Ethan, the sawdust issue you’re having might be termites. You’ll never see them but check for very small pinholes in the wood in that area of your camper.
suggestion: use a rubber tire tube for your space between the truck and camper, plastic will pop and rubber will have some flex and give, also consider a ceramic electric heater, they are very small and would heat that space very well without the dust and constant clean up involved with a small wood stove or you can consider a small pellet stove
Wow, ur home seem small outside but looks n feels spacious inside n well equipped, thou i find it amusing where u keep ur shirt, guess u dont hv many shirts. Thanx for sharing ur home with us.
Thank you, Ethan, you are such a charming young man, it's a real pleasure to watch your content. Anyone who looks after their dog as well as you do gets a double thumbs up from me also.😊
Hi Ethan. I'm old and have traveled.... some. I'm impressed with your travels, and how smart and sensible and articulate you are. You're a credit to your parents
Just a regular camper and nothing too exciting but for some reason I watched the whole video. I can tell you are proud of it and you enjoy it. Be safe, have fun.
I love how you describe all the little things and keep it short and simple, you dont go into a 30 minute rant to discuss one item/issues. Have binge watching your videos and loving them!
I always love seeing your independent nature and willingness to do what you need to in order to get by. You don’t need to be in the lap of luxury and sometimes doing things yourself makes you appreciate what you have all the more. Keep up the adventurous life you have and be safe. Maybe go south for the winter so it doesn’t get so cold at night. Florida is beautiful this time of year!
A few ideas ..use a shower curtain organizer, for the kitchen nesting bowls, and use a cutting board to cover up your stove top when it's not in use.. you'll instantly have more working and serving space in your kitchenette.
Wow! You've made this van livable for you and Peaches and at the same time keeping your possessions to a minimum. Congratulations on making it all work.
Hi Ethan, I like your truck camper. For those deep cabinets you could install some pull out trays to easily access what you store. The sawdust most probably the result of some type of insects like carpenter ants, carpenter bees, or powder dust beetles. All the best and safe travels to you and peaches !
I loooove!!! It’s a fantastic set up! I’m currently working on converting an 89 Chevy g20 and you gave me some ideas on storage! Can’t wait to follow along on your adventures and hopefully we can cross paths one day 😁
Your "strainer" is actually a steamer. Put a small amount of water in a sauce pan, insert the steamer w/ vegies & a lid. Now it's a dual use device! Steamed broccoli or carrots works especially well. No need for a dedicated steamer pan or appliance. Cheers
Thanks Ethan that was great, listening to you it’s clear you put a lot of thought into the design and that you have lots of experience. Best wishes for happy travels
Great tour and content. You are well spoken without the pitfalls of "like or uhm". Perhaps you are using British English, if so apologies, but the metal finned "strainer" is a steamer device that sits over boiling water to steam vegetables etc. Great energy and speaking voice.
Thanks for the tour, Ethan. It's incredible how much one can store when the space is utilized efficiently. While your cupboards may not be standard sizes you may still be able to find sliding wire baskets to install, or something similar. Always a pleasure to see you! Happy trails!
If you have woodwork above your game where you are seeing the sawdust stuff, keep a watch for termites or carpenter ants. Love your videos Ethan. Keep doing what your doing.
If you could install pull out shelves in each deep cubbie then you could store much more, It would need something so when yopu pulled it out everything wont dump out. Just a thought. good luck! James
Ethan, congratulations on learning how to live with all the really nice features of your 'new' home! You've shown great intelligence in both adapting to a nomad lifestyle and producing fascinating content that is quite different than the typical travel logs that only feature typical tourist sites! Best of luck and keep on truckin/touring!
Nice setup. I bought a Palomino slide-in camper to have accommodations when I haul classic cars to the car shows. My partner and I recently took the Ford f-250 with Palomino camper with no trailer cross-country and quickly discovered how easy it is to drive in traffic and park in regular parking spaces. We did stay some nights in paid campgrounds but we also stayed at truck stops, rest stops, casinos for free to save money. I know how much you appreciate the full bathroom. My camper has a full bathroom which takes camping from roughing it to very comfortable. Happy travels Ethan!
Ethan, great to see you again. I have a couple ideas or thoughts for you. As too the small wood dust check above your PlayStation it might be bugs in the wood eating the wood or it could be sawdust left behind a panel that settles out through a crack. Wood stoves are great as propane really adds up quick but the installation in a camper can be problematic. Try a diesel heater, great heat and cheaper than propane. Love you videos bud. Best of luck.
Particle board is commonly used in camper cabinets and as it ages, it can drop some of those... particles. I'm thinking a small pellet stove would be ideal, but you're correct: insulation/ducting would be a bear!
You’ve put so much thought into your living space, from practical considerations to matters of comfort. I would urge you to think carefully about a wood stove. They give off a lot of immediate heat, but refueling an existing fire would invariably spill smoke inside, something that can be hard to control. That said, the warmth and ambience from a fire is so nice.
You need slide out drawers for the kitchen cabinet so you can easily access things and make use of the depth. Enjoy the videos and watching your adventures! Ps Peaches is adorable
use a bath mat to make the roof access safe. Just toss it over the edge. And buy a multimeter and learn to do a continuity test for your solar cables. It is pretty easy.
Thanks for another great and engaging video! Your positivity about life is awesome. One day you should take us "shopping" at RV dealerships to pick out the ideal camper van and accessories that you would now choose based on your traveling experiences. Take care and safe travels my friend!
Ethan, if you ever get up to New Hampshire, let me know and I can fix your radio issues. I'm an electronic systems contractor with decades of experience in a wide variety of systems, including solar. I'll even teach you some basic electrical theory and troubleshooting methods. Really interested in the way you've outfitted your camper. I've been toying with getting one when I retire so I can poke around the US for a few years. Have fun, stay safe! (BTW, you didn't mention a Carbon Monoxide detector. If you don't have one, run to the nearest hardware store and get a battery operated one. If your furnace or hot water heater fail and start allowing fumes into the living space, you can be dead before you realize what's happening.)
I think your setup is fabulous. It's so freeing to be able to live wherever you want. Looks like you have everything you need, and you are very organized. I enjoyed your video very much.
Honestly that's the nicest cleanest most mobile camping rig I've ever seen. Heated blankets are very cheap and is a low energy consumption heating option for your body. Could be the most efficient heat source other than maybe peaches rump. 😊 One of coolest thing about watching your videos is seeing your drive and passion to make your life as free as possible without anything holding you back. It's also nice to see such an independent and a strong-willed young man paving his way the way you do so fearlessly. Your content is getting better and better even if it seems more ordinary than traveling abroad. It's more about you which is really cool. 😊
You are, what I call, one smart cookie! The things you’ve thought of & places to put things away, well, as I said, you’re one smart cookie! Please take care of yourself, especially when on the road!
Hey Ethan, great video! I looked at some of the other comments but didn't see anything regarding the little wood dust particles your finding that lead you to believe your camper may be haunted. I think you may have TERMITES!! They leave the same type of dust that you're finding and can destroy your home. Check into getting a pest control service to find out for sure. I love watching your videos. You're living the dream that I'm too old to live anymore....LOL. Take care and be sure to STAY SAFE!! (Chris)
You are absolutely correct. “Flying Termites” they love to fly into an open window attracted to light. They will destroy anything made of wood. Find the Queen 👸🏼 drill a hole spray something non toxic. I use rubbing alcohol. 🥃 70 % tap around poke around see where the wood is hollow. The nest 🪹 is close to the droppings.
Yeah I had a camper just like that one time that I hang out and went camping in and stuff now I have a motorhome you are just such a gorgeous young man
Hi Ethan ❤ your camper and thoughtful layout. You are well organised and a place for everything without clutter. If you don’t use the stove then perhaps it could be replaced with small microwave as you have good solar power. I like that you can detach the vehicle from the body if needed. Well done 👍👍❤️
Hello there Recently found your channel watched your videos out of order... Was worried that you didnt have "protection" but now seen this video i am somewhat revived you have a weapons cabinet Really enjoy your videos keep up the great work
Very well organized, I enjoyed the tour. I hope you're staying safe as you travel and I look forward to seeing more content from you as you move around. Big hugs!
I would cycle water while soaping up and washing my self for how ever long I need to then pull the plug and totally rinse of with the fresh uncycled water. Each to his own I guess. Nice camper my son. Love your videos.
Long showers are a must….just sayin. As for the one cabinet you don’t know what to do with, can goods work well in there because you can grab the stuff in the front and work your way to the back as needed. Definitely a nice camper to live in!❤❤
At 10:35 WINDOW. I recall seeing an inflatable donut made to go between the cab of your truck and the camper to keep the window sealed. They are out there just keep an eye out for one.
Lol I forgot the most important comment I wanted to tell you, for the gap in-between your camper and truck windows, don't use a pool raft they're thin but good idea, but use a big inner tube from a truck tire like on a semi truck. They're big and durable and will definitely last longer than a pool raft. Just inflate it semi hard, enough to keep it in place and absorb the twisting of the truck cab and box in the rear, and you'll be good.. Peaches will never escape and you won't have to worry!
Hey Ethen that saw dust can be from a wood warm that appear in old dry wood. Take a look abwe and see if there is a small hole in the wood. If there is, there are several deferent treatments that you can use and stop them from destroying your home. BTW you are amazing!
You have a nice cozy home. Stop being so critical of your home. It's yours! Be grateful. I wish I had a home like this. One day I will so i can travel the lower 48. Really glad I stumbled onto your channel. Didn't realize you had a ton of videos. At first, TH-cam only showed like a dozen tops. So I will be able to keep pre-occupied while being unemployed adult I watch your journeys.
5:11 For deep and narrow cabinets, use a plastic basket, like the one attached to the back of the door at 9:31: So you can use the full size of the shelf all the way to the back. No space lost doing this. Great video by the way of your new cozy home.
Hi Ethan I'm thinking about starting a pickup camper lifestyle too. Do you have any tips about what I should look for in a camper and in a pickup? It's just me, for now. I will probably start with a used set up. Is there anything you would have done differently? Thanks for the videos it's given me an idea I want to see the US.
I found my can of”Revenge Termite &Carpenter killer “ I used to rid a problem I had with them in my house. Spray it into the holes when you find them. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for showing us your home Ethan. I'm getting a pop up truck camper and going traveling. I'm not exactly getting any younger and life is so short, that before you know it it's over. So why not?
The gap between the truck window and the camper can be fixed with an air up donut, be careful with the cheap air up swimming floaties they tend to rupture due to the rubbing of the truck and camper. Have fun be safe!
Ethan, I'm sure you have a First Aid kit, but do you also have a Snake Bite kit? In addition, I'm sure you have a fire extinguisher, but do you also have a fire blanket?
Ethan, you are a very enterprising fellow, well done. One tip on ovens you may not know about, is that a type of microwave oven called an Inverter Microwave uses an internal electrical regulator that provides continuous power at reduced levels. This means that you could park in some sun, set the oven to a 300, or 400 watt setting, and have it run fully from the solar power. This would permit you to cook a chicken for an hour, without depleting the battery. It's quite a unique feature that solves the considerable energy problem of cooking. Also, if running off battery, one could even use a 100 watt setting for smaller cooking jobs. A standard microwave oven pulls near 1500 watts even when it cycles, making it prohibitive to run. You may find this useful to know.
I enjoyed the tour. I didn't read through all of the previous comments, so if something I say is a repeat, I apologize. In regards to the odd shaped cabinet, there are slides available that you could easily install, which would give you complete access, and you could attach some type of strap across it to hold the items in place while you drive. In some of the other areas, I wonder if a cargo net that you normally see installed in the trunk of a car would be of benefit. They're usually long and shallow, probably perfect for the odd shaped areas in the camper. As far as the hatch leading to your penthouse, maybe something like pool noodles could be used to form a removable cover that you could put in place just before you climb out? The concern is whether or not the sharp edges would eventually cut through it. Anyway, you have an amazing setup. I look forward to part 2 where you implement the best of the suggestions from people. Happy trails.
You need a boot. They’re made specifically to seal that opening between the truck and the camper shell. We had them on our trucks when we were kids so we could ride in the bed of my dad’s truck and not freeze . 😊
My parents used to have a rubber “boot” they called it… that filled that space between the truck and the camper to fill the space between the truck and camper windows. It was inflated with air and specifically made for that application
What a wonder vol Camper , love all the little storage rooms and cabinets and it is very practical to! And a , even it is very small, bathroom with a shower, what a progress with the old Camper ! Wish you and Peaches lots off fun and adventures for the future !!!
So many comments about the stuff falling onto your PlayStation. Easy solution to figure out the source: Place your deer camera on top of your PlayStation and let it record whatever is falling on top of it.
The sawdust on the controler could be from woodworm. Do you see little holes that looks like someone drilled in the wood with a tiny drill? It can spread to the entire camper, when you don't treat it. It may be best to consult an expert.
In sailboats we use netting in the drawers to prevent things from flying in bad weather or in your case rough driving, otherwise the only thing I could recommend would be to lighten the load and make sure that most of the weight is as low as possible. Peace and love fellow pilgrim. . .real or imagined.

Yeah, a wood or pellet stove is an epic bad idea.
@ethantravels look up cab to camper seals/covers. I’m sure camper stores and other camper peeps know a solution or have a source for this.
This is something I'll be looking into as well

Love it wish I can hang out with you in your awesome camper
Bro this is so cool. Talk about nice and comfy. Love what you have done with the place. Be safe out there.
You need a boot. They’re made specifically to seal that opening between the truck and the camper shell. We had them on our trucks when we were kids so we could ride in the bed of my dad’s truck and not freeze . 😊
Very cozy and well-organised little camper van. I guess it must cost a bit for the gas though as the wood must weigh a bit (miles to the gallon)
