Dude I got stuck on this ride for an hour and that got so annoying “YOU’RE JOURNEY HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED! YOU WILL BE ASSISTED BY A CAST MEMBER SHORTLY. PLEASE REMAIN PATIENT-“ and it ended up being an hour long break-down. They never came and get us, instead started the ride again and guess what? IT BROKE DOWN FOR ANOTHER FORTY MINUTES. After it started again, we had to ride the rest with the lights on. We actually got to see what was behind the Boulder, which was a white room.
I love how at Disney all the rides have an in-character and in-universe ride breakdown spiel delivered by a character. Just goes to show how much they care about keeping disbelief suspended. Admittedly destroyed by the guy coming on the PA later, but they can't really help that. Someone who's human has to be running the show.
Once, my brother got stuck on this at the part with Indy hanging and the boulder. The ride suddenly stopped and Indy was just hanging lifelessly from the rope. XD
+- ChrisCube - And theres animontronics that dance around you in the darkness, and make erie noises... and then one drops from the ceiling and just hangs staring at you, and the ride stops for 2 minutes, the eyes turn red, and then it retreats into the ceiling, and the ride brings you to the end
Tj Samson lol. I remember when I was a little dumpling child I believed everything that was happening (this was my first time riding and I was very young, barely old enough to ride) and I remember a literally screaming at everyone "WHO LOOKED INTO MARAS EYES" and I was hella dead serious. 😂
One time I got stuck on the rolling ball part before the drop and we sat there for at least 15 mins. It was scary cuz with no warning the ride started up and dropped us during that part in complete darkness. It makes for an interesting story though ;)
You meant the boulder, didn't you? Did you know that actor Harrison Ford did the voice of Robo Indiana Jones for the ride? He wasn't listed in the ride cast list.
@maddiesignsx well I even cut the video shorter when we got stuckcause we were there for so long. I said it even more then that. I was getting annoyed a little haha.
You got stopped right where I've always wanted to get stuck! When I was a kid, we got stopped right at the end of the ride (in that empty tunnel) so we couldn't see anything interesting. We were in there for about 45 minutes, but I always thought getting stuck in any of the other rooms would be the neatest thing ever!!
I remember I was at disney world with my cousin a few years ago on Test Track, on the massive curve OUR CAR broke (seriously the tire flew off) and we were evacuated
I’ve been to Disneyland 6 times, and I got stuck in 2019 on the Indiana Jones Adventure. It wasn’t on the ride but in line. We were stuck watching the safety video and a lady came out and said it was closed for undisclosed reasons so we left.
This happened to me to man, and other break downs, like the boulder not rolling, and the jeep being stuck right when it was pitch black. Ahh, those were the times.
Yes, but the "going in different doors" is an illusion. The ride goes through the same door each time, but the scenery moves to give the effect of variation. The Wikipedia page of the ride has a great .gif of how it works.
@CheezebugerTfromxbox yes it was we were just wished the lights stayed on for the rest of the ride instead of turning off close to the end. TheCoasterViews was like dang i and i felt the same way lol it was a whisper though cause we really dont like alot of talking in our povs lol.
Thanks for the upload. Living in the UK and never having visited a disneyland/world (YET!!) the most adventures stuff I've been on is at Alton Towers. It's fantastic watching all these POV videos - fantastic! Especially cool to see this as we got to see a bit more of the set and how the tracks are layed/work :)
@gdoggy1678 im using the Sony HDR-XR550V Also doing the offride fooyage is that what you have to do cause SFMM on the coasters didnt get mad at me. So if thats the only reason why you want to do offride footage then you should try onride footage. Unless your doing something specific where you want to do offride footage.
The bridge is considered the exact halfway point of the ride. My understanding is that when the ride needs to be evacuated, cast members start at the very end and at the very beginning and unload jeeps one at a time. The people on the bridge are the last to be evacuated if both teams unload at the same speed, so they can go through the entrance or exit depending on who gets to them first.
Broken Glass Videos well it depends on where the ride is. If the ride is at the beginning they would either try to reverse the sub or have to put down a platform. If it was after you go "underwater" you would simply climb out of the top because the sub never goes under the water. When you go past the waterfall, there are always platforms surrounding the sub at that point.
The sub is never truly under water. The place where the driver sits is completely above the water and there is always a place for people to exit. The only place that I can't think of their being an immediate exit it the beginning before entering the cave.
in my opinion, this ride needs a serious refurbishment. It's broken down almost every time i've been on it, and I go on it twice a year. the part after mmra's big cave is dark and seems unfinished, and the only thing to look at is the rat projection in the mist. they should really do more with this ride as it was never truly finished.
It's broken down on me twice, but I had yet to load. Both times we were on the stairs. The first time they got it going again, but the second time the emptied the queue. Anyone that had made it past the entrance got re-ads. That was a lot of re-ads. I've only been evaced from two attractions and that was Winnie The Pooh and Space Mountain. Space was just as we left loading it broke down and we were sent to the left track.
Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Alice & Wonderland, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, and Pirates of the Caribbean have all broken down when I was on them. It's cool because how else are you supposed to take good selfies on the rides?? :P
"Attention my friends im am really sorry but your journey has been interrupted. Please, stay seated in your transport vehicle at all times. We will be assisting you in a moment. I assure you."
@gdoggy1678 will I also have a Sony TX5 which shoots nice 720 P its also waterproof up to 10 ft, drop proof up to 5ft, freeze proof up to -20 degrees , shock proof, and dust proof. that was like 280bucks. it also has goos sound quality cause it doesnt look like its in a waterproof case. it looks like a digital camera though and take 12mp pics. Also there is the Sony TX7 which is the same camera except it isnt water proof and shoots in 1080p not sure if its the same price though.
To be stuck in the ride for that long...that would have been the perfect time for a Mola Ram actor to pop out from outta no where: "Kali Maaaaaa! KALI MAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
its at Disneyland in Anaheim, both rides have the exact same track layout and ride vehicles. the only differences r the story n theming. indiana jones was built 1st in anaheim and dinosaur later in orlando
This ride didn't work too well when my parents and I went on it this year in the Fall which took place in October 2014. Indiana Jones didn't say any other phrases. He moved and looked at us for 15-20 minutes. What was it like when you and TheCoasterViews got stuck in my favorite scene which is the Lava scene?
Yeah.. This ride has always been like this because of how huge of a production it is to load people onto a ride that has quite some heavy programming :l
I'm a 28 year old local that has been going to Disneyland since I was a baby. So far, I have seen Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain break down. Indiana Jones broke down in the SAME exact spot for us lol. Pirates of the Caribbean was broken down for so long that they actually had to walk us out of the ride through one of the scenes to an emergency exit. Space Mountain broke down while we were in line near the windows to the ride so we got to see it with lights on.
I got stuck on Indiana jones when you see Indiana jones near the end. I been also stuck on small world, haunted mansion ( got stopped 3 times in only 5 min. ) , buzz lightyear, pirates and the Caribbean ( It stopped after the drops and we had to go through the ride w/out the music or anything ) , people mover ( Disney world stuck in the dark ) and many other rides...I have bad luck w/ rides lol
Oh ok and right now its under a refurb and what there doing is computer stuff burt some of the vehicles are going to be replaces with air hydraulics and there going to test them out too see if they work better but it will eliminate the need to refill them with hydraulic fluid.
There was two times in the last 4 years that I went to Disney where this ride broke down, once the bolder was retracting so no bolder just going down, and the other time was with the bugs, the car didn't make it entirely up the hill so it rolled back a little and just went on
There is only one pathway, one door, and one hallway with Mara at the end. The car always follows the exact same path. The room with the three doors is a facade, so the entire thing shifts left, right, or center to make it appear that you're going through a different door. The lighting and audio changes in the following room to correlate to the door "chosen." :)
@deathbyillusion If thats the case with SFMM then i would love to try out some on ride footage. I just need to find a Point and Shoot camera that shoots nice 720p under 200 dollars for my experiments. :)
@gdoggy1678 You also can get a gopro like I have and it mounts to your chest if you get the chest mount strap. it can also be waterproof also. that isnt too expensive ether.
he only two rides that broke down on me were the haunted mansion (i would get stuck in Ldy Liota's seance room) and the log ride once or twice. mostly the haunted mansion.
In the very beginning of Indy, the door to your left is Chamber of Time, the middle door is Chamber of Riches, and the door to your right it the Chamber of Youth.
This isn't Disney, but I got stuck at the end of Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Hollywood at the part after you're finished riding backwards and just before you get back to the loading station, and it was dark other than the strobe lights and fog. We were sitting there for like 10 minutes in the dark in pitch black darkness, and being the anxiety riddled wimp that I am, I started freaking out cause it was dark and I was stuck. The combination of not being able to get up and move and not being able to see in front of my face REALLY off my anxiety. That 10 minutes felt like a whole damn hour for me. Mostly everyone on board of the ride vehicle we were on pulled out their phones and put on their flashlights, and that made me feel a bit better. After my anxiety calmed down,it was kinda cool to explore the area with a phone flashlight and see what they are hiding in the pitch black darkness, but it still sucked to be stuck that long. Luckily we were right by the station so it wasn't as bad as if we were being launched either the first time after the mummy's spiel, or after the during launch and having to suddenly halt.
Neither am I. The room only changes scenery when you "travel" through the three different doors. The track remains the same. The three "doors" rotate to simulate the feeling of actually turning to different doors.
I like how it just completely stopped functioning and then started back up but completely without the proper music or anything. Like just silent and with the lights on
Ya I remember once I was on this ride and it broke down right where Indie was climbing the rope and where the giant boulder was supposed to come rolling out so we were anticipating it for like 20 mins
One time me and my Nana were at disney world and I was 7 so we were riding the haunted mansion and it was on the grave yard and all of a sudden it stopped. Now when I was 7 I was scared of ghost so I was terrified. Then someone had to get us of the ride. Now by that time I was shaking in fear and almost crying. So the man was dressed up as a ghost for the theme like every employe was. Ao I thought he was a ghost and I screamed at the top of my lungs "HELP THE GHOST CAME TO KILL ME" then I realized it was just the guy tring to get us of. I was so embarrassed. Then I never spoke of that again intill now.
Strange how the whole ride itself stops when they happens though. If I remember correctly, Dinosaur in WDW has the same type of ride vehicle, and one time when we rode it, it didn't move around and jostle us, it just followed the track like a normal car would (and frankly it was quite boring without it lol). When we finished the ride they pulled us off to the side and had us ride it again, because they said the hydraulic fluid was empty in our car, so it malfunctioned.
One time when i rode this, one of the station platforms broke down or something and the ride ended up getting seriously clogged. We had to wait 30 seconds before going through every event
They are differently themed: see into the future, immense wealth, and fountain of youth. The difference in the ride is different lighting effect and Indy saying throughout.
I got stuck on it right before you go under the boulder. Best part, my friends and I did the single riders pass to get on faster, so we all got separated when this happened. It made for a good story. :)
one time i got stuck on the disney world version of this ride on the part where you go over the bridge. it broke down and the bridge kept swaying. then the ride started back up and it scared all of us 😂
There was one time I went to Disneyland and everytime my family and I were about to get on the ride, it would break down or they'd close it for maintenance. When we were finally able to get on it after the 4th try, the ride stopped halfway because someone lost their purse so we had to evacuate the ride. :(
@Declan hoff man that's cool, we were standing in line for Pirates of the carribean and it broke down but we didn't get any fast pass ticket to another ride of our choice, they should have gave us something, they didn't even let us know it was the people in front of that told us then we ask a cast member and he said he THOUGHT it was broke down but wasn't sure so we walked off.
I remembered one time we were lining up to ride it but we had to leave cause of the breakdown. But lucky they gave us tickets to go on fast pass. And I remember another time I went there, it was closed because of a lighting problem. :( the ride mostly breaks down because it's old but it's really fun! :)
might have been on this breakdown. I remember when I was younger this happened and we were there for about 45 minutes until they turned the lights on in the hall of bugs. Funny how bad some of the effects look in the light
Sallah: "Your Journey Has Been Interrupted! You Will Be Assisted Shortly!"
Mara: "NOW'S MY CHANCE!"
-Shoots Laser At Jeep-
Random Guy: "OH MY GOD!"
Aidan Morales lol
Ha Ha Ha LOL
Aidan Morales Yep that what I would do!
Yall thanks?
Dude I got stuck on this ride for an hour and that got so annoying “YOU’RE JOURNEY HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED! YOU WILL BE ASSISTED BY A CAST MEMBER SHORTLY. +Mason White Yeah they do don't they!
+Deathbyillusion I was in line when some kid threw up all over Mission: Space at Disneyworld. They called it a cryonic coolant spill.
+Garrett O'Donnell LOL SO FUNNY 😆😃😂
+Garrett O'Donnell too funny!
Garrett O'Donnell Haha! I get it! Mission Space, Space! XD
Once, my brother got stuck on this at the part with Indy hanging and the boulder. The ride suddenly stopped and Indy was just hanging lifelessly from the rope. XD
+Benamax XDD
Omg me too!! When they turned on the lights, me and my mom got to see the track the rock spins on. It was cool!
The ride broke down right after we dropped from that scene for me once and we were just chilling in the pitch dark for the longest time!
Lol that one person in the backround at 2:22 in the backround. "OH MY GOD!!!!!" *starts sobbing* XD
This just gave me a great idea for a game... A dark ride breaks down and you go into the depths of the ride...
+- ChrisCube - YES
Melissa Gonzalez Alright. I'm on it. :)
:D!!
+- ChrisCube - And theres animontronics that dance around you in the darkness, and make erie noises... and then one drops from the ceiling and just hangs staring at you, and the ride stops for 2 minutes, the eyes turn red, and then it retreats into the ceiling, and the ride brings you to the end
that would be cool XD
The main reason they got stuck, is because they all looked to Mara's Eyes. Lol
Tj Samson lol. I remember when I was a little dumpling child I believed everything that was happening (this was my first time riding and I was very young, barely old enough to ride) and I remember a literally screaming at everyone "WHO LOOKED INTO MARAS EYES" and I was hella dead serious. 😂
Siena H OMG! Hahaha. That's hilarious.
Tj Samson yep lol. My family still makes fun of me for it whenever we go to the park.
70th like
i got stuck on the damn WINNIE THE POOH RIDE once for 2 hours.
+Jade Alexis Now THAT must have been REALLY terrifying...!
Thanks a lot I try to get the quality as I can! Also thanks for watching!
Same here!!! At Disneyland CA
Could things get any worse with dark rides like this one?
They need to refurbish this instead of Splash Mountain and Matterhorn, TWO OF THE FUNNEST RIDES THERE.
Once i got stuck on the same part and i was like "OH MY GOD SELFIE" Oh my lord, Memories from Christmas.
Ha ha if I was stuck on that I would be crying and totally freaking out!
I went on that ride last month, got stuck infront of the ball, I was like "OMFG! MUST TAKE SELFIE!"
Ha ha #kyle greig
@maddiesignsx well I even cut the video shorter when we got stuckcause we were there for so long. I said it even more then that. I was getting annoyed a little haha.
"You will be assisted in a moment, I assure you"
...
"OH MAY GAWD!!!!!!"
I broke down where the boulder comes, i got to see the boulder roll itself back into place, it was pretty cool
love the guy that says "oh my god!" at 02:13
You got stopped right where I've always wanted to get stuck! When I was a kid, we got stopped right at the end of the ride (in that empty tunnel) so we couldn't see anything interesting. We were in there for about 45 minutes, but I always thought getting stuck in any of the other rooms would be the neatest thing ever!!
Yep we hangout when I visit Cali. Its nice to hang with someone that likes to do the same stuff as you.
Havent had that yet. I want to be on Space Mount when it breaks down so that I can ride and film it with the lights on.
I remember I was at disney world with my cousin a few years ago on Test Track, on the massive curve OUR CAR broke (seriously the tire flew off) and we were evacuated
yeah right
I’ve been to Disneyland 6 times, and I got stuck in 2019 on the Indiana Jones Adventure. It wasn’t on the ride but in line. We were stuck watching the safety video and a lady came out and said it was closed for undisclosed reasons so we left.
One train didn’t look into the eyes so the ride didn’t know what to do and gave up
This happened to me to man, and other break downs, like the boulder not rolling, and the jeep being stuck right when it was pitch black. Ahh, those were the times.
@x702kiddx he added it we didnt get sound til almost the end it kept cutting in and out.
Yes, but the "going in different doors" is an illusion. The ride goes through the same door each time, but the scenery moves to give the effect of variation.
The Wikipedia page of the ride has a great .gif of how it works.
thats so awesome! i love ride breakdowns and other weird happenings!

The only ride I got stuck on was Monsters Inc, getting stuck literally in the middle of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye sounds amazing!
I'm very glad you returned this video! thank you very much!!
Only time I got stuck on a ride at Disneyland, it was the Haunted Manson.
That ride breaks down all the time
+issac flores XD Ikr
I don't know why every time I go it breaks down
XD
I got stuck on little mermaid XD Just sitting thier watching Eric and Ariel look into each eyes for 5 min. XD

Agreed. Apparently from someone. The software is still running on like windows 95
I hope they never take this ride down. It's awesome! Otherwise Disneyland would never be the same without it ):
I didn't know you hung out with TheCoasterViews! This makes me very happy!
Must be extra scary when there's no lights and you can't see anything. I remember freaking out on this ride as a kid, and the lights were on then!

Im a socal resident and I have an annual pass. And this ride always breaks down.
Been on that ride a lot. Has never broken down. But I can see why it does because it jerks a lot and is fast and stuff
***** then you died due to the boulder killing you.
The Boulder is foam so if anything ever happened it wouldn't kill anyone no final destonation
+The Golden Gamer is the Mara? When there have intro like saw the face! I wish when I ride Indiana jones it could break down!
Yeesss so am i and this if my favorite ride so it sucks that a brakes down a lot
Hey what camera are you using? You and coasterviews have inspired me to do some Off ride footage at SFMM on the 23rd. Im thinking of a s6000 or sd1400
@BuglersHoliday yea it was dark at first but then the emergency lights started to brighten up.
I got stuck on Indiana jones when you see Indiana jones near the end. not really sure but its probably like how tains on tracks switch and it flips to the other side.
It broke when I was on it, too. We got stuck with the Indy on a rope animatronic straight above us for a few minutes.
I’ve been on space mountain when it broke down, turned on all the lights, wasn’t so magical but we go to go twice which was cool
@deathbyillusion If thats the case with SFMM then i would love to try out some on ride footage. I just need to find a Point and Shoot camera that shoots nice 720p under 200 dollars for my experiments. :)
Half expected the rollercoaster tycoon beeping saying "this ride has broken down." lol
@gdoggy1678 You also can get a gopro like I have and it mounts to your chest if you get the chest mount strap. it can also be waterproof also. that isnt too expensive ether.

a camera that has a night vision in it.

we got stuck on this ride to but it stopped right when the boulder was coming towards us. my little sister was freaking out
I used to love getting stuck on rides, especially when it was the Haunted Mansion..
@PirateGurl121 you probably exit where the castmember comes up but I am not for sure cause I didnt have to evacuate from the ride nor have I ever..
They said translate "Good image quality!"
I like this guy he turned on and off the night vision and tried his best to keep the camera still 10/10 for hi,
I got stuck on it right before you go under the boulder. Best part, my friends and I did the single riders pass to get on faster, so we all got separated when this happened. It made for a good story. :)
one time i got stuck on the disney world version of this ride on the part where you go over the bridge. it broke down and the bridge kept swaying. then the ride started back up and it scared all of us 😂
Imagine being stuck in there during a severe earthquake???
I feel like no one would know
That happened to me at universal studios in Jurassic park. We were at the drop when it stopped!!
I heard someone yell, "OH MY GOD!" :D
There was one time I went to Disneyland and everytime my family and I were about to get on the ride, it would break down or they'd close it for maintenance. When we were finally able to get on it after the 4th try, the ride stopped halfway because someone lost their purse so we had to evacuate the ride. :(
That sounds like the worst day ever...did it get better?
been broke down on that one..and grizzly river run.. and space mountain( that was the coolest, with the lights on!) a couple times!
Lucky for lights on for Space Mountain.
My friend got stuck on space mantin all by himself
I've always wanted to be evacuated or stuck on a ride. The closest I've gotten is Haunted Mansion when it stops for the handicap!
I love the guy who said "Where's Indiana Jones?" at about 5:10
about a month ago i went to get on that ride, got buckled in to where you cant get out, one of the cars had broken down.
i remember i got stuck on the ride for like twenty minutes and they gave us all fast passes so we could come back and enjoy it the right way
"Next time, you wear blindfolds, okay?" Uh no, then I wouldn't be able to see all the worklights on!
Wow! Two coaster video greats!
might have been on this breakdown. I remember when I was younger this happened and we were there for about 45 minutes until they turned the lights on in the hall of bugs. Funny how bad some of the effects look in the light
When I went on this ride i cried and i was messed up for weeks. I can't imagine getting stuck on it
@Perrygallo I do see what your talking about?
ive been on it when space mt broke and i saw it its very complex :P
