Your tutorials have been such a blessing throughout this year, such a great place to start learning to draw digital landscapes! Thanks so much, i’ve really improved since watching your videos!
Just found your channel. Love what you do for the art community - Especially for procreate. Thanks for your content and can’t wait to go through all your stuff 😁
I think I spent more time on this one than any tutorial I have attempted, but I'm more satisfied with the result, too. I ended up completely failing on the sunset three times, until I finally abandoned what you were showing, and used a different technique. I ended up doing the background trees in a solid layer in front of the sunset, then using a layer mask to lighten the tree layer in front of the sunset. I guess whatever gives you a result you're satisfied with, right? Thanks for another great tutorial!
HI James thanks for the amazing tutorials, to avoid the line separating your fill from your shape just slide your pencil to the right while keeping your pencil on the fill after the animation appears ;)
Thank you, I demonstrated that on my moon tutorial last week, but even doing that I found it still needed fine tuning so thought it’s just simpler to paint over the gaps lol.
I'm new to your channel and I already love it. Just a quick question: do you use any screen protector on your iPad? I'm using Paperlike and it feels the colors are a little off...
I really enjoy your tutorials! One question for a newbie at Procreate: how do you get your brush size and opacity sliders on the right side of the screen? This would be really helpful. Mine are on the left and my pencil and hand cove the info as I adjust these. I don't can't find a setting to switch them. Again, thank you for your great tutorials!
Hey James. What's your feeling on matt and paper-like screen protectors? I previously had a base iPad which has a very slippery/reflective screen and felt like I really needed one. I just upgraded to the new iPad Air 4 which, like the pro and I can tell it's not nearly as slippery or as reflective. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth degrading the colors and sharpness with this nicer screen. Thoughts?
It’s a matter of what you can live with, I’ve never used a screen protector much, but I have to live with a few little scratches. I think on my next iPad I’ll get a protector but not a texture one
choosing the color is the hardest. understanding the behaviour of color is hardest. most of the times i struggle with not being able to choose the right color. i understand value. but i struggle at saturation change and hue change. apparently no one teaches that on youtube for free... i do art just based on my intuition.
@@JamesJulier-Artist With my ipad i cant do 300 dpi because says to large, can i put for example 100dpi and then when artwork is done i export to photoshop and increase to 300 dpi is that possible? thank you very much! btw love your work!!
I don’t think it will improve the definition after exporting, but if you have put the dimensions in at 100 x 70 you probably don’t need anything like 300. Have you had success with a smaller dpi?
Hey james! I just wanted to know that, how can i build my career in digital illustration or art? I am from a country where art is not that important than other countries. Plz.. help
It’s a difficult enterprise, I suggest just keep working at becoming really good and hopefully opportunities will arise over time if you get good enough.
This looks amazing but the sound is putting me off to watch, I'll do it, but please improve your sound system/recording as your tutorials look incredible! Thank you.
Never thought I would manage the crows, but with your gentle, expert guidance it was easy. Thank you!

It’s not easy to teach in fairness, it’s a lot to do with taste and individuality
Toll erklärt! Schade dass es keine Untertitel gibt.
I have a question, what dpi do you recommend for a large print ? like 100cm to 70cm
300 should be more than enough
@@JamesJulier-Artist With my ipad i cant do 300 dpi because says to large, can i put for example 100dpi and then when artwork is done i export to photoshop and increase to 300 dpi is that possible? thank you very much! btw love your work!!

Is the 11’ iPad Pro model a big enough size for procreate?
Definitely!!
