I have been postponing learning Procreate for so long as life is so busy and hard that prevent me from sitting down calmly and study all the features of the software. Thanks for sharing the thorough process of the beautiful drawing. It is peaceful, informative, and encouraging. Hopefully one day I can do some good painting too.
I find your workflow so easy to understand. I’ve tried landscaping before using oil paints traditionally but found they came out mediocre. Using layers is challenging and fun so I’m looking forward to the comparison within Procreate. Thank you for teaching your skills James. Keep on doing what your doing; you are very much appreciated. ✨👩🏾🎨👍🏾
I am so excited to have found you. I have had procreate for calligraphy practice, but intimidated with it and how to use it. I did this project yesterday and it turned out beautiful! (Even though I have the last 10 minutes left to do.)
Such a great tutorial, I love how you explain all the details, would love to see you in Skillshare where we, the students, can share with you our projects and get feedback from you
how do you pick palletes to work with for painting? I love your work and have learned a lot from these tutorials, I just wonder how you know what colors/hex codes to pick for your work?
Well, I put about three hours into this one, and I just feel like it's...okay. I have to decide if I want to spend more time on it, or settle for what I have. I enjoyed the process, though. I really feel like I'm learning a lot from these. Thanks!
I’m following tutorials along on my iPad (8th Gen) with Procreate, and even though I have the same colour palette my colours seem less vivid compared to what you have in your videos and I’m not too sure as to why? I realise this video was a while back but if you have the time to give advice I’d be most grateful. 😊
Love your tutorials! I am very new to procreate, can you tell me how to move the the brush size and opacity from the left to the right side? I know you showed us before but I can't find it. It's awkward on the left. I want to try this landscape but I'm still working on the tree sunset with crows. My pine trees look terrible.
I love this artwork!!!💕 I make ProCreate tutorials too on my channel. If you want to check my channel you make me very happy, because I am a beginner.😇
Wow 😍just finished this one it wasn’t easy at all specially the sky. but I enjoyed it thank you for this beautiful tutorial. I’ll tag you on Instagram.
Great work there! I am just also getting into drawing in iPad ang your videos really are helpful, thank you for that 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Would love to see some classic city vibes in your drawings in the future! Like maybe some of the old streets in Paris or even the canals during sunset, that would be awesome! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dealing with the loss of my amazing Dad. This sure helped me get through a rough day today...kept my mind occupied for a while. Thank you!
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad to have helped provide a little soothing distraction ❤️
It will take a long time for you to “ recover, but creative play will help! Hang in there, and hugs to you.
I love your tutorials, sir! My iPad will arrive next week and I am so excited to apply everything I have learned from you! keep it coming!
Hope you enjoy it when it arrives!
You’re an incredible artist

Thank you, I love your tutorials. One thing you need to be made aware of, is that my cat is a turdburglar. Very important.
I love how you explain every detail! I have been practicing this painting style and your videos have helped me a lot.

Well it’s really about learning techniques and processes, the details can be sorted out over time 😊
No one : who is your best drawer ??
Me : james julier🖤✨
Haha thank you. Will you try this?
You’re too scared?
@@JamesJulier-Artist Yes
I’m loving all of your tutorials!! Do you ever plan on doing one on how to draw Christmas lights?
I’ll have to think about it
Why are you adding new layers? Is there a reasen for this? I am starting to learn drawing on ipad, you videos are perfect for that🙃
It’s easier to go back and adjust elements if something isn’t looking right later on mainly
I’m following tutorials along on my iPad (8th Gen) with Procreate, and even though I have the same colour palette my colours seem less vivid compared to what you have in your videos and I’m not too sure as to why? I realise this video was a while back but if you have the time to give advice I’d be most grateful. 😊
It’s the camera that bumps up the saturation, the colours you have are in fact the colours I used.
Why only 248k subscribers, why , why ? I really like your skill level 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤩🤩👍👍🥰🥰🥰😇
Can you help me. I’m new in here. Why my pencil doesn’t work on procreate, why only ma finger. How to setting thats?
go to settings, go to bluetooth, at my devices, tap apple pencil and its gonna get connected
My medium brush at 3% is much smaller than yours on this video, and much smaller than the soft brush at 3%. Am I missing a setting?
Thanks for explanation of Layers ..Im struggling to understand them
Happy to have helped
How do you decide the color palette for each painting? Can you give a tutorial about it?
I usually use photos that achieve a general lighting/colours similar and copy the colours

Go into preferences with the wrench symbol and switch interface toggle from left to right

are you using a anti glare screen protector ?
Nope
@@JamesJulier-Artist your table is so evenly lit yet no reflection on the glass... can you show us the light setup ?

the blue i got from using code “91a8c5” gave me a very dull gray blue… looks nothing like the sky blue you use. how is that possible?
The codes are correct, my camera changes how things look
