I'm a Japanese small retail investor, owning just 800+ Tesla shares. I couldn't vote and truly thank all the members of this proud community.
As an average man, I can't tell if Elon is a true genius or visionary but am confident he is a man of idealism and integrity, a polar opposite from Akio Toyoda, the entitled "prince" of Toyota and those moronic bureaucrats leading Nissan, Honda and co.

Same here, I thought I could not vote from Japan (Rakuten Shouken) but after listening to Alexandra Merz I found some X posts from other Rakuten clients and it is possible to vote by requesting it on the contact form. Only point to note is that Rakuten closes the ability to vote around one week early (I guess they need the time to compile the votes since it is a rather manual system).

I have my first tesla, I drove in my life 1.5 million Km, I drove Toyotas, Audi, VW, Ford, Honda, BMW..., my Tesla Model 3 Highland Long Range is an incredible car. Not only I would buy only tesla now, but I am now a new investor..., yes late but a total believer in a bright future

If you see this Tesla thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻. I took delivery of my refreshed M3 LR in stealth grey black interior in March. My first EV🎉🎉. I absolutely love this car. Thank you for making a great product and listening to your customers. Every day it puts a smile on my face getting inside of my car. I love the tech and minimalism they are fantastic. I love the acceleration it's ridiculously fast. Having no stalks is awesome. The auto shift out of park is 99 percent accurate. It is so small but it makes a difference. Another thing that is so simple but so satisfying is when I take my seatbelt off and the car goes into park. Mind blown 🤯🤯. The constant software updates are awesome. I literally feel like I'm driving another new car. The " spring " update is amazing. I love the UI and the hands free trunk is a game changer and to think I got this with a software update and not hardware. Simply amazing. Thank you Tesla for making awesome products. Customer for life 👍🏻😎
My CT is SO amazingly good. The suspension damping is by far the best I've ever experienced. Bently quiet. Corvette fast. Symphony hall sound system. Bulletproof doors. SUCH an incredible, nimble steering. Etc, etc etc.
My neighbor was going to pass on the Foundation configuration offer on his reservation. I let him drive mine. Deposit was put down.

I thought that person was also saying “take care of yourself mate”, and that is actually a good thing given the stresses that he probably puts himself under. In fact there were a few questions along this line - basically related to succession planning. I’d hate to see things dive bomb if something happened to him.

Spare us your ill-informed indignation. Read the Associated Press report from January on judge McCormick decision. She found " the process leading to the approval of musk's Compensation Plan was deeply flawed. Musk had extensive ties with the person's tasks with negotiating on Tesla's behalf." The working group working on the pay package included Musk's former divorce attorney! Do you understand the difference between the pay deal, the results, and the process? It's the latter that was messed up.
Tesla is a public company owned by its shareholders. It is not Elon Musk's piggy bank. The ongoing tragedy is the board is still stacked with friends and cronies and is not independent.
I told everyone freaking out when it happened they were being idiots. It was a ruling that the required procedures were not properly followed, which was true. Elon had already taken the money and done stuff, there was no way to practically take the money back from him. Following the steps properly and redoing the vote was always what was going to happen. Elon and team freaking out about it was always dumb.

Need to take a break slow down and relax
I think this home HVAC system should take heat from my freezers and refrigerators, and dump it into my hot water tank. It should take hydronic heating from fireplaces, and redistribute it to the floor. It should be able to move heat around the home from liquid cooled computers, to hot tubs and AC, the heat should be moved to where it's needed. The inefficiency of my fridge dumping the heat out the back, or the bottom, warming my floor tiles, just to have the heat pump take that heat and move it outside.... Why not have it come straight from the fridge, to somewhere it will be useful, like my hot water tank, rather than outdoors? The more heat and cooling sources in the home you can tap into this way, the more efficient the home becomes. And the Octovalve, or some iteration of it, seems capable of controlling this type of setup.

Super kool thought. However we will soon stop preserving energy. The whole star rating and extreme efficiency will not matter. We have kind of solved the energy problem(transmission is still an issue) all we need is to scale it up. Also I think this is our worst attempt (renewables like solar, wind) and even that is like 40-50 times better. The universe is at motion always and motion requires energy and energy can be converted. So energy can be solved now with our f'ed up attempt so in future it won't be a problem at all
Great idea, the problem is moving heat between multiple sources and sinks is fiddly, hard to program, low efficiency unless the temperature differential is big, and unreliable. I know this because my house had solar thermal tubes backed up by an air-water heat pump heating both my domestic hot water and hydronic radiant floors. The system ended up with multiple cooling and heating loops at different temperatures, two heat exchangers, a dozen variable speed pumps, multiple zone valve controllers, thermostats everywhere, ... It never worked correctly, it was impossible to program it in reverse to cool the house and use the heat extracted for hot water, and no one could understand it to fully fix it. After a few $700 repairs I found a plumber willing to figure out the system enough to rip out most of the parts, and just have one domestic hot water tank struggle to send heat through a heat exchanger to our underfloor heating loops. And I installed a simple (expensive) standard Mitsubishi ductless mini split heat pump to circulate hot or cold air through most of the house.
A car is a uniform device where the sources and sinks of heat are close together. Your dream will require builders to settle on a ruthlessly standardized home design that can accept a modular core containing most of the appliances, plumbing, heat exchangers, and vents, and a much smarter system controller that knows how to meet occupants' needs based on the weather outside. In the meantime it will be up to homeowners to be smart about siting appliances, opening windows and vents, and turning on fans to move heat around.

FSD Interventions are so 2023. Need to monitor drivers closer to see 'unease' and get DOJO to work toward minimizing that.

Crane Trucks, Logging Trucks, are also interesting "Extensions" to the base line of Semi's!
let's start with ordinary semi, that alone covers like 80%, getting into specialized heavy machinery is no joke and requires insane amounts of additional investments of everything, especially time

I’m on FSD 12.3.6 and still getting interventions on the daily. Bay bridge going into Annapolis, MD is dangerous if you’re in the far left lane (which can be used bidirectional).
Similar experience, same bridge. Right lane westbound was closed, showing the red X overhead. I was in the middle lane with traffic slow. FSD decided to move to the closed lane and sped up. Immediate intervention required.
We live in a time where promotion and storytelling is infinitely more important than reality.

1:45:00 can confirm, wanted a Tesla for years, test drove the Y and fell in love. Just I am a 26 yo with one child and one on the way... I can't afford the new ones, my best bet is second hand but they are still new and expensive. Making more of them will ensure I can get one for the right price point with age and mileage.

@@JohnSmith-pn2vl imagine how much better the Model Y would be with the 800 volt battery, 48 volt electronics, reduced wiring with Ethernet, improved UX, quieter cabin, V2L power sockets, rear wheel steering, steer by wire, improved air suspension, and quad motors (!!) from Cybertruck. Some of those are more appropriate for the Model S and X, but Tesla needs to improve all its models at the rate it used to.
At 0.99% financing!

Finally someone pitches manufacturer owned and private contracted fleets. The non electric auto industry could recap losses by creating fleets with newer cars (non autonomous) until the car life expires and they transition. Wouldn't that be cool....

I have no desire to swap my ICE vehicle just to swap the engine to electric. For me the change to EV is also about the vehicle technology platform and Tesla leads the way. There is no other vehicle with the capabilities of a Tesla today and with their ability to keep updating it will stay that way for ages. I hope to be able to purchase one soon, although I might wait for a MY refresh then make my purchase, since I plan to have my EV Platform for a while.

The biggest cost barrier now to Tesla's more than the monthly fee appears to be insurance. Including Tesla insurance. Big sticker shock hopefully will be addressed through reduced repair costs.
My Tesla insurance is 150/n
my tesla insurance is 180/month on a brand new 2024 m3p.......comparably priced vehicles insurance wanted 300+ for the same coverage.

Sorta disappointed in not allowing FSD transfer freely between cars when upgrading (I don't mean between multiple cars one owns on a whim)
Kinda one of the big things holding me back from purchasing FSD, since the price is so steep; subscription I don't really jive with either.

I wish my interventions were this low. I think the car is mostly technically capable outside of some dangerous edge cases but I definitely have problems with my car jumping in front of speeding cars or behind significantly slower cars. I've stopped it multiple times from trying to change lanes into the fast lane at 60mph when there was a Semi going 85mph a few hundred feet behind.
It has a tough time finding the right lane in my urban driving but to be fair, those do get pretty confusing for anyone who doesn't know the area.
The whole AWS thing of letting your car do computing while it's idle, is that something that the owner of the vehicle could make money off?
Yeah, one of his earlier presentations mentioned that the owners would be compensated.
My question is: Would it make sense to get this working now, so that Tesla can do training on their cars instead of building new computing centers?

Watching the annual meeting I was struck by how similar Elon is to a character in the movie called Life with Eddie Murphy. In the movie, convicts that are doing life in prison spend their evenings mesmerized by a shyster telling them exciting stories about the glamorous life that awaits them when they get out. Even though they know they're never getting out and the story is nonsense, it gives them hope to keep living. Elon gives people hope. Truth is irrelevant.

Why stop at a mere TAM (Total Addressable Market) of every person on Earth for Optimus? Clearly, each Optimus would need at least two more Optimuses to handle their tasks, leading to exponential market growth. An Optimus could even purchase other Optimuses with their earnings, creating a nearly infinite scale of itself.
