I have a question. I see you are connecting the gray LAN cable from the POE power supply to your modem. As it is with you, it is with me too! But now my question is, do I also need to connect my laptop with a lan cable to my modem/router? Or can I also save settings in the UniFi via WiFi?
Hi, any suggestions as to how I can get the AP on the same SSID as my router so It’s a seamless transition between AP’s? Been trying to find decent instructions and this is best and closest video I’ve found so far..
it's required for operation. How are you going to power it otherwise? Unifi has also a wifi extender doesn't need ethernet and can just be plugged into the wall.

I have a Motorola mg7540 that I’m planning to hook up a unity wireless access point via Poe. I read the mg7540s Ethernet port does not have poe. Can I still set this unify nano jd using poe?
Great video. Looks easy enough. Ok and If I want to put the access point far it doesn’t have to be wired to the router correct? Only 1st time for the initial setup let’s say and then you just need a plug to power it up and it connects still to the WiFi router of your house?
@@Joshiyotis Thanks for the easy explanation. This basic information is missing from the manufacturer which calls its products with difficult names and never tells what they are and what they do.
Only once to configure it. If you run the 'captive portal' then you need to leave it running (its the guest wifi with log in page like hotels use) . Also they have a mobile app so you can open the mobile app configure and close.

You don’t need a router you can plug this directly into your modem and create a wireless network, correct?

A plug in the wall is connected to the router. I have one of these plugged into my wall outlet and sitting on top of a cabinet.

What if I use 3-4 Access Points, will it automatically combine SSID's or would I need to login credentials for each new Access Point.

No, this is not a wireless repeater, it is a wired access point.
