Our Worst Nightmare Happened - Tesla Model 3 Accident

On Dec 4th 2021 we crossed the US/Canada border for the first time in nearly two years with the goal of shopping and filming a video of our weekend road trip from Vancouver to Seattle. Things didn't go quite as planned.

So terribly sorry that your beautiful Tesla got damaged by a careless driver. That's what worries me a lot about driving in Ottawa area where we live, esp in winter. We got our Tesla Model 3 SR+ in August this year. It's gorgeous, and, as of yet, undamaged LOL. Gonna cry when it gets damaged, as it will. Hope you get it fixed quickly and that that window doesn't shatter on you. (hugs)

Thanks Debbie, things are progressing much faster than we expected with the repair. Hopefully we'll be back in action in early Jan. I am confident that your car will skate through undamaged. I am glad you love your Model 3, we can't wait to get ours back.

When you repaired your car - did you leave them 1 key card? and do you need to do anything else (ie. do you need to do service mode? or valet mode ?)

Well. I feel your pain. I FINALLY got my model 3 on November 27th. Same color as yours. About two weeks after bringing it home I wrecked it. I was backing down my driveway and BAM!....I backed into my old 15 year old work truck. I felt so dumb. I wrecked my own vehicle in my own driveway.

Dented rear quarter panel. Bumper scratches. Have an appointment to drop it off at the body shop in January.

It was. And now with the US/Can border restrictions again we’re gonna have to wait a bit longer for our return to Karl’s Bakery, which I know will be worth the wait.

merely my opinion, the color of your Tesla is one I equate with being the most difficult to see as it blends so well with gray asphalt or concrete. Still, no excuse for backing up without a clear view.

I've never thought about the colour, but in this case I don't think it would have mattered if we were bright yellow, this driver made a series of mistakes that just all combined in one moment. I've been driving my self nuts thinking, what if I had been 10seconds faster or slower somewhere else that day, none of this would have happened. The fact is this never should have happened. However, everything is getting sorted and we'll have Phineas back in early Jan...hopefully.
