Hi, Bostonian here, no, this won't happen
He's getting confused with the Revolution's plans of moving to the same area,
Yeah the revs wanna build by the casino in Everett. There is no room for another stadium in Boston
Northeastern is building a new stadium
Where are they going to build it 😂 plus there locked into a lease to 2036 let alone the infrastructure is already in place on site
😂😂😂
Nahh TD garden is awesome. They’ve done a great job building up the area around it with bars and food halls. Also right above a train station which is perfect for getting into the game.
Great atmosphere forBruins games.
Nah td garden sucks 😂 the real garden is Madison square garden the world most famous arena. :)
@@Him7382more banners tho
Things never move this quickly in Massachusetts.
Don't listen to this. Celtics signed a 15y lease acouple years ago again with company that owns garden. They also own the bruins too. So they aren't going anywhere
Yeah Jeremy Jacobs is going to abandon the building that he owns and rent from the Celtics
Okay
The TD garden isn’t even 30 years old. They tore down the old garden and that stood for over 60 years. A new arena makes no sense
Bc the Celtics don’t own TD. It’s owned by the Jacob’s family owner of the Bruins so they dont get most of the revenue from it. With a new stadium they would
It’s not even 30 years old. The United Center in Chicago is 30 years old and it’s in tip top shape
Eh kind off. They still have the same old seats from its opening. They need to at least replace them.
United is old.
@@Ktaurus26 False. The seats have been replaced. They're the same color, but they've been replaced.
lol United is pretty old..you have think of technology and internal infrastructure (i.e. plumbing , electrical) it’s fairly outdated. They could do complete gutting like MSG a couple of years..might as well start fresh? But I highly doubt since Illinois is super broke
@@neogigo The place has undergone additions and numerous other changes over the past 10 years. It does not need to be replaced.
Lifelong Celtics fan and long time season ticket holder here. I grew up going to the old Boston Garden and went to the first game at the Fleetcenter (now TD Garden).
You are right and wrong about this news. The Garden (in all its iterations) have always been owned by the Bruins. The Celtics have always used the building rent free, but the arena employees, food service, pro shop, etc are run by (and collect the profits) by Delaware North, which is the Bruins ownership corp. This is why there are no Celtics statues around the building (they are around the city) and up until recently the seats were always black and gold (for the Bruins colors). The Celtics dont even have their own pro shop, just the bruins pro shop that sells Celtics merch. The current Celtics ownership, led by Wyc Grousbeck, bought the team in the 00's and originally wanted to build a separate building for the team. He's said so in interviews before, but it didnt work out. Most recently he mentioned wanting to bring a WNBA team to boston, but could not since they do not own the building. With how much the team is worth compared to when he bought it, add on the recent success, and the WNBA hopes.. I bet the Celtics leave the TD Garden for thier own building.. While the TD Garden remains for the Bruins and for concerts/events.
So I bet the Bruins and TD Garden are going no where, but the Celtics are missing out on alot of revenue and opportunity by not having thier own building.
Wyc Grousbeck is delusional about a WNBA if he really believes that......nobody cares about the WNBA, regardless about a Caitlin Clark and nobody would attend 😂
Do the Bruins have priority when it comes to scheduling? Like, when they make the NHL and NBA schedules, they obviously have a number of shared arenas they have to work around, TD Garden being one of them.
Don't be surprised if Depressed Ginger says the Celtics will relocate if new arena plan won't be approved
He already has a vid in the can for it. Its after his boring political videos and his conspiracy 911 vids lol
😂😂😂😂
😅
😂😂😂😂😂
The Rhode Island Celtics 😂
Seriously, Where do you come up with this stuff?
This stadium doesn’t not need to be replaced. I’ve been this arena twice and loved the arena both times
Its ridiculous many arenas built in the mid 90s are fine. Here is my crystal ball prediction. A new arena will be built in Boston and 20 years after that the Celtics will complain and want a newer arena. Its insanity
I went to a march madness game there and it was awesome
I don’t think they would relocate😅
Also the Celtics singed a 15 year lease extension 3 years ago…
Yeah those darn leases.. They seem to get in the way. Video is BS. They are not building anything in Mass for a long time. Like saying the Pats want a new stadium.
I work in architecture. Unlike the arenas of yesteryear, the ones built in the mid 90's were all specifically designed so they can easily be renovated. Almost all the arenas that went up in the 60's and 70's only had a 20 year lifespan and cities who were investing in these projects did not want that to happen again.
There is a trend emerging with super luxury arenas, but to justify the multi billion dollar price tag, you need a hefty STH base that is willing to put up 6-figures a year, which is really only economical in select cities like LA or NY
Celtics aint thinking about no new arena right now or anytime soon 😂
From MA, would be a big mistake by the city / team to leave TD. The location on Causeway has a ton of businesses and restaurants attached and next to it. Doubt the Bruins would leave, so you're gonna take up space in Boston for 2 full size arenas and create competing locations for concerts etc?
exactly. That’s why I don’t believe him. I’ve been to the Garden as a huge Celtics fan and there’s no way they get rid of it. They just spend hundreds of millions on the Hub on Causeway and the fans don’t express frustration with anything. Plus the location is perfect with the T and next to all those businesses on Canal.
Arena is owned by the owner of the Bruins. The location is great too. They aren't going anywhere.
That's okay, they'll make up for it with the casino... oh wait, there's already a casino within 5 miles of it.
Celtics have a lease at TD Garden through 2036. Delaware North owns the arena and the Bruins.
They built the shopping center and condos in the old parking lot.
Okay, here we go again...we have a team that has played in a stadium/arena for decades, in this case the Bruins and Celtics in the Boston Garden which opened in 1928. They move into a new arena, TD Garden, in 1995 and now you are telling us the 30-year-old arena is obsolete and needs to be replaced... while the previous one lasted 70 years. 🙄
He’s a goofball
There's nothing wrong with TD Garden. That building is amazing. And this is a Lakers fan saying this.
To say the TD Garden isn’t special is a dang lie first of all and secondly this ain’t happening anytime soon. It’s counter productive to renovate the garden back in 2018 then to turn around and build a new arena for the sake of… other NBA teams doing so. Stop it, this is rat poison
The only reason the C's would consider moving is because the Garden is owned by Bruins ownership (despite that as others have pointed out, the C's signed a long lease extension). Otherwise I don't think they would leave Boston proper even for an inner suburb, it would just be a bad look. I don't know if anywhere in Boston proper with the amount of open real estate needed for a hotel/casino/arena complex and all the parking required. People love the location of the garden and how accessible it is by public transit. The Garden could definitely use an exterior renovation at this point but the interior is actually nice as hell by any standard. They're not going anywhere.
American team with a huge perfectly good newly renovated arena:
"we need a new arena"
This is not true the Celtics are not moving. They are locked in on a lease with the Boston Bruins. He also stated that the Boston Bruins would likely move in with the Boston Celtics if they moved and that would never happen because Jeremy Jacobs currently owns the TD Garden and Jeremy Jacobs would never give up owning the TD Garden to rent somewhere else.
@@Trainfan310 I know bro I just made a joke😂
he could very well be right now with the news of a sell. I regret commenting hate before, but wow this is crazy

@@Trainfan310 same. It was so so shocking. I’m happy about the Tatum and DWhite news but I’m just hoping the new owners understand they’re in Boston and keep trying to compete for championships
why is any arena more than 20 years old a dump to this guy?
You really don't know Boston, do you?
There is no room in downtown for another arena, casino and other facilities. There is just no room
He lives, as best as I can tell, in suburban Cleveland.
He makes up sh*t about arenas, stadiums and ballparks all the time.
@@DanB-ez8fzthis. Anyone with two brain cells should be able to see the abject lack of evidence for what it is.
Build it in the Boston common lol ....the shady side where people get stabbed and shot every now and then.
as a heat fan who hates the celtics this arena and kaseya center won’t be replaced anytime soon
One of my favorite arenas in NBA would hate to see TD Garden go. Multi million dollar renovation at most is all that’s needed
You got a good source. Mannix reported this shortly after the selling of team. Wic probably couldnt get funds for new arena and couldnt afford what the team will cost.
Hey these videos about new arenas and stadiums are getting stupid. The Celtics have no plans to move neither do the Bruins . The just did major renovations a few years back. How about doing a video about the Detroit Pistons, and Red Wings moving to a new arena.
DG, a casino/arena is not in any way happening with a new casino. I could see them going up to partner with Encore and Kraft’s soccer stadium, but the Massachusetts legislature would need to approve any additional casino. And the people in South Eastern Mass still have not built the one allocated to that region. Plus, Encore has exclusivity rights in Eastern Mass. They aren’t giving up that market to another casino.
While you may have heard that “sources” from perhaps inside the Celtics WANT to build a new arena in 5 years, that’s not happening. It took 20 years of planning just to get this one built.
It's clear the video creator knows nothing about the Boston area. It makes no financial sense to build a casino within 5 miles of the existing one even if they got around the red tape of the local government and any deal(s) Encore has. Moving to Everett where Encore is doesn't make any sense either, it's not as good a location as where the TD Garden is now.
Cmon bro there's no place to put a new arena anywhere in the city or metro area. Boston is a tiny city and it's crazy expensive. There's just no room for it.
Make it look just like the old Boston Garden!! That was a travesty demolishing it
It had to go. It was a dump, too small, couldn't be upgraded in any way.
A friend of mine said when being in the upper deck of the Boston Garden, you could see the rats crawling above you. He also said there were "obstructed" view seats; which meant you had a 3 foot wide barricade in front of you.
Harry Sinden once said that the engineers told him that the old Garden steel girders were getting tired. Having been in the second balcony during a particulaly crazy playoff game against Buffalo, I can confirm, the structural steel was getting tired, and very 'bouncy'. 😂
The homage to the old garden in the new Hub building was brilliant. I love it.
Two problems with your thought of a new Celtics arena. First. There is absolutely nowhere inside Rt. 128 ( I-95 ) to build an 20k seat arena. Unless they dig up the Public Gardens or drop it in the middle of Boston Common. Secondly Mass is only allowing the two casinos and the one slot parlor to be open. All of which have been open for years. The only exception to this is if the Wampanoag tribe gets some things done and opens a casino on their land. But their land is further away from Boston then Foxboro is, and there isn't any public transit service to the area from Boston either.
The creator of this video clearly knows nothing about the Boston area and if not totally making this up, did no verification from whomever his source is. There's already a casino within 5 miles of the TD Bank Garden. The TD Bank Garden sits on top of North Station, one of the two big transit stations in downtown Boston meaning its in a perfect location and they're not going to easily find a better one. There isn't clear open space in Boston to build something this significant at ay reasonable cost. It would surely cost well more than the $1.5 billion the video creator claims. It makes no financial sense for the Celtics. They didn't have to pay to build the TD Bank Garden in the first place, it belongs to the Bruins and they have a lease. Why take on that massive cost when they can just continue to go with the lease? Especially because the things underpinning the theory, that they are going to build a casino with it is never going to happen and would be insanely stupid even if the local government approved it because there's already one right there.
TD is in a perfect spot! If you have ever been there then you know there is NOT a bad seat in the house! Place gets loud too!
People need to realize that the Bruins own TD Garden and the Celtics are merely renting it out. If the Celtics have their own building, they'll be able to make more money through such avenues as sponsorships and they'll be able to manage the luxury tax situation better. Just look at what the Golden State Warriors are doing.
The only redeeming part of this story is that this new arena would be privately funded. It would be a shame to see the Celtics and Bruins move away from their roots on Causeway Street. I really don't see this happening anytime soon.
Or if you are a proud Boston citizen. Put up your share of tax dollars to build a new arena
Listen DG. The only way they leave TD Garden is if they rebuild it. They just build the Hub on Causeway. They don’t have any problems with it. I don’t believe you. I’m sorry.
Also. The Bruins own the arena. The only way they move is if Grousbeck helps Jacobs fund it.
Edit: I’d like to apologize, DG, with new ownership this could be spot on
I can see why it makes economic sense for the owners but WHERE ? There is no open space in Boston for this?
Sounds like near the Encore but that’s crazy
tons of open space in seaport area.
@@tvd1188the seaport is a pain in the ass to get to. There’s no public transportation other than the silver line. Any open land there would just be used for more high end condos.
Nothings wrong with the damn TD Garden
if this is the case the closest casino in Boston is in Everett so they'll be the Everett Celtics lol
Why not “New England”?!
Lmao yo... The celtics arent getting a new arena. You are hearing nothing from nobody. Go tf outside.
I'm assuming that "attached to a casino" means they want to move to Everett (Encore). 1. Getting there sucks there's no public transit, and there's only 1 parking garage that's under the casino that fills up on a normal night, forget an extra 20k for games. 2. Bob Kraft already wants to build a 15k/20k soccer stadium across the street which is the only build-able area with the Mystic River behind the casino. Also the Bruins (Delaware North) own TD Garden and dumped a shit-ton of money into it so there's no way they're moving.
I don't see what's wrong with TD Garden...or the Moda Center for that matter.
The Moda Partners, Inc. Center was built in 1995, and it was known as the Rose Garden arena. 👌
The moda center needs a renovation badly.
The teams won’t be consulting you.
Why does it take 8 minutes to repeat so and so team needs a new arena with a casino and hotel or so and so NFL team needs a new stadium with a translucent roof or so and so MLB team needs a stadium with an attached ballpark village and drinking rails?
So every team needs a new stadium now with a village, translucent roof, casino and hotel. Got it!
They literally just Signed a 30 year or so + contract to remain in the same TD Garden
I get they are gonna fund it themselves but the NHL & NBA can both fit into the same arena. Share it ! And we need to start getting arenas & stadiums lasting 50+ years especially with todays technology enough with this new stadium every 20 year crap that the Atlanta Braves started 🤦🏻♂️
TD Garden is their permanent home I say just renovate a bit
They might move the west coast
Delaware North completed a $100MM renovation six years ago.
There’s no immediate need for any further work of note to be done.
I am sorry but there has been no word in Boston about this. For years as is mentioned, the land would be used for MLS and the revolution... owned by the Kraft Family ( Patriots owner)...... The land is about a 10 minute drive from where the TD Garden sits now.. and.....yeah... every report for years has been about the MLS Revolution. Depressed Ginger can you please confirm you've seen the reports for the Revolution? Thank you
1 billion dollars for a arena and surroundings is amazing
Not sure if u knew this but celtics just signed another 15y lease wit the company thats owns td garden, who also owns the bruins acouple years ago. So unless they buy out that lease they aren't going anywhere. Sorry to let u down. Would have been nice though. So just a rumor thats all
Don’t you guys feel so dumb with all your comments saying he doesn’t know what he is talking about. New ownership probably means this guy was spot on.
I do now, yes, just because if you were to tell me our team is getting sold would baffle me a week ago. But wow DG got it right
@@Jackson54321 I have a feeling it could be the Saudis, met with the team and JB in Sept.
@@jmathurin207 I guess, but I don’t think the nba would allow it. I see FSG or a local business group buy it, and the new arena thing can’t happen until maybe 2034. The lease is until 2036, so if a new owner happens to want to move I’d see it around then.
@@Jackson54321 FSG won’t be able to purchase because LeBron is still playing and has a stake in FSG.
@@jmathurin207 yeah I mean that’s true. I don’t know how exactly it works but expect a buyer within the next 6 months
I don't know what this guy is smoking and don't want any of that. TD Garden is hands down the best arena for hockey and basketball. You have the arena, subway and train station underneath, a Stars Supermarket, Starbucks, and a few other stores. There are hundreds of resturants within walking distance, if the food hall isn't your thing. You can't for the life of me convince me there are better arenas.
Coming from someone who works within a mile of the place, it's in a perfect location. It's on top of North Station, one of the two biggest transit stations in the city. It's right near the North End with a ton of Italian restaurants. It's right next to 93, the highway going north out of the city. They'd be insane to move.
The Garden is the best arena in the NBA. They aint leaving lol
They aren’t leaving the td garden you just make shit up
Who are you and what makes you think you have a clue? What "connections" do you have in Massachusetts?
You really don't have any idea. Why wouldn't the Bruins move with the Celtics? Ahhhhhh, the Jacobs, who own the Bruins, also own TD Garden so why would the Bruins leave.
Massachusetts is not allocating any more casino licenses. There is a Wynn Casino in Everett, about five miles outside of Boston.
A. There will not be another large casino in Boston.
B. The Celtics will not move to Everett.
Do some homework.
i wouldn't change it. TD Garden is based.

At least he has the knowledge of these sports venues.
@@SuperDave30he doesn’t tho. I doubt he’s ever been to one the way he talks. Just because something was built in 95 doesn’t make it decrepit. The arena was just renovated in 2018. It’s connected to massive transport. It’s not going anywhere.
@@KPnDC Idk about other sports but in an older video he mentioned only being to 3/30 of the MLB stadiums lol
OK, so Major question here when we bring this up what percentage of funding was paid for by the government for TD Garden? I also believe that 5% at most public funding was used for Gillette Stadium so assuming they actually do this as an entirely privately funded arena construction Does Boston have the least amount of funds Major going to their sports venues? And if not, what city has the least amount of public funds going to their sports venues?.
Zero. All private.
Some surrounding roads etc were built and improved for Gillette, but that's pretty normal business.
We don't build arenas for sports clubs around here.
As much as i would love to see the Jacobs and Delaware North get screwed i don't see this happening. Where is the open land?
Everett.
If they hadn't started building a skyscraper over it, South Station might've been a plausible site. Other side of the Fort Point Channel does have enough land.
They also never sold the Hynes as far as I'm aware. The fit would be a little tight there, but it should be technically possible, and that site would have the benefit of the entire entertainment district already around it.
This won't happen though, not in the near- to mid- future anyway. This dude does not give much reason not to doubt.

This makes perfect sense to me. Wyc and the other Celrics owners have limited revenue since the Bruins (Jacobs) own the current arena. Meanwhile, the payorll penalties are huge, and are getting bigger. All thiese fans who have commented that the Celts don't need a new arena will be the first do complain when Derek White is allowed to walk after next season. IF you want any chance at a Celtics Dynasty, Wyc has to increase revenues... even if he has give up equity in the team to get the investment. Mark Cuban, who is far richer, had to do just that, in order to get investment for a new Mavs complex.
Or.. you guys in Boston and cough up some tax money. If not. The Oakland Celtics sounds nice

Why can’t the Coyotes get a new arena??? I just want my team back. We have fans, we just want easy access to the games.
You can still watch the Coyotes by driving up to Salt Lake City; just leave 11 hours before puck drop.
the Celtics are a good team
the coyotes are a bad team
The Arizona Coyotes were like the Kansas City Scouts and the Seattle Pilots. They were all hopelessly underfunded and uncompetitive.
As a coyotes fan I agree with this statement. No way I’m supporting the Utah team. In the meantime of putting my fandom into the Bruins. I’ve always rooted for Boston sport’s second to Phoenix teams
@@davidlafleche1142 unfortunately I agree with that statement. I believe we will get a team back someday considering multiple cities have gotten second chances but I believe it’s going to take 10 - 20 years.
Lucky to get it done in less than a decade-and-a-half in Massachusetts. No chance it’s done in 5.
Td garden sits on top on North Station. Easy access to games for all and the bruins play their.
The Gahden is awesome and has a great vibe and location. But if a casino will help with construction so it could be attached to it they will do it. Here on Massachusetts are always the last ones to upgrade holding on to old stadiums. It will be great and have many more options for entertainment it's all about the money. More money for the team. The Bruins will be involved as well.
Does this guy realize that the TD Garden is actually owned by the Boston Bruins owner? The Celtics are just tenants to the Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs. The only way the Celtics get a new Arena is if the Bruins get one. It wouldn't make any sense to have 2 separate indoor pro sports arenas in Boston.
1) special thing. Parquet flooring. 😎
This is already a great arena.
Don’t expect that for a while. Look how long and extremely costly it took for the Big Dig to get done.
North Americans need to stop dishing out money for new arenas. If a team wants a new arena, then the owner can build it with 100% of their own money. This place isn't even 30 years old. Boston Garden was nearly 70 years old when it was replaced.
This is more about the Celtics not owning the Garden. The Celtics valuation would increase with a new arena and if ownership is paying a lot of luxury tax then they would want to increase revenue potential
Yeah this is the only reason I could see for them to want to leave a really good arena in a good part of Boston. That, and maybe the slightly below-average capacity, though that really doesn't matter much these days.
I would see it more likely that the Celtics try to fork over a hefty sum for a 50% share of TD Garden from the Jacobs.
@@tklalmightybe ready tax payers. Don't lose your team for good
@@sirchi8731 actual relocation would effectively be a thorough self deletion for the Celtics and Bruins. No way that's happening. No reason for it either, both teams get ample support from Boston and are engrained in the city's cultural zeitgeist at a generational level.
I don’t see why the Celtics and Bruins need a new arena, the TD Garden is up to high standards.
People keep posting ‘nothing is wrong with this or that arena’. Thats not the issue. These guys competed in business long before they did on the court, it’s about winning the profit game also. In fact, I bet these guys get more of a charge out of getting a brand new arena built and than they do winning a championship. They don’t think like you and I think that’s how they got to be billionaires. Good enough is not good enough.
Celtics are different man.
From MA, The original garden was the fenway park of arenas. Nothi g would suprise me. So the celtics going to Everette? Or to fort Point? Old feuit and meat market?
will Chicago bulls get a new arena and were would they build it
There's nothing wrong with Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank Group Garden.
If they move, will it be in the City of Boston or a suburb of Boston in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts?
The Jacobs family own and operate Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank Group Garden.
They also own Delaware North Companies, Inc., headquartered in Buffalo, New York. They own racetracks, casinos and are big in the hospitality industry.
False. Bostonian here. TD garden just had a major facelift and they would be out of their minds to move anywhere else.
Even though the current arena is not a dump it doesn't compare to the old Boston garden I am so glad the Celtics ownership is paying for it bravo
I think the tax payers should pay for it
I find it ridiculous that all of these arenas and football/baseball stadiums want to be replaced after 25-30 years! It's nuts really! The old Garden was used for almost 70 years! Not saying every stadium/arena needs to be utilized for 70 years but damn.. 25-30 years just seems like a waste of money...
I don't believe this guy has sources. He's just betting on this based on franchises not wanting to stay in arenas beyond 30 years.
WTF? an arena that is 20 yrs old is already outdated?
Boston, should stay at Toronto-Dominion Garden until Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup or beat the Bruins in a 7 game series or the Raptors beat the Celtics in a 7 game series
Very challenging to find a location in downtown Boston to accomodate. Current location is served by trains and T.
"It's in a bad location"
It's literally on top of a train station and right off the highway. It's about the only thing that's easy to get to in Boston.
I'm really sick and tired of all these pro sports teams always wanting new multi hundred million or multi-billion dollar arenas & stadiums every 25-30 years
Why don't they just partner with Kraft and New England Revolution build a multipurpose like Stade Pierre-Mauroy in France.
There’s nothing wrong with the arena they got now. It’s not even that old. Cmon give me a break. As an Isles fan I waited almost 50 years for a new arena. Stooooooooppppp!!!!!.
I hope the Celtics get their own area fully OWNED by Celtics ownership
I’d be happy to help build it, but the TD is pretty legit. No need to change
As long as no government money is involved, their business
Nothing wrong with TD Garden.
The only way I could see this happening is if they did a Battery-Style complex for the Celtics only. It would have to be in the Suburbs. No way it would happen in Boston
Why? What's wrong with TD Garden now? It's a great arena in a perfect location.
With the news of the Celtics being up for sale coming in today with any transaction being closed in 2028, this video is starting to look better
1) it won’t happen, 2) moving the Celtics out of the second largest transit hub in the state would be a fucking disaster
Unsubbing. False info. TD Garden is the best stadium and no plans to remodel it is happening.
They plan on going to the west coast

Why the bloody hell would the Celtics (or Bruins) leave TD "Gahden?" It's in a perfect location for everyone. Right on top of North Station, the second busiest train station in New England - only South Station is busier - where there is both Commuter Rail and two "T" lines, the Green and Orange. It's in the small West End neighborhood with easy walking connection to the North End and Downtown and adjacent to shopping centers, a movie theater, and restaurants. If they moved to Everett - and they won't - they would forfeit essentially all of this. Rest assured, there will be a THIRD arena built on this spot - the original "Gahden" was built literally nine INCHES away from this arena - before the Celtics (or Bruins) skip town. Let's get real here.
I'm not saying you're a liar, but as a wise man on a duckboat's t-shirt once said "state your source."
Celtics might announce they want a new arena but I'm gonna go with "I doubt it."
This is bs, this guy is Mr misinformation
