This is still one of my favorite endings to a robot anime. Yeah the middle episodes were a bit dull but the beginning and ending are absolutely phenomenal. I also like Giant Robot remake as well but I think this anime beats it. I don't think an anime can get more epic than "you are the chosen heroes from your timeline, you will fight in eternity against the evil Invader along with all the other incarnations of yourselves". Feels a bit like Planescape Torment. Guren tried to emulate this but I don't think it got to the epicness of this. The Gundam series endings are all kind of a downer (other than G), which I don't mind, but not my personal taste.

Not only that, but several of the officers were aboard an orbital station left over from the Moon Wars. Since Shin Dragon wiped out the attacking Invaders with Getter Beam, chances are that there are still some mecha capable of retrieving them.

I always figured that was the Emperor using the Ryoma from its timeline as an avatar. since Getter Emperor's whole deal is to consume all of existence, it must have at some point turned on and ate its Ryoma and took his voice and form for its own use.

Not necessarily the future, but pretty much an alternate dimension. If you followed the Getter series you'll know that all the Getter pilots are similar yet completely different characters. This is where they all end up in, an eternal battle against aliens. Every single Getter pilot that has fullfilled his duty in their timeline eventually get sent to this dimension to fight along side all the other Getters in their respective universe, in an all out war against the enemies. Its pretty epic.

私もうる覚えですが、この動画の少し前のシーンで、今回のラスボス的なコーウェンとスティンガーが融合した惑星レベルのインベーダーを、真ドラゴンと真ゲッターの放った、惑星サイズのとんでもないゲッタートマホークでぶった斬って、とりあえず地球圏の敵は解決したんですが、そこに生じた次元の狭間には、常にインベーダーと戦い続けているゲッター軍団がいることを知り、戦いに終わりがないことを知った竜馬たちが、若い世代に地球の平穏な未来を託して、その地球の時代にもはや自分たちは不要の存在となった3人が戦いの場へ赴いていくという感じだったと思います。
そして、その間で遭遇した、巨大なゲッター達をモデルにしたロボットが「ゲッター・エンペラー」として超合金魂から発売されたんだったかと思います。
