I would leave it open and make a Coffee table! I'd use the glass hangner for spécial cups. The Coffee could go in the hole, and all u need for a good coffee !
I think it was a blessing that you made the "whoopsie" because the stencil just elevates this piece so much! Its such a nice surprise when you open it! ❤
I love that we both had sewing cabinets. I love how you hung the panels to spray the whole thing in one go, I'll be trying that! Love the whoopsie fix up too. Love it all! Well done and thank you for the challenge xo
Such a creative repurposing! Amazing furniture salvation! Lovely color! Your small flaw led to the application of this awesome stencil! Wonderful result! Thanks so much for sharing
So take a bottle, open it, pour a glass... lol Sometimes that's EXACTLY what we all need in our workshops to help get through some pieces. This turned out so slick, Sab. That happy accident where you used the stencil? Clever concealing and finished this off perfectly! Woo hoo for OOAK!
This is gorgeous!! I must admit that at first I cringed when you disassembled this vintage sewing machine cabinet!! With a knee contro!!! I also love sewing and quilting so I follow vintage sewing machines and collectors. In addition to furniture painting and cookie decorating! I digress! You did a fabulous job with this transformation. I would bet that you'll get custom orders for these! And good luck on the challenge! Great video too 👍👍
😮😮😮OMG! You had me when you opened the lid and I saw it was sewing machine cabinet. ARE YOU KIDDING!?! You’re a GENIUS! Selling my house tomorrow so I can move & be your grasshopper… or your agent! Love this process & have complete joy watching you. Thank you! ❤❤❤
Wow Sabrina!!! I love the repurpose & the flip!! & for free!!! Turned out so Gorgeous!! Who knew brass & gold are back with these new blues & greens?!! I always loved the gold & brass!! Was always like sun in my home on a cloudy day!!!🧡😄🧡💫
I love this challenge, such a wonderful initiative that brings out creativity while keeping landfills less full. Brilliant repurposing of the sewing cabinet!!! ❤
A few years back I picked up a tall 'Amish'-style secretary (complete with a drop-down section) at a thrift shop that I believe was re-purposed from a sewing cabinet. The place I was living in at the time had a small bathroom with no storage. Because this secretary was more vertical than horizontal, it fit perfectly along the one blank wall; with room enough for my cat's litterbox underneath and the bathroom door to open all the way. In my opinion, thinking "outside the box" to re-purpose the seemingly un-useful is always a win!☺
Beautiful! I really enjoy hearing your descriptions of the process you are doing and why you choose a certain method. The gold leaves are so nice and you matched them so well! This piece was truly a spectacular "Sab Rehab"!!
i love the vision you had for this piece! I usually use the wood bondo, do you think there is any difference between using regular bondo vs the wood bondo? I just needed to purchase a new container and its been a long time, but the price has gone up quite a bit since the last time. I did notice the regular bondo was a bit less than the wood bondo but being as i have only ever used the wood bondo i wasnt sure if it would make a difference. What is your opinion on it? i love the color you picked! such a fun color! the gold just pops over top of it!! what a huge transformation on this piece!!
I use the Bondo woodfiller typically because it is made for furniture. Regular Bondo isn't so I am unsure if the products in it are safe to be inside someone's home.
@@SabsRehabs ahhh I see, i just checked your description to see what brand you use, I guess I assumed it was normal bondo since the hardener color is different than the brand i use.. thank you for clarification Sabrina!! :) 😀
Omg! I was having some flash backs on this one, did a very similar piece into a craft cart. You are exactly right! What a journey. What a creative repurpose, love the colors you used. Well done sab.
I've seen a guy use screws as his way of helping the tape stay in place. Place screws along the part you're wanting to add, and leave them sticking out a bit as an anchor for the bondo to attach to. Then put tape down along the screw heads as your mold. I hope that makes sense lol
I really like that you had to take off the veneer, like the wood look. Maybe I missed it, but did you sand the entire inside? also leave that detail in front with the shelf would have been ok i think, just another interest
Hay Sab....great flip and repurpose. I enjoyed this a lot. I was wondering if you still have the singer pedal that you removed. If so, would you be willing to sell it to me for my existing sewing table?
If you still have the screw parts (from the backside of the opening where the sewing machine would hang) I would absolutely purchase them from you! I saw them at the beginning of your video. Many thanks. Now I'll continue watching!😅
What area of Oklahoma are you from? I'm from North Central Oklahoma and judging by the blanket that you were using I believe we are from the same town!! Which is super neat and I would love to meet you. I also flip and rehab furniture!! Btw...I LOVE who this piece turned out!
I'm brand new to your channel and have some feedback. Hope that's okay. You might want to consider leaving the section titles up for only about a second or so. That's usually good enough for viewers. As it is now, they're up for 5-6 seconds, which is a pretty long time. I love the table. It is so cute. Love the transformation, the vibe, and all of the details. 💙
You should try a spray that's called stencils tact you just spray a very light amount on the back let it dry a little bit and then it would here to whatever you want but it's easily pulled back up and doesn't leave a residue I don't know why people don't use this it confuses me every time I watch some kind of crafting show or when you guys just sand stuff down you citrus peel
@@SabsRehabs wow. Fences much I wasn't saying that my way was right way I'm just proving you right by the telling you there's more way than to skin the cat right while I won't be coming back to your channel angry
Wine cart, anybody?
I would leave it open and make a Coffee table! I'd use the glass hangner for spécial cups. The Coffee could go in the hole, and all u need for a good coffee !
I would if I could but they don't allow wine in a nursing-rehab facility. Great job and even greater save. Who woulda thunk?
This is really great design. Thank you. And so glad no music to distract from the thoughtful and relaxing, to us, work.
I think it was a blessing that you made the "whoopsie" because the stencil just elevates this piece so much! Its such a nice surprise when you open it! ❤

It came out great!! Love the colors and the look. Someone will love that.
I don't drink, but I think this is not only gorgeous, but ingenious. I think the leaf pattern would have been pretty on top as well.

I guess the dixiebelle wax is waterbased since you were able to wipe it off with wax? In that case i guess i,m gonna switch to dixiebelle!
The Dixie Belle gilding wax is oil based
👍
I was fine with the sewing machine cabinet being repurposed until you got to the wine. Forget it! I definitely DO NOT need a wine cart.
It doesnt have to be a wine cart. Other possibilities are limitless. Someone can take this idea and definitely adjust it to fit their need.
