    On the dodge website, it says the "black-noise" wheels are the Y-shaped ones? The ones that are specific to the blacktop package, which are not these ones. But maybe this is the GT thats why? but the GT also has the option for those Y-shaped spoke wheels, so you saying these are the Black noise wheels makes me nervous that I ordered the wrong wheels for my R/T lol. So either Dodge fucked up their online optioning, or you are wrong. Or maybe they changed something early 2021? But I really hope you are wrong about these wheels because I don't want these ones. lol

      Thank you for pointing that out. I believe you're right and I stand corrected. These are not the black noise wheels. These are the standard ones, I believe. Even though the car does have the black top package (according to the delivery sheet) which should've included the Black Noise wheels 🤷‍♂️.

    Not every person on the road needs the fastest car on the road. I own a challenger GT and love it. The V6 has plenty of power and the fact that I can drive my 40k investment year round in a snowy climate is way more important than bragging about how much power I have under the hood. It really bugs me that people try and put down this car. Trust me, the car is absolutely enjoyable and that is what matters most.

    I think you were simultaneously the perfect person and wrong person to review this car. The GT wasn't really geared towards those who are the muscle enthusiasts, those people all went for the proper Challenger in the V8 configs like the 392, Scat's and beyond. If you get into a GT and expect it to be like the 392 your buddy has, you're just gearing yourself for disappointment. The GT is more for those who want that look, maybe even relive their early 20s a little. Those slightly older folk who want a good looking cruiser without tearing their arms off and don't mind dropping fifty large on the matter. I say this as an 80s kid who just bought a GT with this in mind.

    • @themockalove
      @themockalove  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of that is fair. Dodge clearly has a huge audience and are doing very well in challenger sales. I just didn't like it personally and I do still believe that it is overpriced for what it is. But ultimately, they're charging what people are willing to pay for it. In the end, it is a great looking cruiser boat that is comfortable and has enough punch for daily driving all year round.

Definitely did not want to throw down the dinero on gas for a V8 (I just retired a 2012 Civic with over 200k miles and enjoyed the fuel economy). Planning on acquiring some aftermarket exhaust and rims for it... love the indigo blue color! Saying this as a 24 year old.

    The V6 Challenger is a very good street car. I have a 2020 GT AWD, I have put wider tires all the way around, Pirelli 255/50/19. I also bought another ECM and loaded a E85 tune extra 40hp 40tq to the wheels . You can also remove 2 fuses from the fuse box and make it a rear wheel drive car only. As far as speed 5.6 seconds 0-60 according to the dash. Also for what it's worth all the 0-60 Numbers you hear about are vehicles that are at the track.

      As a Scatpack Challenger and an SRT-10 owner, I can vouch for the V6 in saying that a lot of what the guy in this review is going on about is over exaggerated. No the Pentastar isn’t the fastest in the line-up but its not nearly as bad as what is being portrayed.
      Also, the review is mainly knocks on the Challenger in general, the back-up camera, the window switches only going auto one way, the idea that the 20’s look too small for the car, etc. He completely glossed over what the purpose of what this package (GT) is about.

    This car is as fast as MANY 1960 small block muscle cars of the 1960's. Quarter mile times 14.5 @93 MPH was considered pretty respectable and this IS what this car is capable of. So your statement of hardly being able to get out of its way is VERY MISTAKEN. I am an old dragracer from the late 60's and early 70's and this car is anything but slow. Do your research on the muscle cars of the 1960's so you have an understanding of what fast was.

    • @themockalove
      @themockalove  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're not wrong. There are lots of comparisons of modern (even the Corolla, CRV and some vans) cars and old performance cars. Generally, cars of today are much quicker than a few decades ago, which can be quite comical when talking about a Dodge Caravan vs a 70s muscle car. But the standards of speed also changed dramatically. And 6 seconds 0-100 on a "performance" car is hardly impressive today. But I also bet that 1960s 6 seconds felt far more exciting than today's 6 seconds 😏

    Yes - comfortable cruiser, not a true muscle car. All year round package, if this is more important for someone. Yes, I miss the V8 rumble and low-end torque, but have a stylish cruiser, that is not boring to drive, does well on slippery roads (AWD is good), and I can enjoy the car daily - even from mid-European perspective.

    Sounds less like a GT review and more like a Challenger knock. Also what car has a the ideal back-up camera? I’ve driven many, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, GM, Ford, Tesla, Toyota, etc and TBH I don’t know what you’re talking about there. You aren’t honestly expecting 4k 60fps out of something used as a loose reference for about 10 seconds to help make sure you don’t run into something, right?

    • @themockalove
      @themockalove  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two major problems with the Challenger GT.
      1) Price: This is almost $50k CAD. Paying that kind of money to feel like you're in a rental car is wild to me. For that money, there is better value unless you're hell bent on having a challenger without the performance chops or sound.
      2) The R/T exists within a couple grand from the GT.
      It's not a shitbox by any means. As I mentioned in the video, I enjoyed driving it. It was comfortable, cushy, spacious, and it looks good. But the quality of the interior screamed rental car, and it wasn't exciting or inspiring to drive in any way. From where I'm sitting, it's not very good at any particular thing, but looking like challenger. It's okay at everything, but there are more practical cars for the money, far more exciting performance cars for the money (Elantra N, Type R, Veloster N, Golf R, 370Z, GR86, Miata, and again, Challenger R/T).
      Long story short, if you want a challenger but doesn't care about V8 sound and performance and need AWD, buy it. Otherwise, it won't be particularly satisfying for long.

    Generally to correct the tail light fitment you can adjust the rubber stoppers that the trunk rests on. A lot of those stoppers have multiple notches for different heights, and if they don't you can always grab an aftermarket set of adjustable height ones from a parts store.
    Same goes for hood alignment with aftermarket parts/scoops or just after age. I've had to raise or lower the stoppers on a few cars I've added or removed parts on so the panels realign, not sure if the Challenger has it though as I don't own one.

    • @RenegadeRukus
      @RenegadeRukus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The extra weight of added parts generally compress the rubber more than base models, so the spoiler may been adding just enough weight to make it out of alignment.
      ...Or it could be shoddy work on that area, who knows!

    Imagine that there are countries with snow and ice during winter. Imagine that there are countries with curvy roads. Imagine that there are countries with roads in hills.
    Maybe big surprise for many people, but world is much much bigger and much more diverse than California. Lot of people need car only during winter and like this type of car. Simple. But not for everybody.
    You probably don't know, what does it mean GT. It is gran turismo, traveling comfortably the long distances. It is not about holding the steering wheel several hundreds meters straight.
    PS: For me is much surprisingly when somebody says "welcome back" when I was here never before ;)
    PS2: The build and material quality is american standard. I agree. If it would be Audi Challenger, it would look surely better.
    PS3: I like the GT, I will test it and probably buy, before EU will ban it.

    • @themockalove
      @themockalove  ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate the comment. Couple things though:
      - You are watching a Canadian channel, so I am very familiar with snow, dirt, bad roads, etc 😄
      - I don't believe I called it a bad car or that it does not have application, per se. However, for the price, there are better options out there, and I think Challenger is best had RWD and with a V8. If not, I would suggest getting a different (better) AWD car altogether. But there is clearly enough market and demand there for Dodge to keep making it. So there's that.
      The video is an opinion piece, but ultimately it is everyone's individual decision of what to purchase and how to enjoy their hard-earned cash.

      It would be a boring world if everyone shared the same opinion. They are quite popular in Toronto area. I see them often because of AWD and winters that we have here.

      The V6 isn't a good value. Go for R/T or higher.

      @themockalove the beautiful muscular Challenger V6 is a good cruiser on weekends with buddies plus it dont eat lots of gas....no one said it was a super fast car 😀

    lol Tesla quality care are junk and if your In an accident in that thing your donnee seen enough of them in slight fender benders here and they squash very easy

    • @themockalove

      They squash to protect the passengers. Teslas actually have excellent safety ratings

    • @themockalove

      That's exactly the point of crumple zones, to ensure the car takes more of the impact rather than the passengers

    I want to jump off a cliff for selling my Camaro 2SS but I am never buying a non-v8 American muscle car. If you can’t afford a V8, just forget it altogether lol

      Strongly agreed. Don't think like that either. You saved your financial situation by selling that huge financial liability that was draining your wallet month after month. You'll be happy you did it 5 years from now

      If they made the V8 models in AWD it would be great. But only the V6 has the AWD option, and for someone who lives in Canada, that's a much better option for winter driving on slick roads

      @@Rednax_99 agreed but the charger in 2011 had a 5.7l Hemi AWD rt I almost purchased one but wanted something newer than 2011 so I got a 2018 charger gt plus no regrets love the AWD sometimes I wish I snagged the 2011 but im happy
