Yeah, I had gotten it after all of the fixes, I guess, and thought it was great all the way through.
@badmoonrizin4545 Would be interesting with before and after reviews where the game is where it should have been on release. I hope it gets a sequel with even bigger hordes.
@@fnhatic6694 I find this game to be FAR superior to TLOU.
Quite honestly, if you decided to make this a series, I'd be over the MOON. This is my favorite game, and to watch you play this would be FANTASTIC.
I'm so glad Fooster is finally getting to this one. Absolute gem of a game.
Plz make this a series this is one of my favorite games absolutely love it and I’ve been trying to find more play throughs of it for years
I think this is the most compelling video game story I've ever played. You need to play it, even if you don't make videos. That said SERIES!!!
PLEASE PLEASE make a series of this, even tho I'm sure most of us have either played it, or seen it, I wanna see it thru "Foosters" eyes!!!!!
Days gone is one of my all-time favorite games, god i wish it'd get a sequel.
This definitely needs a series. This is one of my top favorite games and your enthusiasm and positivity makes for a really fun watch
This feels like such a good fit for the channel please make this a series, especially if it’s a game you enjoy!
Please please please post the rest of this game I LOVED this video and I’m sure many others did as well!!
YESSSS I loved this game!!! Can’t wait to see you play through 😁
Mee to bro ❤
Same here
Please do more of this! I have always wanted to see a playthrough of this, but nobody managed to hook me, but you most definitely could.
Please please please please do a series!
Right I'm doing the lottery, I was sitting watching your play through of mad max this morning and I thought to my self you should do a run through of Days Gone.... wtf Fooster!! Dude!! Unreal sir, soo buzzing, please do the full game, it's long but so so good
I don't care what people say, I loved Sam Witwer's muttering and yelling. He didn't have to “go hard" as the kids would say, but he did and he nailed it.
And between this and Pacific Drive, I hope we see more games where a vehicle is basically the deuteragonist and evolves with the player.
Sam really did KILL it with the voice acting. If Wikipedia can be believed, he did the mocap for Deacon also.
This game was / IS incredible. It deserved a sequel, but SONY nixed it because initial sales were slow. LOVE seeing you play it Fooster!
Yup the O'Brian ending had me completely hooked and wanting the sequel super bad
There is no shortage of story for a sequel. The fact there isn’t a follow up just doesn’t make sense.
@@fnhatic6694 you are delulu if you think this game resembles tlou other than being survival post apocalyptic zombie game and i hope there will be never a game like tlou 2 because it s.ts on itself
I just bought the game thanks to your series, never seen it before and it ticks all the boxes. Damn! First game in 10+ years no joke.
Ik im a bit late, but i just came across your channel.. Thank you for playing this masterpiece. I've loved this game since it came out, I've played through it so many times, and I'm going to play it again! the story, the emotion, everything was just perfect. this game is perfect at making you feel what the characters feel. Thank you again
So many people said this game sucked… I’ve got the platinum trophy on this game twice over…. Such a masterpiece and i’ll never understand why people hate on this game… It’s an actual masterpiece… Anyone who hates on it; didn’t play it for anything more than an hour or 2.
I’ll never understand why people love it like you do.
The classic “it gets good after 12 hours”.
The game is so fucking dull and the story is awful.
@@activatewindows to me was the bike riding walking dead vibe, then i was left walking because i ran out of fuel, i realized it wasn't to be played like other games, so i played more carefully, and had some real fun, hated the melee weapon durability, the story is a bit predictable, but i was craving a different type of survival game so i stuck with it, the bike and knowing the actor made me continue, enjoyed it soo much its one of the 2 only platinums i ever did
@@activatewindows Honestly, fuck you. No need to bring that negativity in here.
I wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you put into all these videos to make them the best ever.
I could easily watch this whole playthrough! Please make it a series 🤍
Yo its crazy that they give a nod to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance
This is such an underrated game Fooster. So happy you are covering it
Really excited to see where the story goes Leoj!
YES YES YES YES THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES OF ALL TIME, I’m so glad you like it and are playing it!!! ❤❤❤
Yeessssssss. I have anxiously been awaiting this playthrough.
Edit* please oh please make this a series. Do the game justice.
I also love the sheer muscular brutality of the knife kills... most games, it's like "just sort of gently touch the mob with the bladed weapon and it dies" but whoever worked on Deek's knife sequences has clearly butchered enough meat to realize that "just a gentle poke or swipe" is NOT how it works with a knife.
nice to hear the rdr2 callout that is my favorite game as well, played the story like 5 times.
Have been waiting for this for so long… every time you talked about hordes I screamed ‘Have you played days Gone yet?!” This game is one of the best zombie games I’ve ever played. Enjoy 🥰
Days Gone is a great game and takes a long time to complete but it feels good when you reach the end.
Fun thing about the oil can suppressors they kinda work but only drop the loudness by just a few decibels and can be quite loud a TH-cam channel I think Kentucky ballistics tested it out if I remember right
Going to be totally honest, I started playing it Maybe 2 weeks ago when I bought my ps5, at first was definitely hating on the game but now I'm obsessed with it
The level of detail is insane. His pupils dilate too. 😂
please make this a series
I absolutely loved this game. I remember it coming out; but it just sort of slipped under the radar for me. And then I got a ps5, and realized it was in a collection of free ps4 games on my ps5. When I finally played it, I was blown away by what I had missed out on because I hadn't heard great things about it at all. Criminally underrated game. So I really hope this becomes a series, I would watch every second to see the story again.
we like this big smile on your face when you playing game c:
53:55 hmm, people wouldn't be terrified that it's their last day if they knew the truth about death, which actually doesn't exist.
@@ourhometv6001 no, we mean in real life :)
since Fooster and his fans [ME INCLUDED!!] all love Foosters apocalyptical style of videos...he should totally play Dead Zed!! its a bit old now but it is a hella fun game..would love to see that!!
Would totally watch a series of this.
Please make a series of this game
Fooster is back in Days Gone!!! Lets goooooooooooooo!
Continue play the game , don’t stop
this is great, game is well made and immersive and the way you play it makes me feel like i am there in that world, looking forward to more of it
morrowind was that game for me i literally couldnt go without thinking of playing for about 2 years straight
My favorite game is silent hill all of them . By the way there is going to be a part 2 to days gone. The creator of the game was enterviewed and said there is going to be a days gone 2.
Game that effected me the most is probably Minecraft, it’s a classic but, playing alone or with friends always makes me smile. Heading the old soundtrack is the only thing that makes me cry
This is one of my favorite games. I discovered it by accident a couple years after it came out and have played through twice. Story, zombies, non repetitive side missions, motorcycles, it’s all amazing
Randomly came across this video. over the past weekend and damn me if your excitement didn't infect me too.
Started playing it as well and having a blast.
if anyone knows anything about outlaw MC's and the real world meaning behind some of the patches deacon has on his vest, particularly "Nomad", "Enforcer" and "MFFM", then it just adds the proverbial chefs kiss to this gem.
The last guardian definitely is my favorite game, I’ll definitely look forward to playing through RDR2 story mode because I only played multiplayer so far.
Really would love to see you continue with this play through. I loved revisiting this game, being able to pop this video on and get immersed for a few hours. It’s cool seeing it again all these years later and how it holds up. Hopefully looking forward to having some more videos to dive into.
I can't believe he's actually start playing this I thought I just stopped I love the days gone series I can't believe that she brings back cuz today I'm surprised thanks 😁
I never get tired of the subtle sound changes you make to your voice when entering a different environment. You really nail the immersion!
We absolutely need a series for this!! Was one of the best videos till date! Was waiting so long for this one!
I know one pro game dev who have been working on Days Gone style game with amazing story and same kind of Days gone 2 feel soon will see his work on his channel i hope days gone community give him support. because sony don't care about days gone game.
Came back to part one just to leave a comment. I love this series, and I am all for the longer videos. Just wanted to show my support by leaving a comment during every video. Thanks again Fooster! I really needed this today.
Love this game I have it for ps5 played it all the way through such a well thought out game. I also hear that there is a possibility of a 2nd addition we will see. Keep up the amazing work Fooster keep it going...
one of my favorites and absolutely insane that there isn't a sequel yet
I've been playing Skyrim for so long, it's so good to see a game with such excellent play mechanics, graphics and, above all, top-notch writing and voice acting! Thanks for sharing! :)
This game surprised me in so many ways I thought it'd just be a game to blow iff steam blow things up etc but I became immersed in the world, the story. Brilliant. Loved playing it
I’ve been hooked on this, this morning and to my delight it is almost three hours long 😮💨 what a great start to my Sunday. Thank you Fooster 🔥
The only game I have 100% and not only that I continue to play it to this day. Also the community for this game is incredible.
We can only hope one day they come back to this game.
This game has everything you'd want
32:10 Fooster:” we gotta be quiet”
Also Fooster:” starts beating the absolute fuck out of a freak with a baseball bat”
Istg this gets me each time😅😂
I need to see you do more of this game, one of the best videos I have watched in a long time.
An Awesome game and looking forward to watching you play through. DEFINITELY need a series 👍😀
