I like how you explained at the end how you also work on generating power while working on the upper cut.
That’s actually true with almost every technique that you work on in forms.

This wing chun looks better than the usual wing chun on youtube.

Hey Adam, I'm your student! Appreciate the video on the uppercut. The round shots are so under explored in wing chun despite being present in the forms. Will be interesting to see what you say about it in the course.

Good to see the explanation about that as an uppercut punch. Our Sifu has described it as a ‘punch from anywhere’ type of strike. Meaning you are facing one way, then you turn and strike to different place.
This could involve going under or around. I like the blending of both concepts. I enjoy your many videos and blend of styles and brainstorming.

And headbutts and shoulders. Good for creating confusion, especially when super close and you have their hands trapped. Allows followup techniques goig back down the links if you wish.

I've been saying this for years - the forms display concepts, options, not specifics. The "upper cut" in all the ways you mention. It can be used as a control - forearm on the outside of the opponent's triceps.

I guess this guy has not been in a real street fight.

@Barry. You won't be conscious long enough to necessitate multiple techniques against Adam in a street fight, mate.

People that get into street fights are losers. And the people that are more of a loser are the ones that think that others should get into street fights.
