Love this channel! Emailed Paddy recently about a question about Thailand, since my girlfriend and I just arrived. Such a quick genuine response. Keep it real paddy, your videos are amazing.
Thailand is beautiful! Every place you travel keeps getting better. Thank you for making these videos. I get to feel like I have been a tourist without having to get in an airplane lol. The way you place the camera while driving Dreamy it gives the idea of flying along the roads with their many curves! There are lots of travel videos out there but yours are very interesting and fun.
Yes, it is a great area. was there 3 y ago and visited the wind farm. At 19:16 you see a parking lot in the lower right corner. A lady was growing strawberries in pots on the parking lot at that time, not on the fields as is done today. Maybe it is no longer there, there was a downhill slope on which you could race down in a simple wooden trolley. I did not see it any more in your drone footage. The war memorial was at that time still under construction, but the toilet building was finished already. When you drive along the road into the valley you see many lattice farms on the steep hills. When you go a little higher up there are also coffee farms there where you can sample coffee grown locally. Definitely a great are, windy and cool in winter.
For me, Paddy has become my surrogate "Anthony Bourdain". Every video is absolutely as good as any of Bourdain's shows. My favorite of Bourdain's shows was "The Layover" where Bourdain would spend 48 hours in a city and talk about the culture and the food before heading off to another destination. And that is what Paddy is doing for us in Thailand, and it's magical.
Here is one of Bourdain's famous quotes and I think Paddy can relate:
"If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food. It's a plus for everybody."

Hi Paddy just a footnote to the museum you went to. The M113 personnel carrier was made of aluminium and offered very little protection especially from mines, that's why in Vietnam soldiers would sit on the top rather than inside. Keep up the good work.

Great to see a video of this area. I follow the British birdwatcher, Mike Rose, who lives in this area. I've finally booked the flight for my first visit to Thailand in the fall and hope to visit Mike then. He does day trips to the national parks in this area but I didn't know what else was there until I watched your videos. I've been enjoying your entire series. Thanks for all the great work you do.

Hi Paddy, Sorry Mate, it was not a Tank it's actually an Amoured Personnel Carrier, an M113 US manufactured, it looked melted in places because it's "armour" (made to protect against small arms and shrapnel) was made out of compressed aluminium, it was ok up to 7.62, but .50 AP would go through... a worry when still in use in 1980's.... later versions were slightly up armoured against mines, it was also able to "swim" Fun to drive, it had left and right sticks steering and you pulled on both to slow down or stop... a cummins diesel motor, it was definitely better than walking... ;) Sorry, it wasn't meant to be a "lesson", I served on them in Australia at around the same time, and Leopard AS1 Tanks... ah memories...

I was there in the 70's with the group of students learning the locals hill tribes. There were still shooting around just about every day. Khao kao was not opened to be in yet.
Activities of the communist force on Kao Khor and Phu Hin Rong Kla wound down starting from 2525 BE until virtually quiet on 2527 BE. That's when Kao Khor almost immediately open for tourism.
I like the Mountain Resort, it looks cool. The Dinosaur Park was amazing. 🙏👍👌

Those 3 provinces are undoubtedly good provinces, Phitsanulok, Surat Thani Koh Samui and Phatthalung.
But you are traveling to the Northeast of Thailand where Thai people called ISSAN region, which has many provinces, many beautiful mountains, cool weather in November till February, I believe you will be impressed by many provinces and mountains.. I can't wait to see list of stunning view from your drone, it must be beautiful for sure. Good luck to you and beautiful Dreamy.

Wow, great update on a fantastic looking Provence! Not so sure your overnight stay was actually worth over 8k, then again if you had a great time that's all its about. I actually rode my adventure bike from Hua Hin to Buriram and took the very long way around covering many provinces including Phetchabun. It took me 7 day and I camped out every night bar one when I just got soaked after rain.
Fun fact, the Huey blade has a span of 44" ( forget the width, its been 39 year since i worked on them) The blades turned at 324 RPM, the Lycoming engine turned at 6600 RPM..
I think that the very location was the only place I could see the honey comb aluminum blade structure they placed it for display (a battle damaged one).

Kind of a fun fact, the tips of those blades on the wind Power generators move it about 200+ miles per hour. They look very slow but it’s only because they are so big. Be careful with the drone unless you’re trying to put it in Orbit :)

There is a national park east of Kalisin. Forgot name. But it has one the best dinasaure museum anywhere. Hope you can visit it. But it might scare Dreamy. ( My visit was 10 years ago).
yes beautiful room . I would not hesitate and price seems on par with similar places I Have seen and stayed elsewere. For example My wife and I spend a lot of time at her house when we go to Thailand and that is very basic living we only just had hot water put in the last couple of years. But thats the charm of simple living and cooking outside no air con and just a mozzie to protect at night. However we always bookend our trip by staying somewhere really nice at begining and end of our time in Khon Kaen. Simply put $260 would get us a pretty ordinary hotel in Melbourne Australia . But in Thailand we can get a hotel suite for that and a very nice one. Absolutley top video. I really want to see that Dino park and that temple. We are temple junkies and yet to be templed out.

At the memorial to the war with the communists it used to be a military post still in the 90's the soldiers made the best coffee in Thailand. It has been developed a lot since my last visit.
A fire base ,to be specific. Best location to shell around.

Likely not. The northern border had its story more involving Thai-Burma border dispute ,armed conflict between Burma and the minorities and war against drug than with the communists.

@@User5467h-4etic He did Kanchanaburi partialy around 4 month ago but then covid wave hit Thailand at that time, he retreated to Koh samui. He said he will comeback to Kanchanaburi again to complete whole province.
I’ve really enjoyed these videos, although I’d like to see a bit more super local food, but your stomach seems to be me much less adventurous than you are. I’m moving to Thailand soon. Will be living in rural Phitsanulok. Can’t wait to finally move to Thailand after 40 years of only ever visiting there.

Bus in Bangkok-lomsak city
Fly to Phitsanulok airport and rent a car or a motorcycle, 2 hrs drive from there. Additionally, you need personal transportation to travel around Kao Koh because it is really inadequate public transportation there.

My fiancee is living in phetchabun, her family home. I'm flying at the beginning of July, and we will eventually be getting married after things did not work out in February. Then two month's in the UK for our honeymoon if the visa gets approved. Then unfortunately pim has too return to Thailand because she's not yet passed the English talking exams

That’s not a tank. It’s an armored personnel carrier aka: rolling barbecue. They burnt easy. I served with the Thai army for six months in a war
